Similar to another customer in this thread and about the same time frame. I had two root canals done and both capped even though I said my gums were hurting a bit but the capping proceeded. Turned out I had an infection. I was referred to a specialist to fix for another few thousand. Then I had to go back to Reflection to fix the caps which were going to be recharged. But before i decided to get the procedure again, the dentist reprimanded me because I was distressed over having to go through it all again and paying again. And then to top that off it was suggested that I get invisalign to alleve my issues. So I switched dentists. Btw, hygienists were good at least. read more

My last dental appointment was before the start of the pandemic, so I was well overdue for a checkup and cleaning. Although many of the reviews on Yelp for this practice are less than flattering, I noted most of them were quite old and other review sites had more positive feedback. I called to make an appointment for January 2022 and then rescheduled due to the omicron outbreaks. They were able to find a new date for me a few months later. However, I was very impressed by their COVID mitigation procedures, such as temperature checks, patient questionnaires for each visit, and full masking until it's time for treatment. Since it had been so long since my last dental appointment, I needed to get a full set of X-rays. Although these can be painful for me because of a "torus palatinus," or a natural bone growth on the top of my mouth, they did a great job being gentle and quick throughout the X-rays to minimize any pain. I really appreciated that they walked me through an explanation of everything we would be doing and discussed how it might feel throughout the process, especially if I may experience discomfort. They also did some high-tech scans so we could look at a 3D model of my mouth. (This may have been the coolest teeth-related moment of my life!) I needed a deep cleaning and some fixes on the sealants on my molars, which had originally been added 20+ years ago. We opted to split the visits, since it required addressing some pandemic buildup and a separate sealing process. Getting dental work isn't always a pleasant experience, but everyone at the practice was very professional and friendly. They answered all of my questions, especially those related to the probable long-term health of my teeth and gums. I really liked that they could show me specific areas based on the X-rays and 3D modeling. I was very happy with this practice and the visits I've had so far. I plan to continue my dental care here, especially since I know they are doing everything they can to ensure everyone's safety as we continue to navigate through COVID outbreaks. read more

I wish there was a way to put "0" stars. After breaking a tooth, they took me in and 'fixed' it with a crown and found another that needed a crown. I asked if I should have a root canal before the permanent crown went on. "no - I don't need one". I had to go back repeatedly due to the pain - missing work and taking what I have left on my insurance benefit for the year. They had my buy $30 toothpaste because they said it was just 'sensitive'. A bunch of money later - they finally referred me to a specialist where I am not paying another $1500 for (2) root canals that I asked if I needed before. They got my money and put me in a debt I am STILL paying on. read more

TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. Read their filtered reviews -- all one star with unnecessary treatment prescribed. Went in to have my teeth cleaned and xrays done in May. The experience was one of the worst that I've ever had and I left with two cuts inside my cheek. Dr. Lee said I needed to have two fillings done, totaling $454 plus braces (which I had for three years about a decade ago) which were $5250, a night guard for $750 and bleaching for $199. Grand total of $6653. At the end of June I requested they send my xrays to another dentist so I could get a second opinion. A month later, they still hadn't sent them. Those two fillings Dr. Lee found? STAINS on the grooves of my teeth. It took the other dentist fifteen minutes to sand & seal them away and he said braces, whitening, and a night guard were not necessary. STAY FAR AWAY FROM REFLECTION DENTAL. I've been coming here since I moved to the area in 2009 and when they were located in Old Town all was well. Dr Lee is great but the new staff you see every time you come in are not so great. Schedule 6 month cleanings 6 months a head of time only to be called 4 hours before my appointment to come in early... Numerous times. Also several times had them try to over charge me.. Tell me this is how much it's going to be but when I show them the paperwork with my plan from last visit it's a lot less and no one seems to know why. Schedule an appointment with someone only to be told while im in the chair they're not available. Shady business. Will be finding a new dentist. read more

AVOID dentist!! Nice office and friendly staff but looks are deciving , Provider does like to recommend and preform services that are not needed and will charge you an arm and a leg for so called recommend services. I went in for 1 service and was basically charged over a grand for a deep cleaning and I have full health insurance . I finally went to another dentist and got a second opinion and was basically told that the service that they recommend and Preformed was not needed . The new dentist also charged my insurance correctly and cost me nothing out of pocket . AVOID dentist save your money and go to a real dentist or get a second opinion before letting them do anything. read more

