Reformd by Sweat and Tonic is Canada's largest-capacity Lagree studio. Located on the terrace level of The Well, this new facility is separate from Sweat and Tonic (S&T). The studio has 28 Lagree stations where the instructor is elevated on a stage in the middle of the room. The studio is dark and moody, which makes the whole class experience unique, similar to the classes at S&T. Grip socks are mandatory for all classes!
Like S&T, you are able to book Reformd classes through their phone app. However, memberships and credits to Reformd are separate from S&T. I purchased a pre-opening intro credit pack a few months back when they were having a promo (3 classes for $50). Currently I believe there is an intro offer...3 classes for $60.
I was able to experience my very first Lagree class at Reformd during their Friends & Family week where I received a complimentary credit from S&T. Members were able to enjoy complimentary classes during specific days prior to their grand opening on June 21.
Upon arrival at Reformd, the space has tones of grey/concrete with pops of colours throughout. It isn't flashy but the space is utilized well. There are no specific gender changerooms, however, there is a locker space to put your belongings. Moreover, there are showers, washrooms, and a changeroom, which can be used by everyone. The cool thing is that the change rooms and bathroom doors change from see though to frosted once you lock them. The front area also has chairs and tables for you to lounge at before or after class.
The space also has separate sinks, hairdryers, towels, a water station, and that all important eucalyptus essential towel fridge for after class. There is also a sock vending machine because wearing grip socks to class is required (the socks in the vending machine were $24).
Being my first ever Lagree class, I was nervous to experience this workout. I knew that a Lagree class would not be easy, where slow micro movements would be used to target all muscle groups, as well as a lot of core. The machine also looked intimidating, however, our instructor was aware that half the class was new so she went over the basics with us (and it was also helpful that other instructors were also present doing the workout with us so we could look over to see them as well!).
During the workout we were guided through a series of movements to target all our muscles. Having to do everything slowly made the workout harder and it was definitely intense! It was a low impact but high intensity workout. Made our muscles shake and work.
Overall, a beautiful new Lagree studio by Sweat and Tonic!! Can't wait to return for more Lagree workouts! read more
