Their coffee deserves a 5, their lack of baked goods and comfort of furniture is why I can't give them 5 stars. We travel to Fairhope every few months to visit family. Every time we come we get coffee from Refuge, it's smooth, delicious and maybe the best in town. However, every time we have come here, they are out of most of their baked goods. We would love to come to sit and enjoy breakfast. If you're just coming for coffee to go, this is the place. But if you want to stay a while and maybe eat breakfast or enjoy a treat, you may be disappointed. Not only are they out of food most of the time their furniture is hard surfaces and uncomfortable to sit on. Not a place to stay a while, it's a shame too because it's a great little place. The staff are always friendly.

For serious coffee drinkers! Had to come by here to try their signature latte with almond milk. The signature blends in cinnamon and honey for a lightly sweet and smooth sip. Coffee is perfectly roasted and well balanced. Seating is spread out inside and atmosphere was very chill and laid back. Staff was super friendly. I have to go back to try their seasonal syrup: harvest blend

This is a neat locally owned and operated coffee shop that's warm and welcoming, with a totally mellow local vibe. They have handcrafted coffees and syrups that produce a very pleasant smooth coffee that I thoroughly enjoy. None of that bitterness of a Starbucks but a very flavorful and robust cup of Joe that is very satisfying. They also offer oat and almond milks. They do drips, pour overs, Expresso, cold brew, cappucino, organics, both hot and cold. And they work with fair trade certified green coffee suppliers to make sure they are using high quality coffee and it shows up in the cup. On my last visit my specialty coffee was perfect blend of fine coffee and syrups that made for a very pleasant coffee experience. The atmosphere is comfy and chill, the staff is friendly, and welcoming and the coffees are a cut above. Recommended! Coffee was good. I asked for the origin of the coffee brewed and the guy behind the counter told me to read the blue bag on the shelf if I wanted to know. Flippant and dismissive would be a good description. Got coffee in one of their mugs for $3.27 and told refills were $1. Did feel like a place I would want to hang out and drink coffee. A friend from Mobile recommended Refuge. The Guatemalan coffee was better than the service or the attitude. The 3 stars are for the coffee.

They didn't have iced coffee so I tried a macchiato and it was authentic Italian coffee, it came in a tiny cup and I was expecting very strong but it wasn't too bad. My husband got their signature coffee and he loved it. I loved the coziness of the shop it was very comfortable. If it got crowded it would be close quarters. The service was good, only one person and by the looks of things he was about to get his butt handed to him because they were coming in fast. They had some muffins for sell so we partook in a pumpkin spice muffin and it was DELICIOUS!!!!

This is a great little coffee shop to visit in downtown Fairhope. I stopped into this coffee shop to do some work for about an hour while I was in Fairhope for Thanksgiving this week. There are plenty of seating options to choose from inside ranging from couches, tables, high tops and a couple individual chairs near the windows at the front of the coffee shop. The coffee shop has a subtle hipster vibe to the overall appearance and atmosphere. They have a very simple menu, but enough options to suit the needs of any coffee lover's taste buds! I ordered their signature latte called, the "Signature", which has local honey and cinnamon blended into the latte. It was light in flavor with a hint of sweetness from the honey. The barista who took my order recommended this drink to me. I'm glad I ordered it, because I could drink this all the time if I lived down here! The price tag on this drink was $4.96 which included tax. Expect to pay anywhere from $3-$6 depending on what drink you order. The baristas were very quick and professional with serving their customers. There were about 6 people in front of me and only two baristas working. I had my drink within a couple minutes after ordering which was very much appreciated. I will definitely stop into this coffee shop again when I am down in Fairhope! ALWAYS SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES WHENEVER YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY! Keep up the great work you guys.

Great coffee shop. Only one batista working. Short list of flavors to add to your coffee. Nice seating area to enjoy your coffee in

Probably one of the best teas I've ever had. It was an Earl Grey tea with such a depth of flavor.

Coffee was good, a bit overpriced, but better than others in the area. Pastries were definitely overpriced and not with the cost.

We tried their chocolate, churro, maple pecan, and mini coconut donuts. Most all of us agreed the maple pecan was the best with churro coming in second. I love that they tied in fairhope decor with their merchandise. It's a very unique space and I think it fits fairhope perfectly. Their bathrooms are also very stylish but no public restrooms and it's only two stalls total Things that were lacking: customer service could use a bit of help, maybe welcoming guests in, offer samples, etc. We also didn't care for the coconut donut. The filling in that one wasn't very flavorful in my opinion. They had a bunch of menu items and options though.
