After an accident that happened with my 3 year old niece, I rushed to see my baby as quickly as I could after learning my baby had broken her paw's bones. Once I arrived, they had just given her pain meds but let me hold her until she fell asleep so they could do what they needed to do. This meant the world to me. I felt so awful that I wasn't there for her while she was in pain and I was happy to be there for her while, I'm sure, she was scared and in an unfamiliar environment. They promptly cooperated with my vet (I'm from out of the state) to get them the information they would need. It seems pretty well maintained (not dirty, no stale smell in the air) and the staff was friendly. My mom later explained that they were completely booked that day and took Ixi because they had seen her once before! I don't know what I would've done if they weren't able to take her in. When she was ready to go home, they gave her a cute and custom cast with hearts So thank you!! read more

We are relatively new to Ohio and one of the most difficult things to find when moving is a vet who can be trusted. I tried three vets before I met Dr. Lang at Refugee Canyon. He was wonderful! My beloved pit bull was sick and after many tests we came to understand that she had cancer. He was caring and took the time to answer any questions we had. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for better care for her or my other dog who needed ear surgery in the midst of dealing with the cancer in my first dog. I feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful facility! The support staff is outstanding as well. read more

This place is awful with zero loyalty to customers. I have been taking my dog, who is half Maltese half Shih tzu, for almost 2 years for all his veterinary and grooming needs, after today I will NEVER be returning and I warn anyone else that reads this! The doctor and the groomer of these establishments are without integrity or any real sense of customer service. I took my dog to be groomed yesterday, as I have numerous times before, and asked that a couple inches be cut off his hair, but that I wanted his hair left about 3 inches long. The groomer said she would see what she could do. Since he is a Maltese and Shih tzu mix his hair was long, white, and pretty. I pointed out to her that there was a small knot in the front that I had noticed on the way there, that would need cut out. The groomer reached down and felt his hair and said it felt good. I left feeling like he was in capable hands. That evening, much to my surprise, I picked up a shaved dog. I was traumatized, and so was my dog. It's getting cold out and now he has no hair, great. I asked for someone to call me back that could offer me a refund because there was no way I was paying for these services when I was so clear as to what I wanted, and I so clearly did not get that. The next day (today) I got a call back from a female doctor, who I can only guess is the owner of this business, or at least she acted like it. She told me that she spoke with the groomer, who told her that she was, "very clear with me that my dog had 3 large mats on his body that would need to be shaved off, and after she did this she might have to cut him short, and this is what she did, she did her best." I could not believe what I was hearing, the groomer had completed fabricated a story to cover her mistake. I explained to the doctor what actually happened, and that I had been bringing my dog there for 2 years, and was just looking for someone to fix the situation. The doctor told me that the groomer had laryngitis yesterday, so maybe I "misunderstood" what she had said. As calmly as I could, I explained to the condescending doctor, that her laryngitis wasn't so bad that I didn't "misunderstand" my saying leave 3 inches of hair, and her saying she would shave him. I explained to her again that I wanted 2 inches cut off my dog's hair that was it, and the doctor said "Well she's not able to do that!" and I said "Well she should have said that, and I would have taken him somewhere else!" And she told me, "We'll maybe that's what you should do then." It's obvious to me now, the doctor and groomer are well aware they made the mistake, especially with the last comment she made "Well she's not able to do that." The unfortunate part is instead of admitting fault and apologizing, they decided to lie, as if I wasn't there, as if I wasn't apart of the conversation, which blows my mind! If they can treat a person like this, I hate to think how they treat the animals that get boarded and groomed when no one is looking! The worst people out there are liars! This place can keep my $30 it was just principle, hopefully my review will save other people and their pets from going to such a terrible business in Licking county. read more

My husband and I used to board our dogs at the Pataskala location until we had the worst experience with an employee, Darby. We were heading out of town and were going to drop off our dogs. There was some unexpected afternoon traffic so I called ahead and let them know we would be about ten minutes late. The employee refused to wait for us. I told him we were loyal clients and that we were almost there but he said he couldn't wait because he needed to leave to get lunch. We even offered to stop and buy him food so he would wait for us. Again he refused. We were left completely without any options and had to frantically call kennels to find anywhere with an open space. This is no way to run a business and I am both shocked and upset that we were treated this way. I will never use them again. read more
