This is the second time this year I've visited this theater, and they still don't have soda. It has to be the poorest-run movie theater in NYC. A bunch of young kids are running the place, and the manager should be held accountable for all the lost revenue. Came here to see Wicked recently with a friend. The theater building itself is on the older side and you can tell from the lobby that aside from the movie posters, refreshment prep area and video/claw machines added, not much has changed in the past 30-40 years. There's a box office booth right as you walk in to the right, that isn't necessarily functional, staff directed us to purchase tickets at the digital kiosks or from the concessions counter. When I came on a Friday night it seemed there were only a few staff members around. We waited a few minutes for someone to show up at the concessions stand. At least they've renovated the seating--most of the individual theater spaces inside have recliner seating. It makes for a very comfortable viewing experience since you can raise your legs and lean back. My overall viewing satisfaction was on par with larger, newer theater buildings. There are bathrooms available, women's on the left side of the concessions area and men's on the right. There's a structure for parking directly next to the theater though street parking is also available. read more

Came in for a movie which ended being up in 3D. Prices were good, nice staff and comfy seats. Best part was that there wasn't too many people around and the theatre was quiet. read more

I personally love the Midway, it's been a staple of the neighborhood for a long time, but lately the outside of the building looks dark and dingy, the marquee is dark, and one can barely make up the name of the movies playing, whoever is in charge should make the building brighter, inviting and attractive for the movie goers, what's going on?? read more

This regal cinema in forest hills queens gets high marks for the new recliner seats with trays and great leg room and space which helps when movie stinks and it's time to take a nap . Large lobby , plenty of parking , typical overpriced concession stand and plenty of arcade games in lobby . Staff are nice and do a good job cleanup each theater room after a movie is over. Prices for tickets are high but there are discounts to be had if you look online . Movie was fortunately good and no nap for me so it's total comfort and cinematic enjoyment. 4.5 stars on my yelp meter. read more

One of my favorite movie theaters to visit to see a movie..the workers are cool and professional & the place is always clean

HORRIBLE experience - I came here for a 3:20pm showing of The Long Walk last weekend as part of my son's birthday celebration - he wanted to see it. Only to get there and find out the movie was not playing at that time. Apparently they changed the times and was showing it at 2:10 with another showing at 5pm. Management told me they informed Fandango (where I got my tickets from 2 weeks prior) and I should have been notified via their agency. I checked my emails on the spot and didn't get anything from Fandango except for the confirmation of a 3:20pm show. I just did a search on Reddit and saw that it's actually a thing with them just move movie times around and not notify. Not sure if they contacted Fandango or not (I opened up a case with them) but this definitely shows a lack of respect for their patrons' time and money (in my case, transit costs plus the fact that it was my son's birthday). We couldn't do the 5 pm showing since I made plans for right after the would-be 3:20pm showing. Very disappointed in Regal Corporation - this level of incompetence is extremely concerning. UPDATE - Regal Management and customer service were more than awesome in how they made sure they care about their customers. They were quick with their responses and extremely understanding. Going forward, I recommend using the theaters' own ticketing instead of Fandango. I'm changing my rating from 1 star to 5. read more

Subject: RUDE Staff and Dirty Seats! I wish I could give zero stars. I had the WORST experience at this theater! First off, the staff couldn't care less about customers. The person at the concessions stand rolled their eyes when I asked for fresh popcorn because the one they handed me was STALE. Is it too much to ask for popcorn that wasn't sitting under a heat lamp for hours? Then we go into the theater... and the seats were FILTHY. There were crumbs, sticky soda spills, and even a half-eaten candy bar on the armrest! I almost walked out. Clearly, they haven't cleaned the place in days--or weeks. And don't even get me started on the sound. The movie kept cutting out during important scenes! How is this place even open? For the outrageous ticket prices, this experience was unacceptable. Save your money and go literally ANYWHERE else. This place is a joke. read more

We rented a theater for a kids birthday party and everything was absolutely perfect. the theater itself was clean, the manager was very kind and professional and the young woman who helped was very nice and wanting to help. we have had a lot of birthdays in the city and this was the best. For what it is, a small neighborhood theatre in Forest Hills, I actually very much enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I went to see the movie "Easter Sunday" and we were highly impressed by the seats! They really recline so you get to full-on relax (just don't knock out!). The snacks are a bit limited and parking is a bit scarce but there is a garage nearby if you'd be willing to do that. Overall the theater was cute, clean, and great for the neighborhood. They were actually having an event there the day we went but we didn't know about it in advance so we couldn't stay. One note about the seats--they are great, BUT if you end up with someone annoying around you constantly getting up, the recline is a bit noisy so this may annoy you. If things like that don't bother you, you're good to go. It wasn't that bad but I know if I brought my friend with a short temper he'd have a hard time. read more

