After a long wait, I finally received a response on October 29 apologizing for the delay and confirming my date was available. They asked me to schedule a call through their portal to discuss details, which I did for November 4. Unfortunately, they did not show up for the call. They eventually connected with me later that day, and I sent inspiration photos to help with planning. After that, I heard nothing until January 16, 2026, when Katie messaged me asking if I had seen her proposal. She apologized for the lack of follow-up and said she would resend it if needed. I informed her that I had not received the proposal in my spam or portal, and she promised to resend it the next day. However, by January 17, I still had not received anything. I followed up again on March 1, 2026, hoping for some progress. Despite the ongoing communication issues, I was drawn to their work because of the beautiful photos and event space they showcased on Instagram. I really wanted to use their services. On March 2, I finally received a response from Stephen, who explained Katie was attending a conference but assured me I would get the proposal within a few days, no later than the end of that week. Now, 20 days later, I have received no proposal and no further follow-up. I am left with no choice but to look elsewhere. If I could give zero stars, I would. I cannot comment on their food or event space because I was never able to utilize their services. I want to support local small businesses, but this experience has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating.

Our…read morewedding was an outside event at my father's farm so there was a lot to think about to make sure that happened. It wasn't long after our planning commenced that we realized that in order to ensure that our wish for it to feel laid back and fun for our beloved family and friends that we would have to be "not so laid back" in our approach to wedding planning. We knew we would need to work hard and fully think out and plan for every detail. My wife and I thought that it might be worth it to hire a day of coordinator to help us. We are so grateful that we did! As a LGBT couple we knew that priority number one was finding a coordinator that was not only tolerant but would also celebrate that aspect of or marriage. I cannot express how happy we are that we found April at Your Perfect Day! She was everything we were hoping for and more! Hiring April was by far the best money we have ever spent! April is attentive, passionate, and warm; in a word April is superlative! We cannot recommend hiring a day of coordinator with more sincerity. When the big day arrived, our job was done. She ensured that everything went just as we were hoping it would. It wasn't until the reception ended that we even knew about the fires she put out. Can you imagine that? We didn't have one care in the world the whole day, which, let's be honest, is pretty much unheard of these days in the wedding world. I felt a pang of sadness when she left that day because I couldn't express in that moment just how much that work she put into our wedding meant to me. Thank you, April and Your Perfect Day, for living up to your name and making our day just PERFECT! To all of you out these who are on the fence about hiring Your Perfect Day, please believe me when I tell you that you should really do it.

I'm a Chicago gal who was trying to plan a wedding in SW Michigan (or anywhere between Detroit and…read moreChicago) to keep it close to home and family. I was initially reluctant to use a wedding/event planner for several reasons - wanting to save money, being fairly crafty/creative myself and having confidence in handling on my own details in pursuing something less "traditional", and being pretty resourceful. Shortly into the planning process, I realized it was going to be harder than I thought. I then met Mandi Buckland of Element Design. What sealed the deal was her calm energy and diversity in events she's worked on (weddings, parties, festivals, including "green" fests/events). She was great in identifying several unique wedding location options in Southwest and Southern MI, including a fabulous barn, a garden, and a super cool lodge (we ended up at a mansion in Holland). When I asked her to design the invitations with a "modern art nouveau theme" using a peacock to match the theme of a mansion built in the early 1900s (not easy!) - she provided several fabulous sample designs within a short period of time. Our final invitations were really unique and fun! After our invites went out, I received an unexpected amount of of great feedback ("I love your invitations!" "They are so unique," etc.) and I could tell they made people look forward to the wedding. I felt like Mandi figured out my sense of my style quickly, and she was able to identify options that fit that were creative, cost-conscious (extra plus) and didn't compromise on quality. At the same time she was working with me, she was helping a friend design invitations for a wedding at the Drake Hotel in Chicago, so her range of work can be simple, arty/less traditional, to more traditional/upscale. Pretty impressive! Mandi is professional, efficient, super creative, and I would recommend her to anyone in Chicago, Detroit (or anywhere in between the two cities in Michigan or Illinois) who is planning a wedding in Southwest or Southern Michigan!

I've been to a lot of weddings, but when its yours, there's alot of things you don't know or anticipate and Mandi definitely helped us in numerous ways. I can't think of a wedding planner doing a more complete, competent, and creative job. Kudos to you Mandi!
