The ambiance here is amazing, its in the heart of Oceanside with many restraints and places to shop around, literally right down the street from the beach if u want to take a stroll after ur movie. The decor inside is nostalgic and has a warm feel to it, the staff was helpful and left us alone for the most part which I like. The seats in this theatre are comfy, my only complaint is they are fairly close to each other with not that much leg room. I didn't like how they kept the bathroom doors completely open, I was reapplying lipstick and I could see people outside walking past the door. As an AMC lover, this was definitely a different, more nostalgic movie theatre experience. I hope they keep this theatre here, truly a great addition to the heart of Oceanside. I would hate to see it overtaken by apartments or more shops. read more

I went to a weekday matinee movie so the theater was not very crowded which was nice. The theater is a little older and there is lots of neon inside. A little sensory overload. The seats are not the recliner style I am used to in the newer theaters but it was not uncomfortable. The sound was extremely loud and actually painful. I thought it would get better when the previews ended and the movie started but it did not. Additionally, the theater was ice cold. I am someone who is never cold and it felt like a meat locker. I was surprised that nobody is coming in and checking the theaters for these issues. Staff was very limited and other than the snack bar, I only saw one employee who was taking tickets when we entered the main lobby. I walked into the movie theater, none of their personal greeted me. I had to walk up to them and they still thought I was invisible. I asked how much is it to see a movie. I'm a senior citizen and he's trying to explain matinee prices. I said okay what's the price for the matinee? It depends on the movie he says. The seats are old and worn... also small by today's standards. It's fine if not many people are there but it can be a bit claustrophobic during a sold out or near full screening. Went to the Regal in Oceanside and was shocked to see mold on the ceiling inside the theater. I have asthma, and the air quality was so bad it triggered nonstop coughing and even made me throw up in the bathroom. I took photos because it was that noticeable. In town on a quick vacation and decided to go see the new TMNT movie. It's the only theater in town and parking is hard to find as it is on a very busy street. There was nothing exciting about this theater - nothing that stood out. I will say that the theater was freezing which is great considering it is the middle of summer and most theaters keep the temperature pretty warm. As many others have said, this theater does need some upgrades, but since I was only in town for a short trip, I doubt I will be back to this location again! read more

This theater needs a major update, and has some other problems. Okay, so I don't really care about cosmetic upgrades to movie theaters but this theater definitely seems a little outdated. It could easily use a refresher just in its appearance and the way that everything looks. Even the chairs themselves in the theaters are old, worn, and it just seen some better days. Another big issue that I have with this location, is that there's no parking. Now, there is a community lot about a block to the south east, but I don't think that regal should get credit for that. It's annoying to want to go to a movie and not be able to park your car. I understand that this is an issue with downtown Oceanside in general, but maybe don't put a theater here. The last thing is just unique to me and my experience, I was standing in line to buy a ticket, and there were two attendants working behind the counter. I waited for a while while they helped another party, and then when they were finished another group of people just walked up right past me, and the two attendance didn't say anything or mention that I had been there first. now this might not be a big deal, but I know that both of the attendants were aware that I was there and aware that I was waiting. I shouldn't have to fight for my place in line, with other people that are coming to the theater, that should be part of what you as the attendance are doing. read more

This is the worst Regal we have ever been to. It reminds us of a dollar movie theater. Nothing is updated, everything has a wet feel to it, the floors are sticky, the chairs are old school stadium seating with rips and stains on them. You would think they would want to update this theater since it's so close to the beach and lots of tourist visit here. For the experience that you get the tickets are WAY over priced. One of our friends warned us about going to this theater saying she didn't feel safe in the theater. Won't ever come back to this one unless they update it. read more

Nice retro vibes here. Came here to see the new Bob Marley movie and the theater was empty. Which is a shame because I love the theater. We are Regal Unlimited members. For $23.50 per month (minimum of 3mos per subscription period) we can see.. you guessed it.. UNLIMITED MOVIES. We are able to secure 3 tickets at a time per unlimited subscription. One subscription per person is necessary, so that should be noted. Okay now onto the actual theater... It's clean. They have reserved seating. The AC works. Concessions are as expected. Staff is nice. Can't speak to parking as we walk from our house. I will say, on more than one occasion, we've had to address the extremely high volume of the movie/previews. They resolve the issue quickly though. (And when I say extremely high I mean like make your ears ring and give you a headache high--a million times worse than a concert loud.) Overall, great value. Combined, we spend $47 for my husband and I per month and see 4 movies (8 tickets). When tickets are $9-12... well, the unlimited subscription makes sense--AND IT WORKS AT ALL REGAL LOCATIONS NATIONWIDE. read more

