This used to be our favorite theater to visit. The seats are great. It is small but comfortable and there are fun games out front to play. The staff has always been friendly. However today, I had a very strange experience that left us unsatisfied. I went with my elderly mother, my daughter and her dear friend. For the first time ever there was a woman at the front who said she needed to check our bags in a very aggressive manner. As I pulled my purse off my shoulder to let her check I asked her curiously why. She said to check for alcohol and drugs. My teen daughter was very put off by the staff member's tone of voice and demeanor. So was I. I told the manger that I wanted a refund and that I was insulted by the staff member's manners and for thinking we would have drugs or alcohol in our purses. There were other people that went in before us whose bags were not checked. Now before you think that we might have been dressed in a manner that looked like we did drugs, or had eyes all whacked out or looked drunk or any thing like that - the answer is we did not in anyway. We have gone to this theater for at least a decade and never, not one single time did our bags ever get checked for drugs and alcohol. I don't know if that area has become over ridden of drugs and alcohol or they have new management or what the thinking is. We left because we felt insulted. If they have a new policy they should have a message in their app (when tickets are purchased) saying all customers will be searched for drugs and alcohol. And a big sign outside as well. And then literally check ALL customers because they did not check others that were there. read more

The lost money was credited back into rewards. My daughter suggested I log into my account.... and then found that I had extra rewards added to my account. She also advised me to add an app to my phone. When I went in person to the theater, the manager was very helpful with checking in and ordering the snacks. I really appreciated him. Takeaways: I deleted the Regal App from my phone, but there is no way to deleted my account. It is necessary to send a message to request cancellation. THAT IS WRONG! This theater is old and worn. The reclining seats are old old school with a pull lever to make them recline. The "leather" covering the seats are cracked and dry. They scratch your legs are are just uncomfortable. Going to a movie these days is expensive and if I'm paying $100.00 for a family of three I expect the theater to be at least comfortable. I've valued Regal theaters in the past - especially like the ability to reserve seats online for reclining seats. This theater does not live up to my expectations: 1) Not in a nice area of town. 2) Overwhelming smell of popcorn and stale grease when entering. 3) Two or 3 metal benches were not inviting while waiting for theater to open. 4) Reservation system worked well - but the seats were very "old-style" recliners: difficult to operate. 5) Theater 8 (where we saw our movie) had an "odd" smell initially. The movie made me forget the smell. 6) The ladies room was nasty: one toilet clogged, at least one sink didn't work, another sink had no soap. read more

I am a fan of the Regal Oakmont. The reclining seats are really wide & comfortable. The restrooms are always clean & the concession stand lines aren't ever long. Just like most movie theatres, pricing is a bit high for drinks & snacks. Purchasing tickets online before you go is easy on fandango, or you can use the digital screen right when you arrive. Well, this place could really use a serious update. The chairs in the theater are old. The leather is cracked and it hurts your legs when you sit on it they are not comfortable anymore. This place only has two bathrooms in the whole place and only four stalls in the women's bathroom so when the movie let out it's a forever long line. I will not be back to this theater. While I fully understand that the movie theater business has been hit incredibly hard the last 2+ years, that doesn't absolve the management from allowing this theater to go so far down hill. I've probably been going here for 6 or 7 years and have always enjoyed the smaller theaters, the reclining seats and the short distance from the front door to the theater rooms. Lately, since it reopened it has just continued to go down hill. Several of the seats don't recline, everything looks shabby and disheveled, the theater rooms aren't super clean, etc. I do like that they offer the ability to purchase tickets and select a specific seat online. Went to a 10oclock R rated movie tonight (Thanksgiving) asked if I could buy two drinks at once was informed that they could only sell one to each person, I drank my drink before the movie even started- went to get another one and was told that I had to wait 45 minutes before I could purchase another one; even though the concession closed 15 minutes before I was able to purchase another one. The manager Michael then got rude and told me that the store would be audited and would get in trouble. Last time I'm ever coming to this theater, I spent a good $70 on tickets, popcorn, candy, soda and my first and only round of drinks. This place has really gone down hill. Recliners are getting old and cracked, floors are constantly dirty and bathrooms are atrocious. But I can't buy a second beer? Weird. Wouldn't recommend. read more

The regal cinemas claim to have best quality but having the picture being blurry and you can see red around wording on the screen like this is a 2000's plasma TV I'm better off waiting on a movie at home. Going to the bathroom before and after the movie is necessary. Went to the bathroom prior to the 3 hour Batman movie and it was absolutely disgusting. Went to the bathroom after the 3 hour movie and even more disgusting. We went at 9:30 and got out at 12 and no one cleaned at all. The mirror looked like it hasn't been wiped in weeks. Very unsanitary. It's sad because the movie theater business is going away especially if the bathroom is not properly maintenance. First time going back since covid and let's just say I'm not going back. Oh AND 3 out of the 5 stalls had NO TOILET PAPER. I was visiting a friend inBradenton and we decided to catch a movie and found this theater close by. There is plenty of parking spaces and easy to find. Ticket buying was quick and easy. They have reclining seats so it is assigned seating. The guy at the ticket box was super friendly and kind. I highly recommend having their rewards card! Each time you buy a ticket, you get points and redeem it for rewards like a free small drink or popcorn! The line to the concession stand was a bit long but my friend and I decided to wait because we didn't mind skipping the trailers. And with the seats already reserved, you don't have to worry about fighting for the good seats. I used my rewards card for a small drink and I totally forgot how these drinks are HUGE! I could barely grip it in one hand! We found our theater and there is plenty of space to walk to your seat. And the reclining seats were awesome! Super spacious and clean! I was able to enjoy my movie very comfortably. My only complaints are that the bathrooms could be a bit dirty and the concession stand could get slow. Other than that, it was a great experience. My friend and I will still make the trip to this theater if we wanted another movie night! read more

