This place is nostalgic and it's crazy that it's almost exactly the same as it was in the 90s. You have to know going in that it's not updated nor fancy. But! It's clean and you can space out in the theater and they have lots of snacks. The workers are really nice! That said, the speakers could use some upgrades or repairs. Saw Wuthering Heights in theater 6 and the sound seemed off- like too tinny and almost unlistenable at points because it was so sharp. Oh my goodness this movie theater is what I would imagine a horror movie to be filmed in haha! Very old school- nothing wrong with that but the vibes are what gives me that eerie feeling. When you walk in the popcorn smell takes over the place and you'd think it's the best popcorn you're about to have, unfortunately it's nothing like what it smells like. This has always been my go-to theater in Davis. It's really easy to get to while walking downtown but there is a good parking garage above the theater as well. The entrance to the theater is always quite warm, but at least the theaters themselves are cooler and comfortable. The seats themselves aren't great but definitely good enough to sit through a movie for. read more

Clean and nice staff. I understand the complaints about the chairs because it's not the large recliners that a lot of theaters have (or the food service that comes to your seat). As long as you don't expect that it's super clean and comfortable. Also the prices are cheaper than those theaters so definitely worth the cost. read more

Hard to rate. The service here is great and the people super nice. The ambiance or theater is old and nothing like the new movie theaters. But... it is nostalgic. The place is really clean and well taken care of. It reminds me of the theaters from 30 years ago. I give four stars because the people are really friendly and professional. And they keep this place nice and clean. It's first come first serve so you can't buy seats ahead and pick your seat. They have a good concession stand and selection of drinks snacks and popcorn. It is pricey for what you get. Prices should be lower And maybe upgrading one of the theaters to lounge chairs?? Would have been 2-3 stars if it wasn't for the service and clean theater. The manager, Alfredo, was a real MVP at Davis Regal. To try and promote the business more, he offered me and my boyfriend free tickets, not only that, but he also covered our drinks and popcorn!! It was such a nice surprise and something that I do not take for granted, especially during these hard times. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the theater, the snacks they had to offer, and even the small arcade room! He truly went above and beyond, and I am happy to say, they have a fan for life at this cinema! Thank you, Alfredo. WOW FACTOR? No, just the opposite. I've seen two movies here over the last month and both had 30 minutes of ads, previews, ad and more previews. 30 minutes after the supposedly start time for the movie? Unacceptable. 10 minutes is ok. 15 minutes is too much. 30 minutes? Time to go elsewhere to see movies. read more

This place continues to decline. As I've said before, FOUR screens are equipped for 3D but they are currently showing both Moana 2 and Wicked, both on 2 screens but ONLY in lousy 2D! I visited Regal Theaters today and found the associates to be very kind. The movie Wicked was great, but the seating was outdated and uncomfortable, particularly for larger individuals. Given that it's almost 2025, I expected them to have updated seating similar to other movie theaters in the area. Nostalgic and reminds me of long ago movie theaters BUT needs some improvements. Air conditioning should be their first priority. The theater rooms are warm. Seats are more narrow so you might be sitting elbow to elbow with the next person. Apple Pay or any electronic payments aren't taken. Only cash or your physical card. The WiFi connection isn't that great when you walk through the door. Staff isn't that welcoming. I definitely get why they have "clearance days" where the movies are cheap. It's helping to bring in people. Not sure how much longer this place will be open without improvements that make it more nice, comfortable and convenient for their customers. This movie theatre is very small and outdated. The seats are uncomfortable because it doesn't have a head rest. Definitely no recliners. You can buy tickets in advance but cannot reserve seats so you'll need to come early. I bought a pretzel and it was the worst I've ever had. Also watched them microwave it to warm it up. read more

I will admit that out of the two Regal Theaters in Davis this one tends to be a little less desirable in terms of seating, theatre size, and general atmosphere. But - I have come to prefer the Regal Holiday due to the fact that in pandemic times such as these the showings of less popular or older movies here often come with a theatre to yourself! Recently I saw Reminiscence here a few weeks after it opened and there was not another soul in sight - just me, Hugh Jackman, and my small popcorn. And while I can't speak to the price of tickets here (I'm a Regal Unlimited card holder), I can say that the concessions are just as expensive as any other big name movie theatre in the world. So overall, given the circumstances, I think Regal Davis Holiday may be a better option than at first glance nowadays. read more