The biggest downfall was that it smelled terribly in the theater. A cross between spoiled milk and smelly feet. To sit there for nearly 3 hours to endure this stink is the last thing I want to do. I can only imagine that this odor is from how unkept and dirty this place is. We walked from our resort, so the location is desirable, and parking issues that others have complained about were not a concern. I hope they save this place and recognize how badly improvements are needed. If you must, bring sanitizing wipes, a good smelling blanket, and cover up your nose, but why go through the trouble. read more

Very hard to park nearby unless you can find a pay lot. No one at the ticket stand in front. Tried to get our reserved tickets from a kiosk inside but they all were non-operational. Went to concession stand to ask for tickets but the lines were about ten minutes long. Looked for a ticket-take to ask but no one was around. Eventually just gave up and went inside without tickets, dodging gangs of teens running around wild. The theater was okay if basic, but painfully loud: 97dB! As my watch kept warning me, "Repeated, long-term exposure to sounds at this level can damage your hearing your hearing" -- and *permanently*, according to various websites! The movie was okay (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) but overpriced, and nothing I wouldn't mind waiting a few months to see online. read more

Upright seats were modern-day torture devices, screen quality was extremely poor - dark, grainy and out of focus, like a rented too many times VHS tape from an 80's Blockbuster. We went to a late afternoon showing during a cold spell; there were 6 people in the showing. We asked staff to please turn on heat, as we were all shivering. After an hour into the movie, we were still not any more comfortable. Again, we asked staff to please turn on heat, as it was about 56° outside and much cooler in the enclosed theatre. The response was, "I'll have to ask the Manager." Perhaps, it's the place to go in the summer for your viewing pleasure, although, I forgot to mention the sewage smell upon entering the lobby from the fresh clean beach air! It is such a joy to have movie theaters open again! I drove all the way from North Orange County to see Tenet here. I purchased my tickets on the Regal app but you can buy tickets in person at the concession stand. Parking was a little difficult to find only because there were no clear signs or directions. You can park in a structure for free located at 290 Seagaze Drive. It is about a five walk from the parking garage to the entrance. The theatre was pretty empty and they are doing staggered seating for social distancing. I couldn't tell if the concessions were open or not. I did notice that the arcade games were off limits of course. It was so nice to be back in a theater! read more

So my honey and I went on a date night. As you walk up to the movie the movie theater it looks large and has many great restaurants surrounding it from sushi to mexican and a great burger place up the street. The woman at the teller was friendly and made nice conversation of places she enjoys to eat nearby (she was very helpful in choosing our dinner spot. Now before the movie we walked inside the building and there was no one to check our tickets which was strange as every movie theater I've been to has. This place was not busy for a Saturday night at all and no likes for popcorn. We went to see a movie that has been out for some time so that is why we had to come to this theater as this movie is about to end in theaters. So we walk inside to our movie theater and it gave me excitement as movie theaters do, getting excited to watch the trailers and pick our seats. This is when things turned out weird. We were the first to sit and as we walked up the seat we saw a seat covered with a burlap bag and it was apparent the seat was broken. Then as we looked up, two rows of at least 8 seats above that were topped off with cation tape, and it definitely was the best seating in the theater that was out of order. Next we walked in the row we chose and it was apparent the seats were all old and dingy, I was actually afraid to have my hair on these seats but they had a final at the top. There are two sets of cup holders for every seat so you can have the arm rests up if and still have a place to put your drinks, however I had to use 2 hands to put my arm rest down because it was so hard to move. And the other cup holders has grime and old popcorn in them. The lower cup holders cut right into your leg if trying to snuggle next to your partner so I had to put my jacket there to make it more comfortable. The only nice thing here was the movie theater screen and quality of picture as well as sound so that part was helpful I distracting you from the grossness you sat in. When we left the movie theater we saw two employees and no one said anything or said "goodnight" and it looked like the entire place had shut down. If it wasn't for the employees we saw, we would have thought we got locked into this closed theater as all the lights were off and not one customer was inside. This was my first time at this theater and do not plan to return. I arrived at 6:45 and no popcorn. Ok it happens. Got the nachos not expecting much but not expecting it to be inedible. Then when I entered the auditorium there was trash everywhere. I was shocked at how much trash I had to step over to get to my seat. I understand its hard to get people to work and cinemas are struggling to stay open, but the trash is unacceptable. Also this location desperately needs an upgrade. Lets start with the good. This movie theater is in downtown Oceanside so theres tons of food options around. Easy to grab dinner, dessert or snacks before or after. Also, the tickets are a little cheaper than other move theaters, and theres pleny of showtimes. Pretty easy to get tickets. The bad. It is an older theater. Been here forever. It needs an update, the seats are still the older kind that aren't as comfy and don't recline. It's not a deal breaker for me, because that's what makes it cheaper and less busy. And it's not like the seats are uncomfortable, just not as fancy as the newer theaters. Still worth catching movies here. read more
