When i took my dogs in this morning for a grooming appointment at AllPets Pickerington, they were turned away for not having enough required health information. I made the appointments WEEKS ahead. The tech i spoke with demanded that i approve my vet to release their records, which i thought was odd since i have records to show them, but they absolutely insisted on contacting my vet directly to get ALL their health histories. No groomer has ever asked for more than proof of all required vaccinations, but okay... Done. I confirmed that they got the records. A couple days prior to the scheduled grooming, i got a call saying they had insufficient records. I called back and was told by the vet tech that my fogs needed a fecal test. I explained they were on heartworm, flea, and tick medication and current on all vaccinations and Simparica. She checked the records and said this was acceptable. Yet, when i arrived, i was told that this conversation had not taken place and that, if i was to get my pups groomed i needed to schedule the fecal tests. For a price. Oh, and they had a list of other "recommended services" as well beyond just the fecal tests. I left and will not go back nor can i recommend AllPets Pickerington. I find it hard to believe that the tech who approved that a fecal exam was not needed did not enter the details of our conversation since she had to open the records when we spoke. They should have honored their word, not denied the approval. I could believe it was an honest mix up, but asking to perform not only an unnecesary fecal tests but other unnecessary things as well felt more like bait and switch than poor record keeping. If you choose to use AllPets Pickerington, be very certain to have all your records handy, take names of the techs to whom you speak, and watch out to make sure they do not perform tests or procedures that are not needed. read more

Let me start by stating I didn't use the service. I scheduled an appointment to have my dog groomed. The young woman who answered the phone stated that she had to confirm with my vet that all shots were up to date, and she would call Me back to confirm the appointment. She never called me back. The next day, I called them again to get the appointment scheduled. They said that they have my dog's records and the appointment was scheduled. Two days before the appointment , they called me again to inform me that my dog could not be groomed until he gets a flu shot and a bordatello vaccination, which they are happy to provide for $150.00 in addition to the cost of grooming. We have been clients at Allpets since Brinkli was 5 weeks old. She will be 9, in a few weeks. I chose this vet clinic because I was impressed w the staff from the office manager Sue, to the vet techs like Sheila. Mostly I just liked the caring attitude toward not only Brinkli but myself as well. Today proved how right I was to choose Allpets. ( not that I needed proof, trust me over the years if there has been trouble to find Brink will find it). I found what I thought was a lump. As any golden parent knows, it strikes a fear that cannot be described. Within an hour, Sheila was making sure brink had tennis balls to play with, was comforting me and Dr Jennifer Schoenfeld was giving us the best word possible: it was nothing but a reaction to a flu shot. If you are looking for a clinic to care for your pets the way you would want them cared for, Allpets at Pickerington is your only choice. Dr C. is hands down the best veterinarian there ever was, and ever will be. 5 stars is not even close to an accurate description of the service provided by her, and her team. She goes above and beyond for her patients, and makes sure that all procedures are explained in full. She never rushes through appointments, and is always willing to take the extra time to make sure everyone (pets & pet parents) are comfortable. Pricing at her clinic is completely fair, and I have never ever experienced pressure or attempts to add additional unnecessary treatments. She will always be my veterinarian wether I live in the area or not. Anyone looking for a veterinarian would be doing their animals a great service by taking them to Dr C. A few days after paying over $400 for his annual exam, we boarded our dog for 6 days and at check-in requested a bath, grooming and teeth cleaning ($875). Upon pickup today, he had not been bathed or had his haircut. We were told "they could not fit him in". For a customer that paid over $1200 total within a 2 week time period, this is simply inexcusable and poor customer service. We had also left a comfort item with him (a worn tshirt that smelled like my spouse) which, from all indications including its cleanliness, the dog never saw (they took it out of a separate drawer). However, the leash we left with All Pets at drop off (at their request) was inexplicably left in his crate with him and was chewed up badly and no longer usable. This facility is close to our home and convenient, but significantly more expensive than comparable dog boarding facilities in the area so we expected a higher level of service. I was completely disappointed in this groomer. After taking my 4 1/2 month old pup there, she ended up with a bacterial ear infection. The groomer never clipped her ears nor notified me of a potential pro problem. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE full of amateurs. The unfriendly staff in incompetent. Not only did they grossly overcharge for their less than adequate services, they charged me for services not even rendered and had rude attitude when brought this to their attention. This place is a joke. Do yourself a favor and take your pet to a real professional that cares more about your pet than the opportunity to take advantage of a customer in need. I will definitely do more research on a business I deal with moving forward. Got burned on this experience. We had our dog Jake groomed here today and it was such a wonderful experience! He's an 8 month old puppy and has only been groomed at Petsmart and had a TERRIBLE experience. We were happy to know that there is only one groomer who gets to know your dog very well before she does anything. We even got a tour of the facility to see where they board the dogs and where they go out to play. We can't wait until our Banfield Pet Hospital insurance ends and we can use All Pets as our primary vet as well! read more

