I got my hair cut by Hilton again just a few days ago and I could not be happier. If you tell him to only take 1/4 inch, he takes exactly that. In this case, I stated, I do not care what length you take off, but to take off all of the dead ends. I wanted to leave with totally fresh, non split ends hair. I also have extremely curly hair, with a cowlick, and he always makes sure to make my hair look even when he cuts it. He understands that wet curly hair 1 inch is actually more like 2 for the dry curly look. He also does a great dye job, and will recommend things to you based on your colour tone, your hair, whether it can withstand certain treatments, and also will ask your general day to day look to make sure you look great at all times. I made the mistake one time of seeing another hairdresser to touch up my bangs when he was on vacation, and I learned my lesson because I looked like the Three Stooges! I will never let another human touch my hair, Hilton only! I am sure the other stylists are just as good at this salon, but I can't vouch for them as I will not see anyone else. But if you're my curly crew, trust me your hair is safe in Hilton's hands. read more

I got a hair botox treatment there, and not only did it not do what it was supposed to do (keep it smooth and not-frizzy in humid weather) it changed my natural colour (which I has asked about in advance, because I didn't want this to happen, and the owner assured me it wouldn't). My hair is also damaged, dry and much less shiny than it was before the treatment. I asked for a refund (whole or partial) for this extremely expensive treatment that destroyed my hair and the owner refused and told me the colour hadn't changed (despite everyone who actually knows me seeing that it had) and that he sees hair "a lot more damaged" than mine. Though I don't dye my hair and it started out extremely healthy, so of course he's seen more damaged hair! I never claimed to have the most damaged hair in the city, just that my hair is now damaged. Would never go back, nor recommend. Awful experience, especially how flip the owner was when I told him my concerns. Edited to add the owner's response is patently untrue. I absolutely asked about my hair colour not changing prior to the appointment because I know keratin changes natural hair colour and wanted to ensure this wouldn't happen with the hair botox, (he was there when I went in for the treatment and to suggest otherwise is a lie), and even post-trim my hair remains damaged, a different colour, and notably, this expensive treatment didn't work. As for the photos, he took them without my consent when I went into talk to him about how upset I was about my hair. I haven't seen them, but it was certainly not "throughout the process" as he claimed. Stay away from this salon!!! read more

I went to the salon in the Gleeb and I am blown away by the experience I got. Krista was the best hair stylist I have ever had! She calmed all my anxieties about cutting hair while trying to grow it out and helped me find the perfect style and cut that I didn't even know I was looking for. she also walked me through a complete hurly hair routine that I can do myself at home. I learned so much from her and left the salon feeling more beautiful than ever. thank you Krista!! 10/10 recommend!! read more

After only being there for half an hour, and getting my hair cut in a straight line, the total cost was $90. As the photographic evidence found in my profile suggests, I am far too unkempt, cheap and lazy to normally patronize this sort of salon. I found myself there after receiving a package of treatments for Reflections as part of a promotion when they first opened. I expected to receive perfunctory service since I was clearly only there to redeem a packaged deal purchased in advance and one look at me will show that I'm not someone who is either willing or able to frequent the salon on a long-term basis. While I was pleasantly surprised with the manicure and pedicure services, the haircut and styling I walked away with was easily the best one of my life. I normally either hack at my hair myself or go to cheaper salons, less because I'm a miser (which is true) but because I'm resent paying stylists to not follow the instructions I give them. I don't have a trendy haircut and I'm really at peace with that. Miehl listened when I explained the cut I wanted and made sure I was happy with the results. She was careful and thorough, despite the fact that I was only there for a cheap promotional service. She also talked me through styling and maintenance, which believe me, I need help with. read more

I went in to get a cut and full highlights. I wanted them to look natural and grow out nicely, and the colorist seemed to understand. I asked for high and low lights. So the colorist painted my hair silently and about 25 min later they were ready to be removed. When i saw what they looked like on my wet hair i was silently freaking out. When they were dried it looked even worse. It was extremely ashy and grey looking. I went from having a beautiful bright colour to this. The colorist apparently has 20 years of experience came up with this horror!? The colors she chose did not match my skin tone at all, and they looked very unnatural. I left unsatisfied and but decided to wait to get used to it before I complained. Two days later I still hated it. So I called the salon and they told me to come back within 7 days to get it looked at by another colour technician The new girl was awesome and used a toner to get rid of the ashy-ness in my hair. It finally looked decent and I left the salon happier than I was the first time. The quality of the work is mediocre and there are way better salons out there than this one. The first colorist was very impersonal and didn't seem to care about the needs of her clients and simply was just going through the motions of her job, not stopping to take a moment to really analyze what is best for the client. I will not be coming back to this salon. read more

