So we checked online last night at about 4:30pm which was dicey in itself because they close at 5. But we drove down there anyway to talk with them, and even as they were closing, they were able to make a spot for us this morning 8/28/25. We got there at 8am and before we could ask, Kira at the front desk offered to find us a ride back to our hotel. We gratefully accepted! The owner Rick gave us a ride and after talking for a few minutes, we felt very comfortable with both him and his establishment. He assured us that they would do everything in their power to get us back on the road as quickly as possible. Right after 9am, we got a call from them, letting us know they found the issue and would start fixing it right away. So we took a short walk around our hotel's neighborhood and not long after we came back, the phone rang again. They had fixed our truck and it was ready! It wasn't even noon yet! We were very impressed. And Rick came back to pick us up at our hotel to get our truck. I have been stuck here for 3 weeks waiting and getting the run around from another garage. A local here at a diner told me about Red Mountain Automotive so I went and talked to them. They had me a transmission picked up in Salt Lake City and installed in my vehicle the next day. Plus those guys were willing to work a Saturday during a holiday weekend if needed to get me back on the road. Thankfully everything went smoothly and they got me done that day. My advice is always try to talk to some locals and get a line on a good garage in these situations. I only wish I would have taken my on advice. Lesson learned.
