The theater is okay. Both theaters in Davis are just okay. There's no stadium seating, and it feels relatively small. My favorite thing about Davis on Tuesday are the cheap movies - it used to be cheaper but prices are slowly creeping up. It's only $5.50 for movies that's been out for 3+ weeks. It ALWAYS packed on these Tuesdays! I come at least 45 minutes early because I find myself waiting in line forever or trying to find parking. Plus if you come early, you can seat somewhere you want. I parked in the theater lot and I forgot how small the parking spaces are, and it was packed too! I like that there are 3 minute parking spots right in front of the theater. I bought my $5.50 tickets at least an hour early (or earlier in the day) using the 3 minute parking spot, and I didn't have to worry about waiting in line when I got there. However, it took me awhile to find parking. read more

Me and my family happened to watch the Shazam movie, at 11pm exactly, there was some technical difficulties and the manger (I don't know his name, but was wearing a yellow plaid shirt, rectangular glasses, clean shaven head guy, no disrespect to him, I just didn't get his name because of that) tried his best to resolve it by giving us free tickets for the next one but we requested a refund, and yet somehow he said he couldn't do that for us for the 9:15 showing of Shazam, it didn't clearly make sense the fact he rewind the movie by an hour long back so that was very inconvenient but next time, I would advice the manager to please always do a check up with a maintenance guy for these situations to avoid future customer complainants like this next time, I appreciate the fact he was trying his best but there was no excuse about this whatsoever the fact that it did happened. Just voicing my advice and opinions through this issue. But right now everything is a little bit okay though since the wait wasn't like an hour or more. But please be prepared next time, again I have no hard feeing towards them but early preparations are a huge must if a business does not want a bad reputation. But I wish you guys a great day and hope you guys can take it to heart with the advice. read more

This place is really clean, but the theatre is SO small! I would recommend that you get there at least 30 minutes early to get a great seat, and this theatre doesn't have stadium flooring! Parking really sucks, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings! Oh, and they offer a regals crown club (rewards card) and they give really great rewards, (I've gotten a free small popcorn, and a free drink!) Also, if you want to save money, I would recommend waiting two weeks after a movie has come out to get the movie ticket for $5! OR, you could head on over to the costco in woodland and get a pair of tickets for $15! read more

Old theater with small theaters but a great Tuesday night $5 ticket deal for movies that have been out for a few weeks already (3-D movies are only $8.50). This theater and the one on G Street both have such discount pricing on Tuesdays. You can check if the movie you want to see is $5 on Fandango which is nice. They also honor student and military discounts as well. You're not going to find a spectacular arcade or anything but this humble little theater is fine for a small college town movie now and then. The parking garage is a challenge to navigate but after 6pm most parking around downtown is free. read more

As a frequent moviegoer, I really appreciate an theater only a few blocks away from where I live. There's a parking lot attached to the theater where 3 hour parking is available. It can get really full at times but I've been able to find a spot everytime so far. Maybe a couple rounds around the lot would help. This may not be as big as other theaters that I've been too but it's perfect. There's little mini arcade that isn't anything special but still something there. Snacks are always available and pretty decent. Butter with popcorn = yummy in my tummy... and a large coke wouldn't hurt if you're sharing... yeah "sharing" :D. This place is fairly clean (bathrooms too) and the seating is pretty spacious. The theater does get pretty cold at times so it wouldn't hurt to have a light sweater. Sometimes you can get free movie tickets if you donate blood, always a nice option to have, helping someone out and getting a free movie! read more

It's a very small theater, which isn't a bad thing. I was able to walk in and realize the person I was looking for hadn't sat down yet. The food is overpriced as normal, but they have it so if you are needing something it's there. The seats are very comfortable and the screen is the right size. The sound isn't too loud, which made the movie very enjoyable. The bathrooms weren't crowded, which was a shock. I walked in and several stalls were open both times. They have some vending machines in the bathroom, but they only took quarters. I only had bills on me so that was sad. I'd come back. They had the movie I wanted to watch at a reasonable time. A much better option then Sac as they didn't have the moving playing. Food places are close by so we were able to entertain ourselves for an hour before the show started. read more

Watched a horror movie the other day and it was ten times more entertaining because all the college kids come here Saturday night. Paying for movie food wasn't really that bad since I have the points rewards card from regal and I got a free popcorn and soda! Bike parking is easy to find in the front (obviously) but on the weekend, it could be pretty PACKED so I recommend double parking the whip. On Tuesdays, students get in $4.50 each two weeks old movies! I highly recommend you going then if you're a frequent movie goer! read more