I went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was empty yet at the concession stand there was a couple ordering, I waited 10 minutes for them to be served and as soon as I reached the counter the I presume "Manager", I say that because I heard her give orders to another staff member, well to describe her she is afro American large heavy set woman ( just to describe her since I wouldn't know her name). Well she totally ignored me and just left the counter while I waited to order. If you hate your job then quit, this is not the right job for non customer service! read more

I have been coming to this movie theater since I was young. They upgraded to the leather lazy boy seating a few years ago which is quite nice. I also like coming here to collect movie points by using the Regal app. I recently came to watch a movie last week and they did a pretty good job of checking our COVID-19 vaccination cards & photo IDs. So I felt safe knowing that people are vaccinated. The staff also wore masks. The movie theater was quite clean during my visit and it's probably because I came in the afternoon. I recommend taking the train or bus here. Parking seems to be limited. read more

UA midway I have been coming to this theater for years.matter of fact since I was a little kid. It is still easily accessible coming from Jamaica queens. By the bus or train the Q60 bus is right there out side of midway and the Etrain from Jamaica center to 71 continental is more than close to the theater. This movie theater is a fixture on queens blvd for decades and it still one of my favorite theaters till this day .I remember when the 2 major movie theater for us in jamaica was midway and green arches theater. But to me midway was always the best movie theater in queens. I know there are other theaters..and I have been to most of them but I still choose midway. And now they have the reclining seats wow that is awsome. And service comes right to your seats with refreshments. That is a big pulse for me ,this theater is me and wife's theater of choice and it is right here in queens my favorite borough. And it is good to come here after all of these years and it is still exciting as adult .the bathrooms are clean and theater is clean also. And the prices aren't bad at all. That's why I'm giving them 5/5 stars. read more

With the renovation and the inclusion of reclining seats, this theater has definitely improved. This theater has been a long time standing in the area and does well as a small time theater for the neighborhood. Parking in this area is super painful as street parking is not free and the garage next door is pricey. There also seems to never be enough staff around with the current staff multitasking in different departments. But it's a good option to watch a movie every now and then, the restaurant options in the area have been improving so a good dinner and a movie combo is achievable without having to travel much. read more

I'm in the fence since Midway is now a talking theater but I don't know if I should grant leniency for a first offense. I also applaud the speediness of the refund, none of this begging for a free pass nonsense. So I'm angry that "The Commuter" isn't just the movie I hoped to see, but a self-description as I hope the F and N/Q/R get me to Union Square before the 10:50. Maybe I can't blame the Midway for the state of the world. But the poor design of the small theaters left no room for escape from the noise. In addition to the widespread ills of distracting tray tables and assigned seating, one Midway-specific gripe is the closure of the presumed good bathroom, leaving only the upstairs one with too-close-for-comfort urinals. read more

Ok. So this review is for this location only of Regal theaters. Today was a cold and damp wintry mix, the place was quite busy given the good movie titles and the weather I'm betting. While I've been here before, there is a few great reasons why this visit was a solid four star. I had already bought my tickets online so I made a bee line for the lengthy concession stand. There were a few lines but I still had twenty minutes before my movie, no biggie. Sadly I picked the one line that wasn't moving as quickly and what I thought was a group, turned out to be each individual person purchasing...doh! So you know everything took twice as long. The cashier is also the person filling the order. Anyway, most of us on the same line were quite patient and while the other two registers were moving quickly, ours was not. So the manager came by and ushered us onto the shorter/moving lines. I guess everyone was being nice and didn't move off the line since no one wanted to look like they were line jumping. She got us moving in minutes and I ordered a dozen things (felt like I did given what I paid) for a family of four! The cool part, the medium sized drinks were larger than expected and so was the popcorn. So I was very happy with the sizes when I saw them. Anyway, onto the theater we went and sadly one casualty as I was taking off my jacket. I dropped all the corn dog nuggets!! I just bought them...dang it. I quickly ran outside to let someone know I dropped it and the person was so nice, took me over to the counter and they quickly replaced it. Relief!!! I paid way too much to have dropped it all. So clumsy of me. Also the other good experience was the theater, clean and comfy seats. All the buttons worked and the tables were moveable and not in the way. Side note: ladies room was clean and love that the bathroom hooks were not on the door! It was to the side... Safer and smarter, position wise. I was very pleased with my visit today. Midway is conveniently located near the 71st Ave/Continental subway stop in Forest Hills. And the Q60 bus stops right by the theater. They recently renovated and upgraded this theater. Now, you must choose your seats when purchasing tickets. The lobby looks the same but inside the theaters is where you'll see the updates that were made. The theaters are smallish but equipped with lazy boy seats in a stadium style seating. The black lazy boy seats are wide and very comfortable. The seats have attached movable food trays which is very convenient for eating while watching. The theaters and bathroom are clean. And the second floor is accessible via an elevator in the lobby. The concession stands in the lobby are usually the only ones open. As with most theaters, they offer some hot food items along with the usual popcorn, candy and nachos fare. I thought the pizza was actually not too bad here. The lines can get long very quickly for concessions. I don't know why they don't staff the concessions on the second floor to help alleviate the crowd downstairs. Or put more staff downstairs during busy times. Otherwise, I think this is a great theater to go to and would recommend it when in the area. read more

