All I needed was to wait to file my case for another 2 months. From there, I opted to cancel his service and I only got partial of my payment. He and his team (Megan) lacks communication. It takes weeks for either one of them to get back to you. Megan had all my paperwork all wrong. In 2023, I heard about Guideway from a title company (who would not help me) when my mother passed…read moreaway and I needed to get the deed/title for home changed as her successor trustee. The process was smooth, clear, efficient, and less expensive than I expected for legal work. In 2025, I remembered my good experience and contacted Guideway again. As successor trustee of a different estate which includes a house that is not paid off, I was asked by the mortgage company for proof that the trust was still valid. This trust is from 2017 and had no connection with Guideway. I was at a loss about what would prove that the trust was still valid; nothing had changed. I was so happy to reach Ian Duncan at Guideway! He knew what I needed immediately, told me what it would cost (once again, not much!), and shared clearly what the steps would be. I work full time and don't live very close to Walnut Creek, but we were able to do everything online. Ian also took my phone call when I had questions (some of which were more like irrational worries), and talked me though my concerns and what the options were. He was so clearly experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and also warm and understanding. I requested an appt with Ms Grimes Law office because I had lost my Living Trust documents, perhaps…read morein a previous move. She wrote a column in the Rosemoor News and offer a 1/2 free consultation. When I made the appt the office emailed me a 15 page questionnaire that I had to fill prior to my appt., which I did. The day of the appt I received a call from her office asking me to bring my previous Trust. I told the office person that I had lost it and that it was the reason why I had to do a new one. At that point Ms Grimes interrupted the conversation ( she was obviously ear dropping on the phone) telling me that she could do nothing for me unless I had that Trust. The attorney that I had used is not in the area any more and I cannot locate her. She may be retired or have died. Ms Grimes then told me that there was nothing she could do for me, in not a very friendly manner, and ended up shouting "Good Luck!" Before hanging up on me. I am not sure what to think of her. Obviously she was having a very bad day but it is still a very unprofessional way to speak to anybody... I can hardly believe it!!
