The agency was helpful and prompt in reducing our homeowners insurance. It's a bit of a challenge to talk to an agent. First you are prescreened by someone without an insurance background. It seems like they are trying to answer questions so they don't have to transfer you to an agent. I had questions about flood insurance which I'm sure thousands of people have in Florida. The agent I was transferred to didn't know anything about it because they were new to Florida. They put me on hold to find out about it and really did answer some of the questions when they came back on the line. I had questions about the FEMA program. It was a wasted call. I expect to talk to a knowledgeable agent who can answer questions. read more

These people just don't care about their customers. They lie over and over. They make promises and then don't come through for you. They asked me to get inspections that cost me $500.00 and run around getting them reports and copies of 8 year old permits then would say that company doesn't want the exposure but they have another company that is only a thousand or two more then a few days later they call and say they won't cover you either. So after spending weeks running around and being offered 5 different companies they offered Florida's state policy which would be over $5,000 more than I had been paying. Terrible Company. I paid off my 900 sq. foot shack at West Melbourne, FL 32904 last year. I have been insured with Centauri Specialty Insurance Company, PO Box 3867, Omaha, NE 68103-0867 and Regency Insurance Group, FL00010, at 24311 Walden Center Dr., 103 in Bonita Springs, FL 34134 for over 10 years without one claim ever. As I mentioned last year I paid off my home. it's falling apart but since there is no oversight bank or mortgage company protecting this house any more my insurance providers are raising my premium $1700.00 this year. I am 67 years old. Single and make $15,500 something a year Social Security. I have called them 10 times to try to get the premium lowered and the best they could do was lowing my hurricane deductible from 2% to 5% for a grand total of $200.00 per year. I have talked to friends and neighbors and none of their premiums went up. Since I'm the only one whose paid off her home recently I have to come to the conclusion that since I have no protective agencies governing what happens to their investments (mortgage company, bank) that Centauri and Regency are targeting a senior on a fixed income. I'm not even going to blame the last years hurricanes on this one. I believe it goes a little deeper than that. Consider this my filing a formal complaint against these two companies who have a rating of 2.5 and my policy ended up with them after being sold numerous times in the last 30 years. On 2/27/2022 I reached out to this agency by phone in order to find out what steps we need to take to transfer a current client's NFIP flood policy as it is $1000 less in premium to be able to transfer the policy rather than initiate a new policy. The receptionist told me that they are not rewriting policies, but would be happy to quote a new policy. I have the current owner's permission to transfer with the NFIP form to submit, but this agency WILL NOT sign it to process the more than simple request. Rather than approaching this as a selling opportunity and saying "yes" we can transfer that for you, and by the way, may we quote your home, auto, boat, etc...they would rather loose the policy altogether, and not try to earn any of my other business down the road. What a horrible business plan. I wonder how they are even still in business! read more

These people hung us out to dry, plus they had me jumping through hoops to provide them proof of a 30 year roof added to our home 5 years ago. And we had to provide an updated wind mitigation compliance report, which itself cost $100.00 which we forwarded in less than 2 days. I was all set to pay the premium in full for the first year of activation. My son is currently paying $2406 a year through his mortgage company, because of 2 separate claims for broken water valves in the walls in February and March of 2018, the insurance was not renewed, even though the combined claims were less than $5000. He was forced to get a policy from the mortgage holder. More than 3 1/2 years later, no new claims have been entered. This was all told to Kevin ( allegedly a co owner) and his sales rep, Eric. I also had correspondence with Alexis and Victoria, just too many cooks in the kitchen, which leads to incompetence and carelessness. In my view, if not illegal, it is certainly highly unethical. If this casual attitude is commonplace for them, I'm astounded they are still in business. They also sent me a detailed quotation with an effective policy date Of September 24, 2021 through September 24, 2022. If I could give them 5 minus stars I would. Unfortunately 1 star is as low as the rating system presently goes. Be careful when dealing with this shady outfit, it could wind up costing you time and money , all for no beneficial reason. The best that I can say about them is that they're a bunch of jerks. Evidently, they're very thick skinned too, virtually impossible to insult. I'm out of figurative ammo. Enough said. read more

if I can, I would have given a notice 5 star. they are the WORST you can ever get. declines all claims whcih would have been approved by any other insurance company would have covered in similar policies - well Regency always claims that they provide the same coverage when trying to get you as a client but when you are on board, they treat you like a piece of shit. Also very slow in responses, super slow!!!! they also sometimes have "technical errors" which results in you not receiving the payment of the claims approved by them too, when all your bank account info has always been the same. and what's worse, they never follow up on your emails and you need to wait forever and realise that no one is following it through for you and you have to spend the time on following up with them multiple times to get someone to reply to you , and many times they wouldn't answer all your questions! In short they are just the WORST insurance company I have ever seen. read more

