Wow what a mistake it was coming to this mall. I was barely in the door when the security guard yelled at me that I'm not allowed inside because my service dog doesn't have what he called a "service dog tag," whatever that is and showed me some sign hanging in between the doors which had nothing written about a "tag for a service dog." I told him this and my right to have a service dog who I need to take with me to places like this. He proceeded to say that he was going to call the cops, for what law was I breaking? Please show me the law that says I cannot take my service dog into an establishment?! No I will not be discriminated against like that. I have left a message for the general manager to call me back. This is ridiculous and the mall had a bunch of closed stores and nobody in there anyways. Good luck. read more

I have been to Regency mall years ago, when I was attending VCU. So when I recently visited it, it was a shock that it was not the same hustling bustling mall it used to be. Many stores were closed. The atmosphere was horrible with the lighting of the mall being dim and dull. My niece and I only went to this mall because the Sephora is very good at this location and it's not very busy so, getting services done is really decent. The parking situation is easy as well because they aren't busy, you can easily find parking and be in and out of the mall within an hour. Go to this mall if you have at least one store you know you can shop at. This mall is a waste of time if you plan on trying to go to multiple stores and see variety. I'm dating this review, 3/12/20, because the management here is actively trying to revive this once bustling mall. I remember Regency in its heyday! It was the "go to" mall in RVA! Now with Short Pump and Stoney Point, Regency has seen better days. I went there for the Curtain Call event where the former Forever 21 upper and lower levels were being temporarily rented out for this consignment venue. Upon entering, the somber mood was palpable. The food court was desolate, so many empty food stalls, it was like a ghost town in there! Many store fronts were unoccupied, some boarded up. The children's play area was lifeless, and the two floors were almost empty with a cloud of gloominess in the air. This mall needs a major overhaul and facelift and I'm hopeful about the developments in the future. I hear inklings about a movie theater possibly in the works and that would be awesome! Short Pump is way to crowded and this is close to my house! I miss several stores and restaurants there, but I'm hoping with the renovations and the new businesses popping up (Panera, First Watch, Chipotle, Mod Pizza, Starbucks, and others) that this mall will soon be re"stored" to its former glory. I'm seeing daily construction and excited for the new additions. As of today though, I'm doing 2 stars with visions of adding more once this mall perks up!! read more

This mall used to be busy and had many stores to shop to. I haven't been here for a while, but it seems like my favorite store had closed down. There's construction work being done. I usually enter through the food court because it would take me to Forever 21. That's mainly where I go to because I'm sure if this mall closed Forever 21, it would be doomed for good. Forever 21 is quite messy though. There's always clothes all over the floor and unorganized. Unfortunately, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works, and many good stores are no longer here. Overall this mall is practically a ghost town. All the good stores shut down and it seems to be always doing construction work, but nothing really seems done. I really want to give this place a better rating but if I'm being honest, you are better off going to Shortpump. This mall is a place just to go to Forever 21 and that's about it. read more

Came to this mall on a Friday afternoon and it was like a ghost town. So many stores closed or empty, hardly anyone there, and we couldn't even go downstairs because the elevator was down (we had a stroller). The escalators weren't even in service. Regency Square Mall was THE mall in the 80s. It's old school now, particularly with Short Pump and Stony Point as its competition. That said, it's my go-to place when I want to do some quick in-and-out shopping without much hassle. LOVE the Macy's there, too. read more

It's a very old mall in a quite well populated area, which really makes you wonder why it has so many vacancies and is so empty. I think the competition created by Short Pump Town Center nearby, as an outdoor mall, and Chesterfield Towne Center for those looking for a more traditional mall, really draws away foot traffic from Regency Square as both the above mentioned malls simply offer more and better. There's nothing particularly bad about the facility except for the fact that it seems to not have been updated much in years and there is a profound lack of stores. It's unfortunate the mall is economically squeezed, but it still is worth a visit to see what it's like. read more

I know this is one of the oldest shopping centers in town, but I still love the convenience of being able to park right outside of Macy's and dash in for a couple of things without hiking around a three-mile concourse or park-like outdoor mall. This can be a time-saver especially at the holidays when Short Pump and Stony Point are absolutely mobbed. read more

