After 6 months of visiting this salon regularly, my appointment prior to my wedding arrives and we had all new extensions to be placed (which was pricey). Madi mentions she will tone them which I thought great. She turns them a very gray color (which she kept describing as neutral) when my hair highlights were a more golden tone. I pointed out that they don't match and she tried multiple times to convince me it's all fine. She kept taking pictures in different light to convince me it was fine. I felt very gaslit that we weren't seeing the same thing. We finally got to a point where i was exhausted and wanted to go home and I did feel we had it looking better. The next morning, in daylight, I could see my hair and the extensions DO NOT match or blend whatsoever. And my wedding was in a week. I reached out and again got the sense that Madi didn't want to admit her mistake and fix the issue. (Keep in mind I heard her mutter under her breath that normally extensions take longer to process toner and she didn't know what happened- which I've later learned is actually not true). I said I wanted to get the leftover extensions to have them fixed somewhere last minute (given that my wedding was in a week) and she cancels all my future appointments. Nice customer service. I do not recommend this salon to anyone.

They go beyond the simple cut and color and truly cater looks specifically to what would look good on you, knowing the correct questions to ask their clients in order to meet and often exceed expectations. I often find myself zoning out during my longer appointments for balayage because the atmosphere in this refurbished loft building downtown is SO relaxing! At the end of my appointments I always leave impressed, not just with my own hair results but after watching the results of others. You 100% receive what you pay for - as their prices are what you would expect for a downtown salon. It is worth the money as they always deliver a great product and experience. She rushed through my hair, left me in the rinsing bowl for like 45 minutes, right before she rinsed my hair told me that she wasn't going that blonde until she got to know me better maybe next time (the picture I showed her was clearly light blonde), rushed through my haircut and by that time my appointment was at 4 and I didn't leave until 6:30 so I was starving and was trying to be nice. I got home and there was a spot on my hair right on the front left side that the bleach touched my head and looks like a bald spot. I also had to cut a few stray pieces of my hair that were missed. This is absolutely inexcusable especially for the owner of a salon and for the expensive price I had to pay. I will not be returning and do not recommend.

I seriously doubt you will find quality service as good and affordable as hers in the city. Not only is she fantastic at her job, she is kind, easy-going, accepting, non-judgmental, and conversational. Most of my appointments have just been trims because I'm growing out my hair. However, last time I got deep cherry low-lights and a dark demi-glaze. It took approximately 2.5 hours total, cost $120 (for cut and color). I've received a ton of compliments and I swear it's getting better as I wash it. The salon itself is low-key, which I like. My appointments are in the evenings and usually it is just me, Brittany, and maybe one other customer and/or hairdresser. To me, the private environment is familial and relaxing, versus the hustle and bustle of larger salons. Also, she gives amazing head massages.

I was extremely excited to experience her skills. Pleasantries were exchanged and we jumped right into hair color selection. We vibed! She helped me land on a color then we discussed my cut. I have to mention it's been awhile since I've experienced salon service and this was truly TOP TIER! We chatted during Kierra trimming my ends, which is all I wanted because I want to keep my length. She talked about where she was cutting and why. We talked about hair care, products I use and like, how to use certain products etc. Kierra told me my hair was healthy. Yay I'm doing good! Next to the coloring.. which didn't take too long. Under the dryer, welcomed the extra heat sensation! Offered water. Rinse. Wash. The color was t as vibrant or bright as expected so in counsel with Zaida (owner- fabulous woman), they recommended highlighting and not bleach. I'm guessing my porosity, but my hair didn't absorb too much of the color as expected. It could be from prior self dyeing which was over 4 years ago. Of course I was in agreement with no bleach and appreciated the explanation. So onto the highlighting process. Kierra is such a professional and very personable. Her technique is well seasoned and made me feel so comfortable the entire time! So in between all this I'm trying to keep warm, it was just a little too chilly but I'm always cold. Using the "Powder Room" was a pleasant experience too! It's compact but functional and stylish. There was a trifecta of luxury with Ouai Hand wash, scrub and lotion for utilization that made me feel like I was at a spa! If you can't tell I enjoyed my time here and after the highlights were applied and Kierra took such care in styling my hair and telling me how to shake out the cast and so much more... Zaida facilitated hair photo shoot.. I felt like a beauty queen. I LOVE MY HAIR! I'm definitely going back! All of the other ladies and stylists who were there, gave me so many compliments and hyped me up! I also can't say enough about Kierra.. she knew my desire , executed it, has such a great personality and since of style! Oh and she is a makeup artist too!