I would say this is the lesser of the two Regals in Davis. It is an older theater with seats that do not incline, so if a tall person sits in front of you then you might not be able to see. There is a small game room in front with about 3 arcade games and a claw game. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. My top picks: -parking garage above theater! Very easy to find parking. If that is full then there is street parking and a small parking lot at the corner. -cute benches outside and nice facade My negatives: -non-inclined rows of seating, the seats are short too so you can't lean your head back. not the best seats for a long movie read more

I was a bit nervous to visit because I'd never been to this theater before, but the staff was really nice and getting tickets along with concessions was straightforward thanks to them. The popcorn was good, expensive as usual but that's how it goes when it comes to any movie theater. It's a bit dated, but not the most dated Regal theater I've visited (this one had a decent concession stand, ~6 theaters, and cup holders which some more dated Regal theaters don't have). The picture and audio of the movie was pretty good. The only real complaint I can think of is the dated seats, but they were comfortable enough for a ~2 hour movie and you don't have to strain your neck to see the screen as long as you sit a bit towards the back. All in all it's a decent theater and I'd definitely visit again. read more

Medium-sized lobby with all the theater entrance doors right there. No hallways to walk down to find your theater. The lobby had the snack bar right in the middle. I was surprised by how small the building was overall, especially when looking at it from the outside. But the theater was clean, no leftover popcorn or trash where I was sitting. Also the bathrooms were clean too, and that's always a plus! Pros to coming here: -Parking garage with lots of parking. Plus you can park for 3 hours as opposed to the 2 hour spots on the street. -Cheaper movies on Tuesdays! Gotta love a good deal, especially because tickets cost so much these days. Also, $1 discount with your student ID. Every dollar helps, right? Cons: -Seating. The chairs only go up to your shoulders and have an inch of plastic on the edges, making an uncomfortable movie-watching experience, especially because there's no head rest! It's a plus if you're short like me, because I was able to scoot down in my seat and be able to lean my head on something soft. If you have the option to see your movie at Regal Cinemas Davis 5, I'd encourage you to go there instead. If I'm going to spend $11 on a movie ticket, I want it to be a more comfortable experience! read more

For a couple years it seems that my girlfriend and I go the movies every other Tuesday. I love the Tuesday discount and I am a Regal member so I enjoy the reward system a lot. The staff is always nice here and if a theater is too full they always give us a refund (this has only happened a couple times). The popcorn is tasty here and are not too bad when you apply the discounts. This has been a great theater for this city! The parking garage is ancient and can be frustrating when there are multiple cars trying to enter or exit. The turns are very tight and there is not much parking during the prime hours. Note to Regal: Please upgrade the chairs! They're insanely old! They are not very comfortable and are not very roomy. read more

One of the worst Regal Cinemas I've been to. I've been here quite a few times now as a student. My standards were set low for Regal because of my experience here. The staff and great and all, but the overall location as a theater sucks. There's only a few movie rooms available. From the top of my head, I'd say 6 - 8 rooms...? The concession stand is tiny. The rooms are cramped. I can hardly move my legs. The worst part is that the movie rows aren't staggered nor there isn't much elevation. This means you have to adjust your head and find a space in between the people seating in front of you - just to watch the film properly. This hurts my neck. Granted, this is a (much) older theater that (desperately) need renovations; but it really sucks. I thought all Regal Cinemas would poorly be designed like this, but nope. I've been to the Regal Cinemas in Oakland, Berkeley, and Sacramento and they're regular, modernized theaters. I guess it's great that the parking garage is free, but be careful driving up/down because there are sharp turns. There's also $5.50 movies on Tuesdays (not $5 anymore) with your Regal Cinemas cards, but still, the movie seat arrangement... :/ If this movie theater is nearby, go for the convenience on a Tuesday. I've been to this place a few times, and always known it to be expensive for not that great of a theater. But typically the staff is chill and gives student discount but this one staff member (older white bald guy) gave me a ton of attitude, purposely tried to not add my points for my regal rewards, and wouldn't let me use my free ticket. Love watching the epic conclusion of ten years of cinematic magic while sweating profusely and struggling to breathe in a hundred degree theater. The lack of air conditioning completely took me out of the immersive experience that Avengers: Endgame deserves. Cancel your tickets, get a refund while you can, and see it somewhere else, y'all. This really just happened.....I bought a large popcorn and said I did not want butter and the server loaded it with butter. I said I did not want it and he still charged me! I left it on the counter because it was saturated with butter and the server even tried to deliver it to me in the theater! Deliver me my money back! This review is just padding for my number of reviews. It's a movie theater. Not one of those high-backed recliner chair-you can order beer at the concession stand- theaters, just a theater. Yes there are theaters where you can get beer. Ask my sister. So why four stars? Tuesday cheap night. I can pay $4.25 for a movie. I will not pay $8 for popcorn but with the Regal Rewards card it's free popcorn on Tuesdays. Good night for a date... if you're cheap. I asked a girl to the movies a couple of weeks ago and SHE paid. How sweet is that. Here I had my $8.50 and my free popcorn card ready to be Mr. Big Shot and she walks ahead of me in the line and buys both our tickets. Watched Inside Out here this weekend, and it was packed. I'm glad we got our tickets an hour before the movie started. This movie theater is surprisingly small, but I guess this should be expected as downtown Davis has three movie theaters. The movie theater is right next to a parking garage which makes it super convenient of the three, and I believe this place plays the newest movies. Tickets were $10 each with student card, and the number of seats seemed pretty limited. We had to sit in the third row at the very end and we arrived about 10 minutes before the movie started. There were some horrendous seating options, the ones on the sides where you can barely see anything. The seats got very uncomfortable by the end of the movie, and I kept bumping elbows with my neighbor. At least the place was air conditioned on a scorching hot day. The movie theater is eh-alright, nothing special, but if you haven't seen it already, definitely check out the pixar movie, Inside Out. I'd say it's a must-see, 10 out of 10. read more