I'm sad to see that so much in this mall has closed. Sears, Macy's, Victoria's Secret are all closed. Charlotte Russe and Sephora were empty of customers and Forever 21 was a mess. Did look clean but kind of a ghost town. There is a lot of construction going on on the quioccasin road side so you have to enter the parking lot elsewhere if you want to go park by the food court. I just remembered this mall and thought I'd review. Hmm...what can I say about Regency? Regency isn't the best mall in Richmond, but certainly not the worst. It has some pretty decent stores like *drum roll* Charming Charlie's which I love. It's not the type of mall you go to if you want a lot of options- you kind of know where you're going when you get there. You can tour the whole mall pretty quickly. I stumbled upon this little treasure by accident. It is an older mall and a few of the stores are actually closed. However, the mall still has some of the basic like Bath and Body Works and Forever21. It is still a nice place to relax and get some shopping done. It's sad to see regency in this state. We all know it though: It definitely ain't what it used to be! The area around the mall is shaping up nicely which is a good thing. There's a "new" Wal-Mart, Fresh Market, Chick Fil-A, local restaurants, and grocery stores. I remember the time when Regency was *thee* mall to go to. During the Christmas season it was bustling with activity Do you remember the scene in The Lion King when Simba and Nala end up in the elephant graveyard with skeletons and tumbleweeds? Yep. That's Regency. There are so many empty storefronts it's quite embarrassing. The only reason to go there is that the Macy's shoe department is on point and they have a Forever 21. That's literally it. This mall used to be the only place you could go to get makeup from Sephora, but now you can just go to Short Pump to do that. I hear that they just got bought by someone who has plans to revamp the whole thing. Now that I'm looking forward to! Overall, I'm not sure what else to say besides RIP Regency. read more

Although Regency is one of the older malls in town, it has a lot of shops that are exclusive in the Richmond area. You'll find Richmond's only Forever 21 (and it's a huuuge store with 2 levels!), the only Charming Charlie, the only Sephora and the only Texas de Brazil. This is also the only location of the locally owned home decor boutique 2 Friends. There are definitely a lot of teen-centric stores here. Along with Forever 21, there's Charlotte Russe, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Claire's Accessories, Journeys, Up Against the Wall and more. So, the shopping crowd here often tends toward younger. Unlike the area's two major malls, Regency is indoors, which is nice on a rainy day or in winter. For some reason, I also tend to have more luck at the Macy's here than at other Richmond locations. The shoe department is huge and well laid out, making it easy to find lots of cool stuff. There's also hair salons, an eyebrow threading place, a spa, a salon geared to kids, a food court and a kids' play area. The food court also has free Wi-Fi. Anchors are Macy's, Sears and JCPenney. There are around 75 stores total. read more

Regency Mall used to be Richmond's premier mall back in the era when malls were places we teens lived in, the 1980s! Regency has become a victim of an aging neighborhood population, population shifting farther West and two new luxury malls being opened in the past few years. Once the leases run out, it seems that the stores quickly move along. Over the years they have lost Abercrombie and Fitch, Banana Republic, The Gap, and many other destination name brands that make a trip to the mall efficient and worth a drive. It is an enclosed mall, unlike the new malls, Stony Point Fashion Center and Short Pump Town Center so on bad weather days this might be a better option if less efficient one. Regency Mall is only still viable mostly due to the fact that is has the only huge XXI Forever store (which now sells menswear that is very affordable and fashion forward), a Williams and Sonoma ( one has now opened in Short Pump Town Center so it will probably close soon), Sephora is also a destination for many as the other two are inside the JCPenney stores at White Oak and Chesterfield Town Center. Also for men, there is an American Eagle, Express and there is a Macy's as well. I wouldn't put Regency on my list as Stony Point and Short Pump Town Center have all of these stores and more. If you need a full sized Sephora or XXI Forever then Regency is your only option, otherwise there are better malls in Richmond read more

Hadn't visited here previously and was a bit worried when I looked at it from the outside. However, inside is a charming mall with a nice variety of stores. Yes, some elements are worn down, such as the seating. And yes, some space is unoccupied. However, I still prefer indoor malls for summer heat and winter cold. That along with the fact that I'm not affluent enough for Saks or Norstroms, yet appreciate a place a step beyond Chesterfield Towne Center, makes this a good place to go. read more

Went here for a Sephora fix! One of my favorite places to shop. It was late morning on a weekday and it seemed a little dead, but I like when malls are less crowded. The service you get is better in my opinion and you aren't waiting in huge lines. The parking lot seemed dated, but the inside was nice and clean. Lots of stores to choose from, the place is 2 stories total. The stores were relevant ones that most people would be interested in shopping at. The ladies at Sephora were helpful and the check out was quick. The store initially looked small, but goes back really far. It has a huge selection. read more

INTERESTING FINDS! They have stores in here that are more like what I grew up with in the 1980s and 90s, when they had more interesting stuff. A lot of these stores you cant find any place else. I like the Dollar Plus Store, make your own t shirt, and they have other really neat stuff. A lot of stores here have better deals than Short Pump or anyplace else. I love the Food Court. The manager of the mall is as friendly as you could imagine. They always have the best sales and deals here. Im so glad it keeps on trying. I think it will be here for years to come. read more