Absolutely fantastic experience this past weekend! My stylist Angela was incredibly friendly and very skilled at her craft. I came in to Reflections to get a wash, cut, and style for my baby shower that day. Angela made me feel comfortable and gave me exactly what I was looking for in the cut - it was my first time there, so I was slightly nervous, as I have asked for just a trim before and gotten more than what I was looking for cut off. On top of that, the style she give me for my hair looked stunning (I received a TON of compliments at the baby shower about my hair). Now that my hair is naturally washed and styled in my usual manner (i.e., air dried!) it still looks so amazing and is much lighter while still keeping my length! Went in to the spa for mani-pedi because my boyfriend and I got a groupon. The receptionists were totally unpleasant and left us waiting for ten minutes before telling us that someone was coming to get us. Then we go back to the spa area for our mani-pedis. There is one woman waiting for her toes to dry and she asks my manicurist why her feet are still rough and she says "Oh its a promotion, we don't do it full out, you have to come back"... then she left the poor woman for 30 minutes before telling her that her nails were dry enough for her to leave. My boyfriend got a wonderful woman who was friendly and teasing, making his experience less awkward and fun. My younger manicurist was pretty good at pedicures, but TERRIBLE at manicures. she rushed the job because she wanted to leave so my nail polish chipped later that day! She didn't evenly apply my topcoat either so I can actually see where so put it and where she didn't....ALSO - was super rough with my cuticles to the point that it was painful. Then my manicurist didn't even walk me out or come back while my nails were drying! She left the spa area completely to clean up and didn't return at all. I tipped her well because I liked how she did my feet. don't remember her name, but she was young (maybe just out of school)... Definitely wouldn't go back! read more

I have been getting my hair cut by Robert Boutros at Reflexions (and before that at his previous salon) for 30 years now. Need I say that Robert does excellent work? His cuts are fabulous and I trust him completely for advise regarding styling. His salon is always immaculate and he is always prompt. I have never been kept waiting and he swiftly goes to work. The results are reliable and consistent. His staff are friendly and the various assistants who have washed my hair are always accommodating. Over the years I have had a couple of highlights that have looked very natural per my request, and my daughter has had great full colour treatments. All 3 of my daughters have been to the salon and received the same level of service. I know at least 2 other clients who have been to Robert for years as well. His prices are competitive and reasonable and I know I will get reliable service and I often make last minute appointments. I have never been disappointed even when his colleagues have done my hair (if he has been away for a holiday or for an extended period). He has occasionally cut my husband's hair in the past as well. All to say, I would absolutely recommend Reflexions and I have done so for years. The new location is conveniently located, clean and bright. If you want an efficient, consistent, well styled haircut/hairstyle service Reflexions is for you. read more

Went in with a promo deal for hair and mani and pedi services thinking it was a good deal and since it was a spa that it would be guaranteed quality for at least the mani and pedis. The receptionist made a mistake with my appointment and scheduled it a half hour before we discussed. Small mistake. Only had time to do pedicures at the time I went it. She was very quiet. and when they tested afterwards if the polish was dry so I could leave, they didn't do a good job because after I got home my polish was smeared all over my socks. After 2 weeks it started to chip and after I removed the polish... I realised I had contracted a toe nail fungus. So not only did the end product end up making my feet look worse... I also have to pay for the medication to fix it. Sanitation should be standard practice everywhere... regardless. I'll never recommend or go to this place that can't even sanitize their equipment properly. BOO! read more

As I walked through the group of staff members smoking directly outside the front door -I had a bad feeling. When I walked into the waiting area, which had newspapers everywhere, other client's dirty cups and hair all over- I got a worse feeling. When I told the unfriendly receptionist that I was there to see a stylist and color tech that were both referred to me by a good friend- I was shocked to find out that BOTH were no longer working there (I booked my appointment 2 days earlier!) No one called me to tell me they had left, even though I had asked for them both by name. I really needed my roots done so I agreed to see someone else-this stylist was wearing a see through white shirt with a hot pink bra underneath and every time she bent over, her underwear was showing. I really didn't know where to look I was so uncomfortable. I never got offered coffee or tea, my stylist talked to the girl next to her, ignoring me the entire time and when I was done my services, my roots were still showing and the cut was a cheaply done trim. The punch line to my story would have to be the bill, it was over $200. I questioned the bill and the stylist was on commission so she "set" her own prices, This hole in the wall salon, with manicure tables in the middle, is seriously charging this much money, I was horrified. All in all I found where the stylist who I was originally referred to (who by the way- had actually quit 2 weeks before I booked my appointment at Reflections so the girl on the phone specifically LIED to me when she booked my appointment) Anyway my hair is fixed now-I highly recommend staying away from this disaster of a place. read more
