The dude scanning tickets rudely berated my family for using the bathroom. He told my girlfriend and her sister "You have to have a ticket to use the restroom, or you have to ask me. This is your only warning." Didn't even ask if we had a ticket. During our movie he proceeded to walk the aisles frequently, and it felt like he was staring. My family spent over $100 at this theater and we use the regal movie pass. I didn't catch the man-child's name, and you won't catch us back at this theater. read more

I enjoyed a matinee today in an extremely comfy recliner seat. There is so much space that nobody needs to put their butt right indirect of you to walk by. The seats are comfy but have Been through a lot and definitely need refurbished. There are cuts and holes on them. The theater is clean and it was nice to see it at an opening show. I got a completely different glimpse of it. The parking is hard to find at times but it's nice to be able to reserve your seats online! read more

Great movie choices. The concession stand is very expensive, ie over 10$$$$$ for a small popcorn That's not even fresh. The theaters appear relatively clean but the seats are very worn to the point of appearing gross and disgusting. Many of the seats are broken. Favorite theater in town! Reclining seats and the best popcorn. We are Regal members so we enjoy up to 3 movies a week for $18/month. As such, we frequent this theater and have had great experiences. Their largest popcorn and drink come with free refills, so come hungry! They have your typical butter and seasonings for popcorn, as well as a variety of candy. They even have pretzels! Certainly a top notch snack bar. There is the option to book seats in advance and have your tickets when you get there. Do this! Saves so much time. Minus one star because on *two* occasions there has been (what sounds like) a cricket chirping for the entirety of the movie. Odd, right? Annoying and distracting but not enough to impact that much. I just don't know if its a common issue here but it does irritate you once you notice it. read more

Recliners are disgusting. For the price you pay for tickets and food/drink you'd think they would replace these chairs. The entire theater we were in needs chair replacement. There's no way to clean them in the current condition. This place is a germ incubator. read more

A nasty turn in weather redirected me from the beach to this nearby theater. The movie theater business is in a strange place right now, and I hadn't been to see a movie in person in well over a year. But this ended up being a pretty good call. I had reclining seats, and unsurprisingly the place was not crowded. Even if there had been, though, there was plenty of room to stretch out, and though I ended up in a smaller screen there wasn't a bad seat in it. Ticketing was 100% by machine with one solitary person collecting tickets. Though there were certainly concessions available, I would sooner rummage around the neighborhood before or after. If this is the future of moviegoing, I'm not sure it's really sustainable. The trailers didn't impress me for where the movie business is headed, and I have a hard time seeing that I'd pay for a ticket on a nicer weather day. However, it was nice to see a movie on the big screen, and it was a better experience than watching it at home (and a better experience than being on the beach in a thunderstorm). read more

This is a nice theatre. Very clean and staff was friendly. A small drink and zebra popcorn cost $15.50. My friend had not been here before and loved the reclining seats. Full disclosure - I'm a big fan of Regal Cinemas, and I have been for many, many years. In Atlanta, where I lived for two decades, I was lucky to have two Regal theaters within three miles of my home. One specialized in art house films (Regal Tara) and the other in mainstream movies (Regal Atlantic Station.) Since my husband and I moved to Holden Beach, our nearest Regal Cinema is at the Mayfaire shopping center, over thirty miles away. Mayfaire has many pluses: large, comfortable reclining chairs; clean theaters and restrooms; helpful and friendly staff; plenty of nearby parking; and lots of great movies. We recently met my parents on a weekday for the 12:05 PM showing of BlacKkKlansman, the newest Spike Lee Joint, after an early lunch at Brixx across the street. That's another great thing about Regal Mayfaire -- all the great eating and shopping available mere steps from the theater. Dont go to Terrifier 3 expecting it to actually be "not rated". Apparently they are treating it as NC-17, not R!! They will kick you out even if you are a consenting parent with your under 17 child. If they are going to do this they can at least make it clear on the WEBSITE that they are treating it as a rated movie, before people buy tickets and waste their time coming in. We love this theater because of the reclining chairs and the ability to purchase specific seats instead of searching for chairs together. Welp, wife went online to get our three seats and the regular theater couldn't accommodate at the time we wanted so we upgraded to IMAX. I have heard that IMAX is supposed to be awesome so I figured that Black Panther and our situation was as good as any to upgrade. Weird thing is that the theater has the purchasing windows in the front but now they have signs to buy tickets inside. I get this as the weather gets colder but the problem is that the tickets are purchased at the snack kiosks. It already takes a bit to buy your snacks so not sure how smart the decision to move ticket purchasing inside was. While we are on the subject of snacks, could we get fresh popcorn for $8 please! I purchased the Regal movie plan where you can watch as many movies as you want for $20. I should be able to get my monies worth in the next three months. As for the IMAX movie, we got a right corner rear seat on the second from the last row. Little did we realize that this IMAX theater had ginormous speakers on the back corners that were going to boom the sound. I love a good loud movie but this was a bit ridiculous. It sounded and felt like the two rear speakers were the only ones pushing sound out in the theater. The previews were almost unbearable and wife had mentioned she may not be able to finish watching if it was going to continue like that. Luckily, the movie was loud but not as bad as the previews. We sucked it up for the 2 hour 41 min movie. We also did not understand what the hype about IMAX is. Theater was no different...except for the speaker situation which was annoying not immersive. The theater had nice rocking seats but we miss our recliners in the regular theaters. I recommend not going to an IMAX movie here. Tickets are more expensive and there is no real benefit. read more

