The theater was so charming! It has couches you can sit on which looked fun and cozy. The place felt clean but did have an older vibe to it. The food smelled good and the drinks and tickets were all reasonably priced. There was an intermission too which was great, especially since we were seeing a longer movie. Was the perfect snowy night in town!!

This is such a fun place! With delicious gourmet pizza; they even have a whole wheat crust option!! Also freshly popped popcorn, fresh cut fruit and wine among other libations! What?! And a movie! Some seating is typical with an added counter-type table, and in front rows are couches with TV trays! So much fun for families! Wonderful atmosphere with a relaxed have fun vibe! We had a rainy day and chose to go to a late afternoon show to see the new Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movie. This whimsical movie theater pizzeria is right off the free Island Explorer bus system at the Village Green downtown Bar Harbor; just a quick hop on hop off right across from the theater! We were sooo pleasantly surprised that they had pizza with WW crust and it was Fantastic! I would say this is an absolute must-do experience on your visit to Bar Harbor! #ReelPizzaCinerama!

Great cinema, pizza was great and screaming hot, sound system and screen was good, seating was good, good for larger parties, recommend this to anyone who wants to see a new movie and have some food.

Was waiting for the shuttle back to the visitor's center of Acadia and noticed their beer garden outside. We decided to grab a drink while we waited. Inside was very busy. We noticed it was a cute retro-style movie theater. Wish we had the time to stay for a movie but the beer garden was pleasant while we waited. Could use a little revamping on the outside but still loved it here! Will be back for a movie!

We saw Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 and ordered pizza. I had the vegan cheese with pineapple and also popcorn with nutritional yeast. My husband got the ranchero pizza. We loved watching the movie on a couch. Fun and great food!

The interior. See the couches? COUCHES!!!

So, welcome to Bar Harbor, Maine - the summer playground to the smarter, more low-key part of old money America. Sure, they got Asian bus tours going down Main street all the time, but if you are in town past 6p you are likely staying at a B&B (or AirBnB at someone else's summer home), so huzzah, congratulations to you, more things to do. But suppose you don't want to barhop or go on moonlight walks down the shore path? Then what? Well, there's Real Pizza Cinerama, anointed the "best movie theater in Bar Harbor" by tourists...which is funny because there's only 2 theaters in town. Okay, the general walkthrough - mostly second run movies, although they do try and get first run stuff (they showed Inside Out upon the second week of theater release), $6/ticket, cheap concession, comfy couches for your seats (that is, if you call first dibs on it). They got DIY trays to hold your pizza, and they got pizza fixins', utensils, plates and pitchers of ice water with cups for you. Awesome, nice to know that the owner does not try to nickel and dime you. (That being said, he does put in intermissions every 30 minutes to sell more stuff...which is actually fine). My only beef is that they offer only 2 movies each week, 2 showings a day, so if you want choices...not gonna happen. They got pizza on hand. Not spectacularly great pizza, but definitely serviceable (I am almost tempted to say that they are also the only pizzeria in town...but they are likely not). Think "one notch above Dominos/equal to your local Vinnie's" So in summary, cheap tickets, decent pizza, cheap concessions, generous offerings, comfy seats, clean, situated next door to the only national park on the east coast. Yeah, I'll go back in a heartbeat.

This last experience was a couple days ago to watch the Nosferatu movie and the movie started. They didn't close any of the doors or even turn the lights off. The light wash on the screen was awful, as you can see in the video clip. I also was sitting in the back in a chair that was busted listening to the movies across the hall because all of the theater doors are open. I went out and shut the doors for the theaters right around our and then the doors for Narato so that I can actually listen to the Nosferatu movie not every other movie that had allowed crash bang audio track. Not a lot of options around and the theater is not bad, it's just I was left unimpressed. Also, the popcorn gives me a major stomach ache

The ladies at the counter where okay, not over the top but also not bad. The popcorn was good but super salty. Now, I had read some of the reviews before coming and I was afraid about having a bad experience like some said they did but for my surprise I had a regular time in a regular cinema! THE LIGHTS WHERE OFF!!! And THE DOORS WHERE CLOSED!!! Lucky me lol. The sit was a little hard but also the movie was somewhat long. And for last, the bathroom smell good and looked decent.

We drove here from Bar Harbor on a rainy day to see Top Gun. The next day was rainy so we drove…read moreback to see Jurassic Park! Overall, the facility was clean and well kept. The ticket sellers were friendly. The seating could not be purchased beforehand and it was pretty packed. One thing: the first movie we went to had a series of 'commercials' which ran for a good 10 minutes at the start time of the movie. This was followed by another 10 minutes or so of coming attractions. It just seemed a little odd that the local commercials (volume MUCH too loud for some) would not be played as folks were waiting for the film to start (ie. before the start time of the film). There was one for a seat belt PSA which showed a mom being greeted by a trooper to say her son was killed; it was a little much for some of the patrons who complained loudly. Interestingly, this PSA, although relevant and a needed reminder, was not played the second day. Popcorn was good, but not hot. Seats were comfy. Overall, it was a nice way to spend a few hours during a downpour. There's a great restaurant, Timber, nearby which we'd highly recommend.

Wanted to check-out the latest "Mission Impossible" and was gonna see it in Orono, but it turned…read moreout the Movie Rocket cinemas had "re-opened," so we thought we'd see it there since we've never been to that theater. Well, driving up to the theater complex was not promising, with a parking lot that was barely asphalted, and a building that truly looked like a warehouse masquerading as a cinema, with a façade that didn't even have a marquee, much less anything appealing to lure anyone inside! (See my pics.) Inside, the entryway was dull and out-of-place, with a handful of sad-looking arcade machines -- do kids even have an interest in these antiquated thing-a-ma-jigs?!?! Anyway, no one was making use of any of it. We paid for our film at the concession stand. I always buy popcorn and soda, no matter what movie I see (or even if I just had lunch prior to the film!), just because.... That said, their popcorn was lackluster, but edible. Tom Cruise was delegated to one of the back theaters (there were only us two for the entire film!); it wasn't looking promising.... The house itself was very basic like any other mainstream theater complex: rectangular room with a flat, rectangular screen. Surprisingly, the seats were very comfortable, roomy, with a lot of legroom. (It made the film immensely more enjoyable!) Unfortunately, there was a lot of "bleeding" of soundtrack from adjoining houses -- not horrifically, but it was there throughout, even with all the explosions in our film. Overall, I will say that we probably will drive a little further to Orono for any future films; nevertheless, our experience at Movie Rocket was decent and OK. (And, too, it was cheaper in Orono for matinees....) ;)