Nice theater, nice staff, a variety of films. 25 minutes of commercials and coming attractions may be overkill but it does let me know what films I should look out for in the near future. As I don't eat junk food I can't comment on their concession stand. All in all, an excellent experience and I hope people will support local movie theaters and keep them alive. read more

I still love going to the movies & watching on a big screen. And the Midway is still my favorite after many many years! The reclining chairs are a huge draw now too, with plenty of room if you need it. I, for one, love the coming attractions that have been a part of the movie experience since as long as I can remember & count on, if Im delayed or there's a line at the concession. This one day was horrible. Their concession food was horrible. If it isn't wrapped it's not good. The popcorn was cold and when you ask for it hot they mix it with the older one. The hot dogs was cold and the bread was hard (I don't know if they toasted it or let it sit out) and the Pizza - stay away from it if not made fresh - it must of been sitting there, and they won't reheat it. Literally frozen cold. They say they don't have a microwave. I spent $30 for garbage. I go to eat and chill at the theater often and when I experience this with the food it made the whole experience suck. And you can't do anything- these kids do not have any compassion. They work hard - I get it, but a lot of money is spent to have a chilled time and its disappointing when the food is less than remarkable. This is a management issue. So I know that I said the other theater in Queens is my favorite but I think I found a new favorite. I realize I cant go to a late movie during any school vacation anymore just because teenagers ruin every movie for me. I love them when I'm at work but not the movies. So after leaving the other movie theater 20 mins into Halloween, I wanted to try again the following day here before 7pm... lol. Talk about an upgrade! Recliner seats, tray for your goodies, & massive cup holders! They really have stepped up their appearance from the last time I was there. The other theater I left didnt have all this loveliness. So basically I'm running away from the other theater because they let teens in and ruin the movie experience (I'm sure I may have been the same way when I was younger tho, but not that obnoxious) and they have WAY better accommodations! See you there, but only if you're over 21 and know how to appreciate a movie ticket purchorse and stay off your phone during the movie! LOL read more

If you're comparing Apples to Oranges or this movie theater to another, there's clearly no comparison. It's awfully small but definitely a step up from the Main Street Cinema I grew up on as a kid. It may not be my first choice but it gets the job done. The worst part about this theater is the wait. The wait to purchase tickets (from my experience there's always one window open no matter how long the line is) -- the wait to be checked in -- and the wait to purchase food/beverages. One cool thing about this theater is that they a participate in the Regal Rewards which offers incentives. Such as small popcorn, small drink, or even memorabilia from a movie. read more

In a past life of adult times living in Forest Hills, this is the only theatre within walking distance for my tenure. I would patronize this theatre often for an after work date night with my former love in our glory days. My last visit at this theatre was "Superman Returns" on July 4, 2006. The seats are comfortable, it is quite ample for seating capacity and clean despite of the outside structure is very outdated. The Midway Theatre was designed in the Art Moderne style in 1942 by America's foremost theater architect, Thomas White Lamb. It was named after the Battle of Midway, soon after, victory was achieved. Mostly intact features include the limestone facade with its streamlined design, curved corner, accordion center, and illuminated vertical beacon, in addition to the central lobby in-the-round with domes, a sweeping staircase, and a picture window. Definitely the best theater in and around Fo' Hills. Good location near the bustling Austin Street area, with the best shot of finding something good to eat if you are in the Forest Hills area (e.g. the reputable Cheeburger Cheeburger a few doors down, and some of the best pizza in Queens at A&J a couple blocks away). They have some of the best popcorn here (with free refills of course), and they are always very nice and compliant with my favorite request for popcorn with no salt (this is an excellent tip, because they make you a brand new, fresh batch that is piping hot and delicious and not too salty). The theaters here are all nice and comfortable with good sized screens and have stadium seating, especially theaters 5 and 9, which are the two bigger theaters they have that play the newest releases. Definitely make sure you come here if you can, as opposed to the tiny, relatively depressing Brandon Cinemas a few blocks away. read more

I love the vidio games but what is the point if there arec5 machines and 3 of them Broken. As well the mashins look dirty with so much dust. This is my local movie theater (it's walking distance from my apartment) but that being said it's very accessible by mass transit, as there is a train station at the corner and a lot of buses that stop near the theater. Parking on the street can be tough but there is a lot on the block as well. The inside of the theater was renovated a few years back so now the theaters have those comfy reclining seats. The theaters are relatively small, but they're always clean. I usually go here during the week to avoid crowds, it's the perfect after work activity. read more