I prefer Regal Cinemas 5 a street down but since they split film releases, it's hard to avoid coming here once every so often. The theater is really old-looking and needs some serious remodeling. Similar to the other theater, it does $5 movies on Tuesdays. Come early for a good spot! What I dislike the most is their parking garage. Seriously, getting in and out is so dangerous, SO DRIVE CAREFULLY and look out for blind spots!! Go to CREAM afterwards if you're craving for some dessert! read more

Came her on a Friday night to take my niece and nephew, who are 6 and 8 years old respectively, to see Hotel Transylvania. There was no line at all. Walked right up to the lady to pay. This is unusual for a Friday night in my experience. This is a small theater. There are only 6-8 different screens. It has a very small arcade section to the left when you enter. Standard food vendor with popcorn, sodas, hot dogs, etc. The seats in the theater were pretty comfortable. No problems with the little ones. Both they and I enjoyed the movie. However, there were some teenagers being loud and goofy during the movie. Not going to take any points away for that though. There is a parking garage nearby but it gets full fast. You might have to park a couple blocks away. No big deal. read more

Although I typically prefer stadium seating, the $5 Tuesday deal is just too good to go anywhere else. Movies that are at least 2 weeks old qualify for this student-budget friendly deal & it's something I take advantage of often. Heck, I'll never pay full price for a movie as long as I live in Davis, I'll just keep coming here! The theater is older and small, & the seats aren't fantastically comfy, but I can make do for 2 hours. They really play by the rules here, so make sure if you're bringing in your own snacks, hide them well, or else they will make you go back to your car. I'm giving this theater three stars simply because the staff is generally friendly and the place is kept clean and the movies work. With that said, I think the entire facility is old and needs renovation. On top of that, parking can be absolutely terrible to find as the parking structure connected to the building has some of the WORST (aka SMALLEST) "compact" car parking spots I have ever seen. I see people squeezing out of their car doors at best when they park there. More often than not, I just see people hitting their car door with the car next to them. (For those with new cars or who don't want scratches or dents on your cars..YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...!) There are so many more places you can go for a good movie experience. Unfortunately, that pretty much means you have to leave Davis and go to Vacaville or Sacramento. But sometimes it's worth the drive. All in all, this theater isn't bad. It's alright. read more

I love this location because it's so close to campus! It used to be $5 Tuesdays for any movie but now it's $6.75. If this location isn't showing the movie you want to watch, the other regal theatre is just a quick walk away as well right next to wing stop! I just recently came here to watch Deadpool and really enjoyed the film! Will be coming back here with friends because it's a perfect, cheap way to spend the day at the cinema! :) read more

Eeeep. I really didn't appreciate the theater back home until i watched a movie here. Sadly, Regal Cinemas is the closest and most convenient theater in Davis. They offer $5 movies on Tuesdays which are applicable towards movies which are not new releases. If you sign up for a regal card you can score a free popcorn or drink, especially if you go out with friends and they bounce off your card to score free points. As a heads up, they do split movies with the other Holiday theater, so be careful when looking at showtimes for movies online! Also be sure to get to the theater early when you see a popular new release, because they sell out FAST. Compared to other movie theaters, there is hardly any incline to the rows of seats which are pretty uncomfortable if you ask me... read more