I can add another negative review of this insurance agency. I had a cancellation notice due to my not receiving an email invoice. I tried to get answers from the agency, but to no avail. The woman on the phone did not answer my questions, apparently had little or no information on my policy ,repeated irrelevant information several times, interrupted when I tried to repeat my questions, and when I said she was not answering my questions and was ignoring what I was saying , she hung up on me. Unfortunately I cannot change agents today, only at renewal time, but be assured when that renewal comes up, I will definitely get rid of them Rude and unprofessional. read more

Add me to the one star people. Let me tell you a story; Once upon a time a lady named Maria bought insurance on a home through Regency. When the home passed to me I thought I would stay with Regency so there would be no break in service and they know the property. After getting a quote I signed with them and paid the policy in whole. So now on paper, Maria and Mike both have insurance on the same home. Notice was given to cancel the policy for Maria. Regency canceled the policy for Mike. What you may say? After receiving a notice of cancellation and making several calls and waiting to hear back Mike thought the whole thing was straightened out, but no. Mike received a call from Regency about a pending cancellation on the policy. Seems the company will no longer honor the previous credits for the same home that was insured through them. So now they want more money. Mike asked them about hunting for another company because he has absolutely no confidence in them if he ever had a claim. Regency calls back and says they can't find anyone because of the lapse of coverage. Remember above when they canceled the wrong policy? Well for the time it took to get it straightened out there was no insurance on the home thus a lapse of coverage. The moral of this story is to look at Yelp and others before you do business with a company no matter how good it looks to do so. read more

I am pulling all my insurance from this company and going somewhere else - why? Because the customer service is terrible. Imagine talking to some very young person and trying to explain your problem only to find that weeks later nothing happened. Then, you call back and talk to someone else who is very young and that person cannot tell you what happened before but it will be fixed this time. Now weeks later you call back again and you are speaking to a very young person who does not know who you talked to before and does not know why the problem was not solved but this time it will be solved. Add several more experiences like and that is my experience with this company. For my business I have an older guy I can talk to and he owns the business so he wants to solve my problem. Here I don't think anyone I talked to really cares if the problem is solved or not. :( read more

You get laughed at on the phone, they over talk you, and they put on a "SO CALLED" Manager of Underwriting and she is the rudest joke of them all. My home insurance is to be included in my monthly mortgage payments. So I get a Cancellation notice from this joke of an insurance company and they very rudely tell me "It's my problem NOT the title company or the bank." WHAT?!?! My title company owes you the money, why would you not contact them? Again, the rudest people out there. They should NOT be in business and my next step is the Insurance Commissioners Office. I have always been impressed with the friendliness of the staff and willingness to answer any questions I have in a timely matter. There have been numerous friends, family & clients that I have referred to them as well, and I always get good feedback on their service and pricing. Regency Insurance is the last place I would go for insurance. We were with them for 5 years. After being lied too consistently we have now left the agency. Kagen was our original agent and as they grew we were handed off to various agents who never returned calls and never shopped the best price most other independent agencies do. After calling multiple times and not getting a response I went on Facebook and left a review and then Kagen finally reached out saying he knew nothing of any problems. He then told us he would take care of us, shortly he handed us off once again. Now today we get a notice in the mail we got a bill for $300.00 more than quoted and no call informing us. When we called Kagen wasn't available but yet when I went back to Facebook and left another review he reaches out with the office number. His partner Kevin, who has never dealt with me or my wife, decides to respond to her review basically calling us liars. Don't do business with Regency Insurance I was one of their first clients when they started their agency and they outgrew customer service. On Friday January 9th 2015 Heather called and wanted to give me a quote for home owners insurance, I was reluctant to take her call and i said I will give them a chance since they have been calling me once day for a month over the phone she gave me a quote for $918 a month she said she would send the quote to me email I waited and waited and never received the email.