Honestly not sure what kind of theaters people have been in before / other than this one. I'd hardly call these seats reclining and they're hard and uncomfortable. If you like a pull tab manual recliner with a short leg piece that doesn't stay up under your weight and stiff cushions then this is your spot. And if you do...seat in front of you blocks the screen (I'm 5'10"). Can't pull up the armrest for a loveseat either. What a joke. Went for the new avatar movie and for more than 30 minutes there was a women with small children in the front playing loud music and videos. The manager came in not once, but twice and failed to talk to them! I asked after and more than 3 others came out during the movie to ask them to be removed. It got to the point that even other patrons in the theater started to yell at them. Nothing was done by management. It was totally unacceptable and I will never return if this is a normal occurrence to ignore when MULTIPLE different people come to talk to a manager. read more

It's official. This is my go to movie theatre. The employees here are genuinely kind and offer assistance anytime you need it. It's not the biggest theatre around, it can only hold a handful of showings, and it's not appealing from the outside. However, none of that really matters when you get inside. Recliner seats!!! Yes, I know. This isn't a brand new idea, but that doesn't make it any less amazing. Most theaters will charge you out the you know what for a more comfortable seat. So it's nice to know that every showing will have them. I also think it's ingenious that you have to pick your seats no matter what movie you're watching. Other theaters often require you to do so for IMAX 3D and the like, but here you actually do it for any movie you watch. It makes the wait to get your snacks not as stressful knowing that you've got your seats reserved. Oh, did I mention the biggest Icees in the history of Icees? $6 scores you a ridiculously large cup (see photo) that's more than enough for you and your date to share (I'm looking at you fellow men, just saying, golden opportunity). Kidding aside, I'll always go here for the new movies. The only gripe I have is that they don't have any IMAX screenings so I still have to go elsewhere for the big superhero flicks. That's not really their fault though so I can't blame them for that. This is in my opinion, the best theatre in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. read more

What a truly pleasant surprise. The theater has recently been renovated and it is fantastic. The seats are wide and comfortable. And to top it off they recline, which makes movie watching fantastic. This bigger space also means that your active toddler will have plenty of room to fidget without disturbing the neighbors! The large seats mean less people in the theater which makes a more personal feel. The sound quality and the display quality were very high. No complaints about the theater at all. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. We'll definitely be coming back to this location on our future vacations. read more

This was an awesome movie-going experience! You pre-select your actual seats when you pre-purchase your tickets through Fandango (aka assigned seating). I'm not quite sure how the theater manages to turn a profit though: the seats *fully recline*, which is pretty sweet but obviously means less seats fit in the theater which in turn means less tickets sold for each screening. I double checked my receipt and I paid even less that I would for an evening showing in NYC. My regular adult ticket was $10. Also, bare in mind that this is Bradenton/Sarasota where there is an overwhelming senior population and they receive a discounted ticket price of $7! Regardless of how the theater manages to stay afloat, it was an incredible experience and has surely ruined any/all future theater outings for me. read more

This is the closest movie near my place. I love the recliner chairs in the movie theater. I highly recommend to join the Cobb Regal Crown Club to collect points and use rewards for drinks and popcorn. You do have to come early to get tickets for good seating. I love going to the Regal Cinemas Oakmont 8! This place gets an A+ for comfortable reclining chairs! You have plenty of room to stretch out and really enjoy your movie! The theater is nice overall and the big perk is you can select your movie on fandango and select your seats! They also have electronic ticketing so you just use your phone to get in! Even when a movie is sold out you feel like you are not crammed into a dark dungeon with a bunch of strangers. You can get up during the movie if you need and still get around other folks with their chairs reclined. If you want to get even more comfy bring a small pillow and blanket and really curl up and relax! It is the best way to see a movie! The sound system and projection is state of the art. Every movie I have seen there has been in 4K with digital sound! I've also watched several 3D movies here and they are always great too! read more

The food is a little expensive but what movie theatre isn't? They have a good number of screens so they have new movies when they come out. The reclining seats are so comfortable and awesome for cuddling. In paired seats, you can lift up the cup holder and itll make a couch for you. This is the most comfortable movie theatre I've been in. Totally crazy comfortable reclining chairs. You have to pick your seats like going to the theatre. But lots of room. You don't have to move when someone. Reds to come down your aisle or leave in the middle of the flick to go potty. We were like giddy children with the chairs. So roomy. Cup holders. And recliners. Work of advice - have your date hold your popcorn when you pop up the leg rest. I lost a flip flop - went flying over head when I popped my leg rest. The movie theatre is convenience. Parking lot parking. Not much else going on in the plaza. Was warm at first but seems like the AC came on when the movie started. Staff was pleasant. Certainly helpful as they realized it was our first time and were perplexed by picking out seats. Popcorn isn't awesome. I'd probably skip it next time which is a HUGE deal for me. And even though it's been months since I've had any it's important to note Come not Pepsi is served. I'll definitely head back. I love the seats and that I can choose my spot. This was one of the coolest movie experiences I've ever had. I've never been in a theater like this...the seats are giant leather chairs that recline. Almost to the point where you're laying down. It was crazy. And you choose your seats when you book your ticket so there's no fighting for the best seat in the house. I wish they had more theaters like this. Subtracted one star because the front concession stand area could use a bit of updating but great feedback overall. Gotta find more places like this. read more