This office deserves no stars! ALL staff are incompetent and lack the ability to communicate efficiently and are very rude. My husband had a tooth infection and we went there and they refused to give him antibiotics. He was in pain for days until an oral surgeon could see him. They still after calling back in, they refused to give him an antibiotic. When I called the emergency line, they said he Dr was at a Christmas party and couldn't talk! I do not recommend anyone go here or see any of these Drs. I have over 18 years of dental experience and have never in my life seen someone treated and cared for so poorly. I will also contact the VA Board of Dental and anyone else I can!! read more

Wife and I have been using this practice for a few years now. At first we felt we were being taken advantage of but I've changed my opinion over time. Of course we will rarely know if we are being duped but with Dr. Lee I feel we are getting the straight scoop. He's done most of the work on my teeth and he always take his time in explaining everything and is very careful with his work. The staff are all nice and professional. Dec 23. 2015. You will always get people posting reviews when they are mad or had a bad experience and I think people are not being reasonable. I had an experience with another dentist office that made me never want to see a dentist again plus I have no insurance (which is a lot of peoples issues that leave bad reviews about costs) and dental work is expensive even when the prices are set. Reflection Dental offered a thorough exam, cleaning and XRAYS for only $59! Other places I checked were over a hundred or two hundred dollars for XRAYS. Jessie is the best! When I say I was scared to ever go back to a dentist, I was ready to pull my own tooth out. She made conversation to make me relax, asked me if I had any issues and checked up on me thru the whole process of cleaning my teeth and taking the XRAYS. My teeth are so freaking shiny and clean that I wanted to personally tip her. She even explained to me how my teeth could get the way they were and I confessed my chocolate habit with her which is why I knew she hit it right on the nose. Made me real happy to hear her explain what is going on and what she is doing so I wasn't surprised or biting on the wrong thing. Educating people is how you keep them around. After all was said and done, I had WAY more than what I thought going on in my mouth and my total was over $7,000. WHAT??!! But yup, my fault and the best part of it is the dentist AND the assistance showed me exactly where the issues were. I saw it on two different screens, so they SHOW you the EXACT issues before even telling you how much. I am really glad I am not in denial or sticker shock because you can see everything on XRAYS. When Dr. Lee came in, he was a very happy and nice guy. Not once did they make me feel like I was a bad person for not keeping up with my mouth/teeth. Dr. Lee explained his major concerns and how he suggests getting everything taken care of. Then he said he would like to make sure we get everything treated to avoid any more bigger issues down the road and if I had any questions to contact him or his assistance. The lady at the front desk, Melissa, helped me check out and mentioned that I could apply for Care Credit to assist with paying any dental work. She showed me the treatment plan and gave a few other suggestions on how to group up the dental work just in case I wanted to do more or less at one time. She seems to know what she is doing and had patients telling her their life time story because she had built up such a great rapport with them. I do remember hearing one patient talking to her about the old office they worked in and how this new office is so up to date. To summarize, this was a great experience. Even though I have a lot of issues, I don't feel as though they were selling me into fixing my hygiene. I too had braces years back and my teeth shifted. They mentioned it to me but didn't stress that I had to get this done. They just want to let you know all the issues they see because that is their job. Just like when you take your car in for an oil change. You have all these other issues that you avoided signs about but when it gets brought up you want to be in denial but its your choice as to what is done. At the end of the day its your knowledge versus their knowledge and equipment. If you don't feel comfortable, get another opinion but I don't need one because I trust them. read more

I received dental services between August and November of 2013 from Reflection Dental in Manassas, VA. While the care they took while I was in the chair was good, the office staff and billing procedures led to this 1 star review. They had recommended work that, after speaking with another dentist, did not need to be done. They have repeatedly had to resubmit bills to my insurance company and a year after terminating my service with them, it is still not resolved. I was charged more for services than the insurance company allowed. The prices they charge for services are steep when compared to others. I tried to call the office to get my issues resolved and was told that everyone was out for a meeting. I guess they must not have enough patients if they can go to a meeting for the afternoon. The care was fine that I received, but everything else has been one big headache. Steer clear of this dentist. Save yourself some grief, and cash, and go elsewhere. read more

