The Regent Restaurant is a bit of a jack of all trades staple of the Weston sea front. It's conveniently between the pier and the amusements so it definitely sees a fair bit of footfall. Looking at the extensive British fayre on the menu it seems stuck in a time far gone - and that's just the way people like it.
The big cream leather booths remind me of dining out with my family in the early 90s. There's even a barrier and a sign telling you which way to queue up with your trays!
It was quite early on our visit so we just got some breakfast sandwiches. Sausage and eggs for both of us. It came on some lovely white farmhouse bread and had a generous amount of filling. However, my yolk had obviously burst on cooking and instead of making a new one I just got this dollop of semi-scrambled egg on top - while hubby smugly tucked into his perfectly yolky egg.
It's a decent place to grab a quick bite if you're in the area, but it is a touch on the expensive side like a lot of seafront places. Breakfast options are pretty limited too and with every other pub being a Beef Eater/Wetherspoons/Hungry Horse you'll definitely find somewhere with a lot more options for your money. read more
