It's ok. I have only been here one time, but my husband had been here before. He let me know it's gotten a makeover. Idk how recent that was, but the seats reclined and were spacious. Very comfortable. Idk if I would come back though. The snacks were great. But there were two things I strongly did not like. (1) I had a very small purse and they insisted and check it. Very odd. If they're concerned about weapons then get a metal detector like other ghetto theaters. I know they weren't checking for food because I saw several families in the theater with lots of Tupperware. They brought dinner and dessert. (2) Most items at the concession stand have pricing. However, this is not so when it comes to the combos. The economy is hard on folks, especially teens who go to the movies. It's shady to me that they don't list the price. Plenty of free parking in the lot. read more

If you want to go to a movie theater where they treat you like you're trying to get through airport security, this is the place. They bag-check everyone and practically strip-search you at the door. The person doing the check was sarcastic and rude, pointing at their policy poster and saying, "the white one behind you," like customers are supposed to magically know their rules. Then you go to buy snacks and the line is absolutely ridiculous. After waiting forever, you finally get to the front just to find out they don't even have half the snacks that every other theater normally carries. Yet they're perfectly happy to make you throw away anything you brought with you or walk all the way back to your car. The theater itself smells like a Chuck E. Cheese and the seating isn't anything special either. It's honestly embarrassing that they try to hold customers to such strict "standards" at the door, while the rest of the place feels like a complete joke. I hadn't been to The Towngate 8 since pre covid. What a pleasant surprise! The theaters have been remodeled with Super Comfy Reclining chairs! The theater is clean and well kept! The concessions have great deals, the ticket prices are super competitive to neighboring theaters! They even have special pricing on Tuesday. We will definitely be visiting more frequently. Also the staff is friendly and work hard to keep the theater clean. I noticed the manager with an employee waiting to clean the theater after the movie. I am definitely learning a lot about this neighborhood. . My aunt lives in Perris not too far away. I just wanted to see the matinee of Barbie. Having grand illusions of taking pictures with pink balloons in a metal box ..........a girl can dream ! Unfortunately when we got there absolutely nothing to celebrate ! This theater was remodeled about 4 months ago and is fantastic!!! Has 8 theaters (one with Dolby sound). All have brand new recliner chairs. Very very clean and fantastic prices on the movies and the concessions. The extra large refillable popcorn is only $8.00!!! They show current movies, not old stuff! Saw the Chosen Last Supper pt 1,2 & 3, the Amateur and just today, The Accountant 2! I highly recommend you give this place a try!!!! read more

Customer service was good. The review is based on the technical aspects of the theater. The somewhat bright dimmed lights in the theater remained on throughout the commercials. No big deal. Then the coming attractions came and the lights still remained on. When the main feature started i thought the lights would shut off so we can see the screen. Nope! The lights washed out the screen and it was unbearable to watch. I dont know if lights are set to shutoff in this establishment but i have a feeling that since i was the sole viewer they didnt bother. Every theater i went to always shut off the lights and the screen would adjust for optimal viewing. After 15 minutes i requested a refund and at least that part went smoothly. This place has newly remodeled their theaters & upgraded to reclining luxury chairs. Which makes going here a big plus. You get to pick your seat there or in advance on the website. They have self-service refillable fountian drinks. You can also become a loyalty member and receive perks that way. Also, they are reasonably priced and show movies just coming out in theaters ($10 for a matinee in 2024). read more

This Movie theatre is dependable for Kid-friendly, Affordable movies. The movie tickets were $2.50 per person. I saw the movie "Jungle Cruise" (2021). The bathrooms were quite clean, the hand dryer was a no touch dryer while the door handle to exit the restroom was a "pull" handle. My company went to the restroom. He informed me the men's bathroom light was off and the urinals were dark. Unfortunately this did not create a comfortable experience for him. I recommend staff do walk throughs to check on the status of the restrooms every now and then. I was sad to see this location no longer sells my highly favored Nathan's hot dogs. I hope the person in charge of the inventory of Food does a reevaluation of budget to make sure that good quality items are in stock for the concession stand. They do offer good combination orders that allow you to order the same delicious goodies for cheaper in a bundle. My friend and I ordered a Icee Coke, Fountain Drink, Large Popcorn that was split, Nacho Cheese Popcorn powder, Sour Licorice bites and nachos. The Nacho's were to expire in a month however I could smell the cooking oil it was cooked with was no longer good, rancid. My friend tossed the chips and was not able to enjoy the Nacho chips. Some rows of seats are closed due to social distancing, as you walk into the theatre you notice every other row of seats is closed. There are signs as you entire the theatre room that strongly recommend that you sit 3 seats away from others. My movie theater was quite empty there was a small party of 3 in the theater, making a total of 5 people watching the film. The employees state masks are optional for guests who have been vaccinated. In this space, face masks are also encouraged, in general. While watching the film you're not expected to wear a mask as you are available to eat your snacks during the movie. The movie was enjoyable and I was happy to come back to this theatre that I've been to as a child, after the COVID Lockdown. read more

As a movalian, this place isn't bad I mean, $2.00 hot dogs on discount Tuesdays with refillable drinks? Send it. The bathrooms were very clean and the employees were pretty on it despite the overwhelming amount of people in line. The theatre during the time my family and I went (06/26/24) was extremely hot due to the a/c being out per an employee. Other than that, not a bad movie experience at all. read more

This theater checks bags for outside food. As long as a ticket is bought for the movie, people should be able to bring snacks in if they don't want to buy the overpriced concession food all the time. I have been to this theatre several times and each time me and my party have noticed the only negative aspect of our experience. No issues with the theaters or the food as all theaters are pricy but it's the old bitter woman at the front door and sometimes at the snack bar. I don't know her name but I doubt she will be hard to spot. She is rude and looks so uninterested in being there. When we were at the bar she attended us and she flat out was just rushing us thru our order giving us the stink eye. I noticed this in previous visits but reserved my opinion as everyone has bad days. But clearly this woman has no place in customer service. I won't be back I would rather drive farther and pay more for a better experience. A real shame. read more

Always great prices and great movies! They have comfortable seats and the ticket prices are amazing (like I said! Prices!) I have 2 kids and the cheap prices really make a difference. I can afford the ticket and some popcorn, snack, hot dog and a drink! Just kind of hard they check your bag... My go to place when I want to treat my kids to the movies. My daughter and our really good friend were the recipient this go round. We went to see The Meg. We got there early enough to get good seats. The temp in the theatre was comfortable and so were our seats. The only downside to this theatre is that they check your purse or backpack. I can understand why, it still annoying. Other than that, the price is perfect and its a nice quick mid day get away with kids. This theater features older movies that we may have missed that you may want to see before they are turned to DVD's. It was $3.50/person for admission. Admission total was $14.00 for 4 people. Affordable right? Snacks -$34.00 (large popcorn, large drink, hot dog, nachos, 2 ice creams and candy) that's where they get you, but it works. Yes the movies shown here have been in the theater for several weeks but if you missed it when it first came out then this is a great place to see it, especially for the prices. Our family doesn't go to this theater typically because we live in Fontana. However the movie Just Mercy was not conveniently scheduled at our home theaters so we gave this place a try. A little older facility, but the staff are extremely friendly, the ticket prices are much more affordable and the seats are comfortable. Shout out to Rachelle and Daniel at the concession stands who were very friendly. There were others but these two stood out. Hot dogs are only $1.50 too. I will definitely come back!