I hear that competitors will write reviews on sites to deter people from going to a business and I am tending to lead to that is what is going on here. Just because the things that people are saying are simply untrue. And I have been going to this dentist probably 3 years now. By now, I know the routine. So I don't even attempt to get there early. I know once I get in my hygienist is waiting for me and within five minutes I will be called in. ( I just had an appt on Friday). The receptionists are always so friendly. Never rude. This dr's office seems to have many hygenists but they keep you with the same one every time, so it really is like you are seeing someone you haven't seen in awhile and you catch up about your mouth or even your life. I don't know what kind of training these hygenists go through but they are so knowledgable. The first time I went, I pointed out something on my teeth, she immediately told me what it was. I told her I thought she was wrong because years before I asked an actual dentist about this issue and he told me that's just how my teeth are. She told me no, watch when I'm done. Within 20 mins. She was right! I couldn't believe an actual dentist was wrong over her. When I remade my apt 6months later. she was on vacay. so I got someone else. I was disappointed because I really liked the first lady. Surprisingly, this lady was just as knowledgable, and friendly. They just kept me with the second lady which I am fine with. Unfortunately I have no names. I am so bad with names. About Dr. Lee, I know nothing about him. He literally comes in for like 5mins, checks it all out, asks me if I have any questions, never seems to rush me, seems patient with me. But everything he says the hygienist already said. So its just a repetitive type thing anyway. He is nice enough, but in this office it is all about the patient/hygienist relationship since that is who you spend most of your time with. Lastly, this place is pretty pricey (I think). I think fluoride is like $45. All I know is I regret it everytime I get it because I am shocked about the price. All in all, the only way I would switch dentists is if I move to far to make the trip.I feel like my mouth is getting the extra special attention that it deserves when I come to this place. read more

I went here for years because initially it was ok and I was too lazy to go through the hassle of finding a new dentist. They're the worst, when I left it was a dentist mill, I saw the same dentist (the owner?) for the first year but then she had a baby and quit practicing and I saw a new dentist on just about every subsequent visit. The staff are trained to constantly sell you something more than a cleaning. The office manager keeps busy talking to everyone on their "secret service ear pieces", getting your bill wrong, calling you to see if you're single, calling to set up your invisalign appointment (which you will need to refuse on nearly every visit), or forgetting you're there after you've checked in as you wait an hour in the lobby. Finally I called it quits when yet another new dentist was so rough with the floss that he sliced my lip open with it. read more

Customer service is horrible! As a new patient nobody welcomes you they let me wait 30 min without an apology and I had to ask what was going on. The Hygienist was worst she was with a bitter face; did not welcome or introduce but she wanted to take a series of full mouth x_rays. I explained I had x-rays taken I needed only 4 bitewings the cavity detecting x-rays. Without manners and being so rude she insisted with no explanation. I asked for the Dr and so disappointing to realize that they only care about the money not the patient. They just want to charge with no regards to the insurance as much as they can even if the patient does not need it!. I do not recommend this Dental Reflection office in Manassas! read more

Yes dr.lee is ok but you have to pay arm and leg the people who manage the charges are doing their business there they add some stuff in your bill which your insurance doesn't cover. I had a work done for $80 out of my pocket and the rest paid the insurance but I end up paying over $300 out of my pocket and they don't even explain to you the reason of the bill so keep all recipes before and after and track what they done, I caught them this way doing illegal charges. read more

I always have had a great experience at Reflection Dental. The staff there is extremely friendly and always has a smile ready when you walk in. Dr Lee and Jessie are wonderful . Dr. Lee takes his time with me, extremely patient but doesn't let me forget about the work I keep postponing. He truly and honestly cares about my overall health and it shows. I have since recommended several family members there and they have been just as please as I have been. I feel for those people below that did not have a great experience but I have nothing but the best things to say about Reflection Dental. I hate going to the dentist but they make it pleasant and I really do not mind going to see them. read more

My family of 5 have been patients of Reflection Dental for 2+ years. Please steer clear! They are extremely unorganized, provide poor dental work, are rude and I always feel like they are trying to upsell me and fleece me financially. For starters they never have the appointments dates and times right and call my house way too frequently to discuss appointment times etc... We cancelled an appointment 3 days ago for one of my children and they called today to confirm the appointment 'that we cancelled'. Once we told them it was already cancelled they hung up on us. WTF! As far as providing poor dental work I myself had a tooth implant 'base' done by another dentist (emergency) who did a wonderful job (also confirmed from Dr. Lee), but Dr. Lee struggled just to screw the replacement implant tooth in the threads for 30 minutes. At one point he couldn't unseat the implant off the threads to try once again to set it correctly. So he said verbatim "I think I might put some chewing gum on it to try and remove it". Really, all your years in dental school and that is what you come up with?! Next one of my teenage children had a cavity filled. Of course they didn't seal the tooth correctly and back again at the dentist to do repair work on a cavity. This is just a brief synopsis of our trails with Reflection Dental. There were many more!