This is an old style small movie theater, no stadium seats, no fold up arm rests for love sessions, but it still get the job done. Saw Avatar 3D here, the staff were friendly. The absolute highlight of this theater was the fact that I was standing in the peoples republic of Davis, CA...as close to a socialist country as you can get, and in the lobby I was enjoying playing the Deer Hunter USA video game. I thought for sure someone would call the police, me there shooting innocent little deer. How much more anti Davis can you get? The parking garage here is a little tight, and yes, I drove my gas guzzling SUV. You have the standard wayyyy overprices concession items, of course, and pretty much the same ticket prices other than on Tuesdays. read more

The main reason why I like this movie theater is because of the deals that they have on Tuesday nights. If you go on fandango.com, you will see that certain movies are only $5 dollars! What's best about it that the $5 movies are not just for old movies, and you can sometimes watch movies that have just been released. There's often more than one movie that is showing for $5. Another reason why I like this movie theater is because there is parking structure, so you don't have to try and find parking on the streets. read more

Buy your tickets early if you go on tuesdays! I went to see catching fire and the time we wanted was sold out! We ended up getting the later time, but it wasn't long before that one was sold out. And if you want more than one $2 popcorn voucher, you have to do separate transactions when you buy your ticket at the box office. They only give you one popcorn voucher per transaction! read more

I'm not sure why this theater is rated higher than the other Regal in Davis, but I prefer the other one. I do enjoy the parking lot right above the theater, but I don't like the theaters themselves. The seating is at a very low slant, so in some cases a tall person can sit in front of you and disrupt your view of the movie. read more

I'm not from Davis, but whenever I visit my friends we always come here to catch a flick. When I've been here it's always been clean and pretty empty. Our movie of choice this time was Gnomeo & Juliet in IMAX 3D. One complaint for this visit was the Justin Bieber movie was in the next theater over and we could hear that music playing throughout our movie. For those who go to Regal Cinemas often I suggest getting a Regal Crown card, depending on how many points you have will determine if you get a small free soda, popcorn, movie ticket, etc. read more

I went here about 2 or 3 times before during my undergrad here at Davis. Tuesdays are $5 movies for movies that have been out for at least two weeks. A nice little deal if you aren't huge on seeing a movie on opening night or anything. They WILL kick you out of a screening if they catch you with your phone. They let you know well in advanced to lock your phones in the car. In the theater they acknowledged that some people might still have their phone on them and to turn it off. The security walked down the aisles with night vision googles and sure enough they caught one lady and out she went. The theater the provided was small for a movie that I thought was going to be pretty popular. The seats are all extremely close to each other and are not very comfortable. Why I go here? $5.50 Tuesday. One of three theaters in town. To get to another theatre you would have to drive 10-15mins out of town. I personally think they always have the more "young", "hip", or "popular" movies. Whereas Regal Stadium 5 have the more "older audience", "themed", or "historic" movies. Of course, this doesn't always hold true. The layout of the theatre is like most - box office, concessions, and then movie theatre entrances. Although all 6 theatre entrances arch behind the concession - making it easier to find and go to your respective room. Stadium 5 on the other hand has their theatre entrances along a hall - one thru five; which just means you have to walk further down the hall base on what theatre you are in. I personally feel all the theater's room and screen are the same size; which is good, in the sense you don't feel like you are jipped by paying the same price for a movie being showed on a bigger screen. Stadium 5, has larger screens in some room, and smaller screens in others. The third theatre in town usually show more independent movie. Because they have $5.50 Tuesday, I go here. Otherwise I would be okay with waiting for a movie to come on blu-ray or redbox. Keep in mind, I am more of a comfort-in-home-movie type - versus with a room full of strangers. I recently visited this movie theater location to view the Shallows! I normally go to the Regal G street location, however this was the only theater at the time that was playing the movie. I was disappointed with the movie experience because the auditoriums at this location are much smaller than normal movie theaters, and aren't leveled properly, so everyone in the entire theater had to look upward at the screen; even those who sat in the highest level. This Regal venue only has 3-4 movie auditoriums so it must be a smaller venue in general, however I would have much rather waited or gone to a different location if I knew how small and uncomfortable the seating was going to be. I recommend visiting the G street location instead of this one, when possible. The one upside to this venue is that it is conveniently located in front of delicious C.R.E.A.M, which is always ideal, especially during the summer. read more

Though this theater isn't anything amazing (small screens and no stadium seating) I just realized how great this theater is after leaving Davis. Why you wonder? Two words. Tuesday specials. $5.50 for ANY* movie, even ones that just came out the previous week. (*extra $2? for 3D) + if you go before 6, there tends to not be very many people, so if you go 30 min early, you'd easily get choice seats. Parking is right up stairs and is good for 3 hrs. No limit after 6pm and Sunday. One warning though, previews take up a whole 30 minutes. read more