I've had uncomfortable experiences at AllPets. They charge $60 for a "physical exam" which basically amounts to feeling my dog's sides for 15 seconds and checking out his ears. Also, the vets act a little too much like salespeople for my tastes. Each time I'd arrive, they'd print out an invoice of "suggested" products services that would run my bill up to $250-$400 if I actually bought them. I'd always have to ask them to remove anything I didn't ask for specifically. It's just an annoyance that I'd prefer not to deal with each and every time I show up for a vaccine or checkup. I have since decided to take my business down the road. read more

This facility is simply unethical. Our dog is 15 years old and is fragile. Like a previous review for grooming, I had called Allpet to set a grooming appointment, and stated the regular groomer (PetSmart) referred us since our dog was on meds for an enlarged heart, thus fragile. They set an appointment, and stated they would need confirmation from our vet that his shots were up to date, which they were. They never called back, but when I call the day before they had confirmed his shots. But they wanted our dog to a a fecal test, which he has yearly, but insist that it be done every six months. Also, they stated he would need a flu shot. When I asked if the shot would be ok with his heart meds, they were clueless. So a $50 grooming appointment for a fragile dog turned into a $150 shots/test/grooming bill. This facility should be ashamed of themselves, but that would mean they had a sense of ethical behavior. With a previous review in the past few month experiencing the same thing, they obviously see a money making opportunity from fragile dogs who need grooming. Aimee the new groomer is wonderful, caring and is very knowledgable about different breeds and haircuts! She takes time to really make sure she pampers each and every pet! And my pup got a cute bandana after her groom! I would definitely recommend AllPets to get your dog groomed! read more

I will NOT take my dog to All Pets- Pickerington, OH, again. Since our old groomer retired, we were looking for a new one. I called and made an appointment about a week ahead of time. They asked when she usually ate. I told them 8 AM and 3:30 PM so they said to bring her in between 8 and 9 AM. I also asked how much they charged for a dog weighing 65 lbs. They told me between $50-$60. We arrived at 8:30 AM. She is a large dog and was put in a very small cage along with a small bowl of water. About 3:30 PM I called and asked when I could pick her up. They said 5:30 PM as they closed as 6 PM. We arrived at 5:30 and they said she wasn't ready. I told the woman at the desk we were told 5:30. She proceeded to look at her watch and said "You're early- it's 5:23." I was then told my bill was $75. I was very upset and told the woman I was quoted at $50-60 and told my dog would be ready at 3:30. We finally got my dog at 6 PM- 9 1/2 hours later, which is much too long for a large dog to be in a small cage. We were told our dog wouldn't take her bath or stand up to be groomed. We have NEVER had either issue before as our dog loves baths. When we got home, our dog threw up, wet herself, and was limping. We took her to the vet and they told us she had a torn ligament. We are appalled at how All Pets- Pickerington treated us and our dog resulting in an injury. We will NEVER again shop at All Pets. N. Pennington. read more

We took my sons guinea pig there because of a growth on its neck. I was already invested for the $59 office visit and while checking him out, the vet said she could clip its nails while she took care of removing the growth, or do it now. We didn't object, and considering I was paying the office visit, I thought it would be a value-add if she were to clip its nails. I then asked for an estimate of the procedure she proposed for the growth. The staff member returned with the current bill of $81 and an estimate of over $400 for the growth removal. I was shocked they charged me $22 over the office visit for a "pedicure" that took less than 30 seconds to complete - and not really something we even asked for! I was glad I asked for the estimate of the surgery, which allowed us to cut our losses. In hind-sight, I should have refused to pay the $22, it's just ridiculous and I found it very unprofessional how the service was performed without being upfront about it being an additional charge. The staff and vet were friendly, but if this is how they do business, I won't be going back. read more