This is the closest mall to me so this is the one I go to the most. Has a lot of various stores that I go to. When I'm on a budget this is the mall I go to. Not my favorite as far as location and looks but like I said I go here and mostly when I'm on a budget. read more

I went to this mall today, for a little shopping after I'd been bored in my hotel room. I seriously felt like I'd stepped into a time machine. Forever 21 was the only thing that I liked about this mall. It's seriously sad, and this location could be nice, if anyone cared to help it out a little bit. This is a decent mall the food court is clean there is a lot of security around that area Sears and Macy's closed recently this mall is starting to die but I love to see my children happy in the play area and then we go to the arcade this mall is getting rebuilt and hopefully it will be good as new read more

This mall was a bit of a surprise. Seemed like half the stores were closed down. I saw some store fronts with coming soon signs but only a couple. It seemed every other store was some sort of a salon or jewelry store. Even one of the major stores that is in nearly every mall had a closing soon sign up. The only saving grace I could mention was cheezilla in the food court. That place was amazing. read more

When I go to Regency Square Mall, it's usually to shop at Macy's.I love how each section of Macy's has it's own space.Men's appeal is on one side of the mall & women appeal on another side.Forever 21 is the main attraction to Regency Square Mall.It seems like Forever 21 takes up most of the mall by the food court.I would give Regency another star if there were more men stores.My sisters can shop here all day,not so much for me.I always get the cinnamon & sugar pretzels from the stand by the stairs in Regency.Their pretzels are tasty.If you have a sweet tooth like me, try the pretzels.Women enjoy this mall more than men do.Regency Square Mall is "A-Ok". read more

It is extremely unfortunate and I regret posting this review but I am posting solely as a consumer and I feel the public needs to know... This mall is extremely old and has more going against it HOWEVER, this mall has great parking especially the parking decks and covered parking. This mall is great for one stop/in-out shopping. You come in with what you're looking for and leave. The mall management has changed significantly and it is with absolute sadness that I say they are terrible group of people who are ruining small businesses and half of them should'nt be in the position that they are in, maybe stick to receptionist. Businesses come and go at this mall but the small businesses that are still here are working very hard to stay and the mall seems to not realize it helps boost the malls appearance. Aeropostale is one of the bigger stores they have let go. Some fantastic reasons to come to Regency Square: Daily Java (better than Starbucks & the service is hands down amazing), Sephora, Glory Formal, Victoria's Secret (they are extremely helpful), (Men's) Macy's and Snapbacks (Very cool trendy hats for a good deal). This is the place to go to get your shopping done, find good deals, shop without the ugly weather. read more

I like that this mall wasn't as fast paced as New York malls, however it seemed nearly deserted and there was a lot less to choose from in regards to stores. I loved the forever 21, there were 2 levels and many accessories to choose from. However I wasn't fond of the Spencer's since they tried ripping me off and charging full price on a promo deal (buy 1 wallet get the other for $1). I would return when visiting again but I certainly wouldn't be excited about it. I'll be looking for other malls in the area next time. read more

Regency mall is awesome, i go up there to walk every day. however they are really struggling with trying to keep places open there including my favorite one, game stop. but thats no problem, they still have a lot of great stores like spencers, hpds sports, american eagle, sears, and aeropostale. regency seems to be going downhill which i really dont like because i love the mall, and its very convenient since i live right near it. and also if you want to go to a bargain mall, go to regency. good luck trying to find these prices at places like short pump town center and stony point. read more

Outside of convenience, I really don't have a reason to visit here because thenstores i visit on a regular basis offer sporadic levels of service. The MAC counter, though I really like one of the MUAs, seems to always be understaffed...and unfortunately, the associates in Sephora seem to think they are getting paid just to stand around. I do like the mall's Bath & Body Works and The Body Shop, but I can find those stores with the same level of service in other malls. read more

This mall used to be THE mall before Short Pump opened, but now it's gone DOWNHILL. Everything is pretty much leaving. Stores like American Eagle, Gamestop, Williams-Sonoma, New York & Company, & MORE have closed at Regency. A lot of the stores that are moving in are just local stores & they don't really last too long either. Let's hope things get a LITTLE better for Regency. read more

This mall has gone a little downhill...they have Sephora, so that's great. Other than that, I can shop at Short Pump. Unfortunately, indoor malls seem to be a thing of the past, and the businesses that they have here...are not too good. Aside from Sephora. I do like their Lens Crafters, but only bc I love one of their employees who adjusts my glasses better than anyone else in the business.
