Some of the confusion may have been from covid protocols and/or language barriers. I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the sauna. I had heard and read mostly good things, and was looking forward to relaxing and rejuvenating myself. The check-in was quick and once my payment was processed(approx. $50 for two hours of sauna/steam room use), I was off to the changing rooms. Lockers, showers and towels are all included. The men's changing room was clean and well laid out. Enough said - on to the saunas! You'll find eight unique saunas and steam rooms to suit almost every preference. From the traditional - Roman Steam Room and Turkish Hammam to the modern - Eucalyptus Steam - you're in for a treat. It's completely up to you how long you stay in each room - personally, I wanted to try each and every one! If you're really overheating OR want to take things to the next level, in between each room you can pull a lever and take a cold water bucket plunge. This is not something I indulged in! I was a little disappointed that on my visit a few of the rooms were closed for maintenance. Things happen, so hopefully on the next visit this won't be the case. Helpful hints : bring your own refillable water bottle and a change of clothes. Parking is free underground. Keep an eye on the clocks around the facility. Once checked in, you have two hours on the dot - you'll be locked out of your locker if you overstay your welcome! I enjoyed my visit and would definitely go again.

Whoever is at the front desk is always willing to help out with music suggestions or tips on relaxing in the tank, and there's never any pressure to stay after the float or to leave right away - I've run out when I have somewhere to be, but if you want to have a cup of tea and sit afterwards, there is a great lounge to do so. This location is also great about renewing expired floats! You do have to walk down 10 steps and then up a couple steps of stairs to get to the outdoor sauna. I requested for it to be 0 degrees and they gladly put in a couple buckets of ice for me. They were hot enough that I definitely worked up a sweat, but not unbearably hot like some other spas I've visited. I could actually stay in them and enjoy the experience. I also had the Korean body treatment that included a salt scrub, oil massage, cucumber face mask and shampoo. It was very good and completely different from a typical spa treatment. One of my favourite parts was having buckets of very warm water poured over me--it felt wonderful. My only real complaint was the treatment table. Since there wasn't an opening for your face like on a regular massage table, I had to keep my neck turned to the side while lying face down, which I found uncomfortable. I realize this is a traditional Korean spa treatment, so it may simply be part of the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would have liked a little more explanation during the treatment about what was being used, especially the different oils, but the person doing my treatment was very busy and there really wasn't time to ask. I guess this is the Korean way. I don't know but wanted the authentic experience. One other thing is that I they have you pay upfront. I paid, but I did not leave a tip. I told them I would do that at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed JJ Spa. If you're looking for luxury and fancy surroundings, this probably isn't the place. The facility is dated and needs more improvement. I needed a paper cup for water fountain at relaxing room, shampoo and body soap at shower. A clock in the sauna. Receptionist was very friendly since I called them booking. The body scrubber, Cindy was awesome. I had basic scrub 30 min for $60. When the booking time comes, the scrubber came to hot tub area to call the TIME, not name. If she called your TIME, head to the bed. I was wearing swimsuits but over the curtain, Cindy asked me to change paper made panty. That was awkward experience but understand she scrub every inches. I think 30 min was good enough for it. Last 5 min, she gave me quick facial with lavender infused steamed towel and gel. And neck and shoulder massage. For spa corner, I would say the salt room is my favorite. After the scrub was done, I changed to provided lounge clothes and stayed in salt room for a while. Just lay down on the mat and let the body soak the minerals. It's bit lighting down and quiet room and perfect for napping. Slightly warm but not hot like sauna. About billing. The charge was $60 for scrub. $25 for spa facility. And paid some doller for scrub mitten that you can use next time. That was fine. When I checked in, they asked me to sign the waiver and pay. That was fine too. But tipping machine showed whole cost included price. I paid the tip against for only the scrub service. Tipping should be like that.

For me (with a dislike of needles) I have an entire routine to get my zen-on. In the days 'before' I would get the tea offered at the front counter, pay for my treatment, have the choice of one of the multiple beds or chairs and I could choose a comfy blanket from the front rack to get snuggly into the generous treatment time. NOW post-apocalypse I am masked, there is no tea although perhaps I could bring my own but really I can't recall how I even managed tea with the treatment needles so no real loss there. The beds are gone but the chairs remain at WELL spaced intervals and again NO loss cause my body (that lives with disability) always chose the chairs anyway. Did I mentioned these are leather (or pleather) reclining chairs as in you could practically go horizontal if you choose. Group blankets are gone but meh maybe it was their time anyway- now I bring my Own snuggly blanket of choice. Once you scuttle into the bathroom for handwashing you are good to go to let the mellow music take you to your happy place and kick back for your choice of relaxing timeframes. I am kinda double-masked in that my eye mask helps with my extra 'needle' tension so I'm Very well sealed in my own private Idonknow. If I'm missing their scented eye shields well that is an easy fix with a bring your own option. ALL in all, COVID has not kept this team down from pivoting and providing lots of workable options to let the pressure out and find some peace.