We watched the new Top Gun movie. We've not been to a movie since mid 2019. We purchased our seats in advance. The row we got was almost the last row. When I looked online, I thought they were just showing the center area seats. It turns out the room was pretty small. Next time I'll get seats a couple of rows forward so that we're looking directly across, rather than down-ward. I loved the reclining seats! Very comfortable. Overall, a nice experience. I'm a Regal Unlimited member, which means that I can see as many movies as I want, whenever I want, for $18 a month. There are some upcharges for 3D and IMAX. I treat myself to a movie every Monday night and am almost always the only one in whatever theater I'm in. I call it "Movie Monday." I go out to dinner by myself and then hit up the Regal. It's perfect me-time. The seats in the regular theaters are reclining and spacious. The facility has always been clean when I go, but I do go on low-traffic nights. The only time that there was a technical issue where the IMAX movie got interrupted for 15 mins, they gave us all free IMAX tickets. Concessions are expensive. I get 10% off because I'm Regal Unlimited. If you participate in the Crown Club (free rewards program), you can use your rewards points for concessions items and free movie tickets. I'll always get myself a tiny glass of complementary water, just in case I need it. Otherwise, I try to save my money by eating beforehand. One issue that I used to have is that I dated a girl who needed the assistive listening device and the captioning tool. It is awesome that they have these (some theaters don't), but I found myself having to run out to switch devices for her almost every time because they weren't working. Even after swapping out devices, they didn't end up working around 25% of the time. Overall, I really enjoy this theater and will continue to go there every week until I move to High Point at the end of the year. Look out Regal Cinemas Palladium- I'm coming for you! read more

We came here for a date night to see the new Indy film. I heard Stone Theatre was the place to go. I heard Regal lost its shine. Well the kids working the entrance and a few at the concession looked like a bag of tools. What happened to look sharp at work? We went into our theatre and the smell of old shoes hots you. Our seats were worn out and we both sank in them when we sat down. They did the refurbishment just before Covid. So who is minding the store? Very disappointed and they wonder why people choose to stay home and watch from the comfort of their sofa? read more

My last two visits to see a movie we had to wait in the "Refreshments" line to purchase our tickets. All of the people in front of us, in the long line, were getting drinks and snacks. The people working there were in absolutely no hurry to fill their orders either and they seemed to have no personality. What happened to the ticket window??? Yes, I know it's best to purchase tickets online now but those times were more spontaneous. You should not have to wait in the same line to purchase tickets as those getting all the refreshments!! read more

This theater is nice - love the reclining seating but the concession is SOOO SLOW!!! There doesn't seem to be any motivation from the staff to work quickly thereby leaving long lines that can take up to 30 mins to get through - this has been true the last several times we have been there. Also the "incentive" Regal popcorn and soda that promotes "free refills" each time you use it is not being explained well. I bought the package thinking I was saving money only to find out that it will cost another $10 to refill both on any other day we attend. At least the lobby was clean. I recently joined friends to see ASTEROID CITY at the Mayfaire Regal Theater and was embarrassed by how much the place is rundown. This is supposed to be a great theater with reserved seating in recliner type seats. I didn't even want to sit down. The cup holders were dirty and had discarded plastic wrappers in them. The seats themselves were BEYOND worn. It looks as though the cleaning crew is using a product that removes the finish off the pleather reclining seats. They look atrocious. Poor form Regal. I will go to Stone Theaters across town from now on. The Regal is less than a mile from my home but I choose to go somewhere clean to see a film on the big screen. Why do movie theaters in amerunot consider and implement an intermission of 10 minutes. It's a win win - more revenue as people refill soda and snacks. The people get to go the restroom without missing parts of the movie. I don't get it. You know who does? Foreign theaters. Definitely my favorite theater in Wilmington! I think they top the others as they have the recliner seats. Another great feature is that you can reserve your seats ahead of time which is very helpful when traveling in groups. This theater is tucked behind the Mayfair Forum, which is super convenient when you're in the area. You can shop, eat, and watch a movie, all in the same area. You never have to worry about parking as there is plenty in and around the forum. I would also recommend checking out their rewards program for different perks and incentives! read more
