There's really something to be said about having work done by people that care and are passionate about what they do. I just had my attic and garage insulated by Paul and we are going to have him come back next year to do a few other areas of the house. My husband and I are so impressed. I asked if we could discuss a few things on it and the he kept saying he'd call but never did. I tried calling him a few times but eventually gave up. Part of their sales pitch is that they come out for emergency calls for their customers and how there's always someone available but if they can't even call me back to get a project started then why would I believe they'd actually show up when I needed a repair? Their quote was literally double the other quotes I had gotten and the markup on some items was ridiculous. The furnace model was listed on the quote so I looked it up and they were charging me nearly 5x what it cost. And it isn't like they were rolling in labor or other parts because everything was itemized. In the end, I went with a different company who did great work for half the price Halco wanted.

New roof installations don't warranty their jobs without ventilation. Only after I pointed out that my roof is nearly 30 years old and would soon need to be replaced did Pat offer to install ventilation. I told him I didn't feel his initial plan was in the best interests of my needs, and he was nothing but nasty. To his credit, he cancelled the contract.