Actually the rudest employees I've ever interacted with for no reason. We wanted to see a movie and they wouldn't let us without an ID, despite us clearly all being adults. We offered to show photos, showed student ids, etc, but they refused. I wasn't aware regal cinemas had stricter id requirements than most bars in Davis. She also laughed at us when we tried to provide a solution. Probably the meanest customer service interaction I've ever had, me and my friends left the theater in shock that the staff were so rude. They also laughed at us when we tried to be polite and offer a solution, and unnecessarily strict about almost everything. Don't waste your time. read more

Being the only other theater in Davis, I suppose you can't complain much. However, this is a very small and outdated theater. For the price of a ticket, you'd think it was a little more modern. On the bright side, it's been clean all the times I've visited. Another upside is that there is garage parking above and staff is generally friendly. This theater is alright. The seats are placed on a slope, so there are no stairs to go up or down when you enter. I always sit in the back because I feel like I will strain my neck so badly if I sit in the front. It feels kind of old in comparison to other movie theaters I have visited. The movie screen size is still relatively big though, and the sound is not bad at all. I seriously only go to this theater because it's in Davis, and I am too lazy to drive over to the next city. Also, I really like how there's a parking structure right next to it because finding parking sometimes can be a struggle. Would this be my first choice movie theater? Not really... But it's convenient and more empty at least than other theaters (especially important to me during COVID times). I will still come here because again, I am too lazy to drive a little further. Happened to come here to watch a movie when visiting a friend at UC Davis. Movie theater is kind of old but cute and cozy. Seats are not super comfortable but again it's a movie theater in a small town. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I like the whole vibe and benches outside are very cute. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Buyer beware...we pre-purchased tickets to see a movie (for a group of people). When we got to the theater they were closed due to a power outage that had ended hours earlier. When I went to get my money back for the tickets they were unable to give me my money back as I did not cancel them the day of the show. I asked how I could have returned them when they were closed. They gave me readmission tickets that are only good for 30 days and told me that I would need to talk to their corporate offices. I contacted the corporate offices and they told me that since I did not are for a refund 1 hour prior to the movie there is nothing they can do. I asked how can I do that if the theater is closed? Currently sitting in the movie theatre sipping on my overpriced drink watching Jurassic World . Just awesome when some dumbass employee opens the door to the auditorium every 5 mins for no apparent reason. Then proceeds to fumble keys trying to get into the utility closet while in the middle of the movie . Like wouldn't there be a better time for that . It's actually quite irritating . Tried to beat the triple digit temperatures and go see Oppenheimer. Of course the theatre was packed, no surprise there. But what was more disappointing and borderline dangerous was how HOT it was inside the theatre. It did not feel like the AC was on or it maybe it was broken. Several people had to leave to get fresh air. Terrible experience that certainly made it difficult to enjoy the movie. read more

The workers were nice and the place was clean and welcoming. But I'm deeply frustrated by the decision to run 10 minutes of commercials (not movie trailers) at the advertised showtime start. Of course watching 10-15 minutes of movie trailers---with a soft drink or snack ad dropped in every once in a while---is totally common. First time at this theater and my first impression is that it's quit small compared to other regal theaters. Before we could even make it inside we had to find parking. Whhich took about 20 minutes on a Friday night. The parking structure on top of the theater was packed and the parking lot near the theater was overflowing as well. When we finally found parking several streets over, we were directed to go inside to purchase tickets at the concession stand. No biggie plus it got us out of the cold. It was only innside that I realized that its a little on dated side. It reminded me of cinemas from the 90s. Unlike other regal cinemas this location only have six theaters. The theater that we were in seemed like it had a curved screen. Idk, or it could be that it seemed curved that we were sitting so close to the screen. I would go back to this location again only if it was during a week day to avoid the weekend rush. read more

Me and my family happened to watch the Shazam movie, at 11pm exactly, there was some technical difficulties and the manger (I don't know his name, but was wearing a yellow plaid shirt, rectangular glasses, clean shaven head guy, no disrespect to him, I just didn't get his name because of that) tried his best to resolve it by giving us free tickets for the next one but we requested a refund, and yet somehow he said he couldn't do that for us for the 9:15 showing of Shazam, it didn't clearly make sense the fact he rewind the movie by an hour long back so that was very inconvenient but next time, I would advice the manager to please always do a check up with a maintenance guy for these situations to avoid future customer complainants like this next time, I appreciate the fact he was trying his best but there was no excuse about this whatsoever the fact that it did happened. Just voicing my advice and opinions through this issue. But right now everything is a little bit okay though since the wait wasn't like an hour or more. But please be prepared next time, again I have no hard feeing towards them but early preparations are a huge must if a business does not want a bad reputation.
