Regal Oceanside, San Diego, CA The family and I had a nice time strolling downtown San Diego oceanfront. We decided to take in a movie and visited Regal Oceanside, from the outside the theater look grand however the lobby and showing rooms are dated... no reclining seat, no bar, no IMAX. The concession stand had a interesting variety of popcorn mixtures which I liked. Overall a fun time for all.

I went to a weekday matinee movie so the theater was not very crowded which was nice. The theater is a little older and there is lots of neon inside. A little sensory overload. The seats are not the recliner style I am used to in the newer theaters but it was not uncomfortable. The sound was extremely loud and actually painful. I thought it would get better when the previews ended and the movie started but it did not. Additionally, the theater was ice cold. I am someone who is never cold and it felt like a meat locker. I was surprised that nobody is coming in and checking the theaters for these issues. Staff was very limited and other than the snack bar, I only saw one employee who was taking tickets when we entered the main lobby. We were so uncomfortable we ultimately decided to leave as the movie was a bit of a disappointment as well.

Old theater, no luxury loungers, seats are tattered, good quality sounds but poor picture quality. Ticket price are kind of a little bit more than the nicer theaters I have been to. Could it be because of its location? Maybe... The auditorium we went to is big, a few seats were occupied. After the show, a custodian is waiting outside. Restrooms are clean and fully stocked. They have a few of them. Tickets are purchased at the concessions.

No A/C in the middle of summer. It was only slightly cool in the lobby where the A/C was apparently working.

The location is great since it's right at the mall, so there's plenty of parking and lots of food spots nearby before or after a movie. The leather recliner seats are super comfortable, the AC is usually nice and not too cold, and the staff has always been friendly whenever I've gone. My friends and I are obsessed with the $5 Mystery Movie Mondays and the discounted Tuesday tickets. I also really like the Regal app because it's easy to use and the rewards actually add up. I've redeemed points for free movie tickets and snacks a bunch of times already, and this month I even got a free small popcorn for my birthday. The only downside is that the concession lines can get ridiculously long and slow sometimes, especially on busy nights. Other than that, I definitely recommend this theater.

I saw ghost pepper popcorn displayed on the menu in honor of Scream 7. Went up to order some, and the girl said we don't carry that. Huh? Why is it on your menu then? She had no clue. She said pretzel bites are up there too, and we don't carry them. Again, huh? The seats in the theater were reclining, which was nice, but they weren't very roomy. I enjoyed the movie, but the overall experience was subpar.

They have quite an extensive menu if you want to snack or eat a meal during your movie. If you order the premium food, they bring it to your seat. They also offer alcohol. The popcorn includes self service butter. There is a big drink machine with so many options for different soda types. I ate the pretzel sticks, and they were absolutely delicious. Of course the popcorn is great! Prices are high, but that's how we roll in California. I did notice that their popcorn bags are much smaller and the candy bags too. I guess that's what they're doing instead of raising prices even more. On Tuesdays they do offer discounted tickets. We definitely try to take advantage of that whenever we can. The sound system and the movie screens are excellent quality. They show a good amount of previews, but that's probably the same everywhere. We bought our tickets at the theater, but you could also buy them online before the show. There was nobody working at the ticket counter and a sign said to use the self service kiosk. So, that's what we did and it was fine.

It's a gorgeous building with a cute little town center around it. We purchased tickets online so we could skip the ticket counter. When you walk in the ticket counter is behind you, so I could see how that would be a little confusing. Also the arcade is large and loud and very overstimulating upon arrival and my daughter wanted to go right into playing the games, I told her after the movie but since we had a later showing (8pm) the arcade was already closed when we were done. Next time I'll grab the card before so she can play after. We saw the minions movie in the regular theater, but are curious about checking out the kiddos theatre, at some point. They only offer certain times for that one. The theaters are large and spacious with plenty of room but def aging. The seats were a little worn out but totally fine to sit on for one movie. The recliners are a fun touch and so are the trays for snacks and drinks. All in all was a good first experience and would see a movie here again.

The seats recline, the theaters aren't overcrowded, and the snack selection is pretty good. I also enjoyed the refreshers. On my last two visits within the same month, the AC was not working properly. During The Odyssey, I sat through nearly three hours as the theater continued to get warmer. With the humidity we've been experiencing in San Diego, it was extremely uncomfortable. The same issue occurred during a movie I saw three weeks earlier, and the visit before that as well. At this point, I'm not sure if the AC is actually broken or if Cinepolis is simply not prioritizing the repair. If you're planning to see a movie during these hot summer months, I'd recommend calling ahead to confirm the AC is working in your theater. And don't be fooled by the freezing lobby--the individual theaters can be a completely different story.

A luxury movie experience one needs every now and then, this THE LOT location in LJ with upscale,…read moreclean, and comfortable environs perfect for serving that desire. The Lot is very unique in that they not only serve as a movie theater, but have a full-service dinner and bar area as well. Adjoining ASA Bakery is also on-site, serving creative, too-pretty-to-eat pastries and matcha drinks. Honestly, the $24 price tag for a movie experience might seem steep, but other movies theaters are in and around that price anyways. At The Lot, at least you're getting comfortable, plush seats, a seemingly private viewing experience with your partner in your recline-ready love seat, food and drink wait service at your seat (if you desire it), and superb picture with okay enough sound. On that note, some cons: -We recently watched The Odyssey and some of the scenes were blaringly LOUD to the point where my ears felt like they could bleed. They do not divulge their sound system either, only that it's "high-end". The sound could definitely use better balance. -Mentioned love seats are very apparent upon booking now, making selection easy with no confusion. The theaters do cater to them so if you're in a group, you'll feel far from them. -Try as we might to pay in person, we could not avoid the service fee applied to all sales. Service fees are my biggest gripe, enough to teeter this rating. The atmosphere though is rather spectacular, so some things are to be ignored. -No true matinee prices unless you're a member. $20-22, otherwise, on Wednesday's for non-members.

I really enjoy the experience of The Lot, but between this location and the one on Liberty Station,…read morethe service always leaves something to be desired. Each visit (three separate occasions), something I've ordered was either forgotten or brought out very late. On this particular visit (Fri, July 3rd), I went to see a movie for my birthday. Unfortunately, due to public transportation, I was unable to make it to the theater as early as I wanted. My movie started @ 1:30, but I didn't make it inside until about 1:40 or so. The trailers were still playing, but the lights were off inside and the other guests seemed to already have their food/drinks. So, I attribute some of the mishap to that. However, there were less than ten people in the theater. So, keep that in mind as well. I ordered poke nachos, a popcorn, and a soda. Pretty simple order, right? My "host" brought out the popcorn + drink pretty swiftly. The popcorn tasted stale, just like another time I'd visited. Even though I'm pretty sure their 1:30 movies are their first showing. About halfway through the movie, I pressed the call button because I still hadn't received my nachos. The host said, "They might be ready now. Let me check." Translation: "I forgot them." That was pretty annoying. Especially as this is the third time something like this has occurred at The Lot. And I've only been three times in total. Luckily, the popcorn was free because it was my birthday, which I had to remind the host twice before he tried charging me. Do not order it unless you enjoy stale popcorn. The nachos and ginger ale were tasty, though. Overall, the vibe/setup is nice for viewing films. I only which the service and attention to detail was better.
