It was really hot outside (July) and even though the venue had its large doors open, the air conditioning kept it very comfortable. The bartender was friendly and the full liquor bar is actually covered by palms to give it a tiki-hut 'look'. There are 12 beer taps, lots of pool tables, a juke box, big screen t.v.'s, and smoking is welcome inside. Add in clear plastic beer cups, a men's room without a mirror, lots of JORTS, and you're officially in this dive bar. But that's ok because it's fun, and prices are decent. And the Pecan Pie with vanilla Ice cream is very good (in truth the pie is pecan covered on top but the pie filling is just a sugary gelatinous filling and could be improved....but it was slightly warmed and was very nice. They have an area in near the back which includes seating, but it's used for karaoke on Saturday nights, the DJ who runs it, does a nice job along with the songs and words printed out in several places for the singer to follow along and sing. What was interesting, some of the Locals show up dressed in costumes. Hilarious. One thing I didn't like was I'm from up north, and you can't light up a cigarette anywhere in the Midwest, as it's been banned. Here in Florida or at least in this bar, people smoke wherever.
