I've used guideway for many years to do my living trust and to take care of everything I need legally. Their services are fairly priced, friendly and quick. Even a quick update to my trust is not too cumbersome. I thought creating a living trust would be a headache, but they made the process extremely easy. Having just been the trustee for my late mother's estate. I now know what it's like to be on the other side and to ensure that everything is clear and the instructions are easy to follow. Guideway makes that happen And Everyone in their office is super friendly read more

In 2023, I heard about Guideway from a title company (who would not help me) when my mother passed away and I needed to get the deed/title for home changed as her successor trustee. The process was smooth, clear, efficient, and less expensive than I expected for legal work. In 2025, I remembered my good experience and contacted Guideway again. As successor trustee of a different estate which includes a house that is not paid off, I was asked by the mortgage company for proof that the trust was still valid. This trust is from 2017 and had no connection with Guideway. I was at a loss about what would prove that the trust was still valid; nothing had changed. I was so happy to reach Ian Duncan at Guideway! He knew what I needed immediately, told me what it would cost (once again, not much!), and shared clearly what the steps would be. I work full time and don't live very close to Walnut Creek, but we were able to do everything online. Ian also took my phone call when I had questions (some of which were more like irrational worries), and talked me though my concerns and what the options were. He was so clearly experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and also warm and understanding. His patience showed no end when I asked for a small follow-up revision (out of my own caution, likely unnecessary) on the document. He quickly revised it and sent it to me within hours. Throughout the process, Ian was very responsive and efficient -- even replying to me outside of business hours, which I would never expect -- and was friendly, clear, and patient. I'm so happy to have Guideway, especially Ian, and to have this bureaucratic issue resolved. Thank you!! read more

The way we were treated by the gentleman who worked there was absolutely insane. He's a condescending, rude person with zero regard for anyone other than himself. The way he spoke to my Mother who's a 76 year old disabled lady in a wheelchair was atrocious. Please think twice before using this business. Or at least do not have Ian do any work for you! read more

They made the process extremely easy to navigate and were super responsive, fast, and adaptable. Very professional service, 100% recommend.

Instructions were provided clearly and services and documents prepared expeditiously. Very satisfied with services for what we needed.

I had paid off a loan that I secured by x amount of acers of land. And yes sir, the title company was worthless to assist. I called a friend that does loans held by promissory notes secured by land. He recommended Guideway and I contacted there Walnut Creek office. These gave me there procedures and address, set an appointment, what docs. to bring, made the appointment, met with the powers to be, we completed the paperwork, followed the remaining steps. All went very well. They are a very good professional company. 5 red stars. read more

Easy to work with and did a great job. Super efficient and professional. Highly recommend using them

Very professional and courteous staff and most importantly - super fast results. Reasonable too. I would highly recommend their services.

They did a great job for us recording a deed with the county. Fast, competent and made it easy for us. Highly recommend!

Work done on time for the price quoted. Ian and Alex couldn't have been more patient with some of the extra questions and concerns I had. Would not have any hesitation to recommend them for all your paralegal needs. These guys rock. ;) Thank you Ian. read more

When our daughter unexpectedly passed away in 2021, we needed a legal document professional to prepare and oversee the complicated process of obtaining Letters of Guardianship for a Minor's Estate. I was referred to Brook Thurston at Guideway by a paralegal. That was the best call I could have made! Through each step of this complex document preparation process and filing, we found Brook to be extremely knowledgeable and professional with outstanding attention to detail. She promptly returned our calls and patiently answer our many questions. Even though our document request was during the COVID pandemic which impacted the Court's ability to efficiently process their document load, we received the final order on time. Without a doubt, Brook made a very stressful situation manageable read more

Wonderful experience start to finish and done at a very fair price! Very knowledgeable and personable with explaining all areas of concern. Will use them again for future requirements and advise others to do likewise! read more

Months ago I realized it was time to review financial plans. I learned we were holding title to our house the wrong way to avoid probate. So I needed to change the grant deed, but was worried about property tax reassessment. I called numerous attorneys, all of whom wanted to charge thousands for an estate plan. We don't need an estate plan or trust. Just want to avoid probate. Finally some nice lawyer took pity on me and recommended Guideway. So glad he did! All papers were properly changed and the process was so easy and reasonably priced and quick. We got copies of everything and I was so relieved to get this task accomplished without much effort. read more

I was referred to Guideway by my Financial Advisory to assist with transferring home to the Trust. The entire process was very seamless and quick. Often we postpone things we need to do thinking it will be complicated, but Guideway made as painless as possible. read more

Efficient, professional, courteous and affordable. What more can you ask for? Nuff said.

Guideways came recommended by my attorney for some basic paperwork. It was easy to schedule an appointment and complete the paperwork. Not only one stop and all done...but months later I needed copies and they were quick to respond. read more

When our mother passed away, we had forgotten to include the property she had downsized to into her living trust. We called Guideways and Brook Thurston took on our dilemma and quickly and efficiently filled the necessary paperwork to petition the mistake and get a court hearing which went without a hitch and sorted the problem. She also wrote to all the necessary parties. Very good service and communication throughout. Highly recommend Brook and the firm. read more

Unfortunately I had the experience to have to talk with an employee there named Brook Thurston. She was very rude and unprofessional and insulting. I see you have a flat rate of $4200, well she charged $8,000 and something. A bad experience for all involved. read more

NOT GOOD NOTARY SEVICES!!! I been here multiple time to get notary services and they've been consistently bad about making one feel welcomed about getting notary services.!!! It occurred to me they're main focus is helping clients with legal services. Skip the notary service here! read more

In 2014, I would've given 5 stars to Guideway for its work on my living trust. The price was affordable, the staff professional and attentive, and the document flawlessly done. Fast forward 11 years to 2025 and the terrible experience of having this company make amendments to my trust. The fee was shockingly overpriced--indeed, almost the same as for the original trust. And the absurd price resulted in sloppiness--getting my daughter's name as well as her home address wrong, really?--with nary an apology when brought to their attention. To cap it off I had to sit through the notary signing with a haughty staff who lacked any social niceties. I'd suggest staying away from this company. read more

Super easy to work with, very clear communication, and super efficient for getting the paperwork done, getting a notary signing appointment booked, and getting things signed. Would definitely recommend them for any official document prep and signing!! read more

Excellent service, quality of documents at a very reasonable value! I first did my divorce and child custody docs through them and it was quick and painless. Was able to get what both me and my ex wanted in the docs and through court without having to step foot in the courtroom. I also just did my trust through them. Super fast and easy and at a very good price! One thing I'll note is to make sure to read the first version of the doc carefully and make any edits you need. They do a really good job at it but sometimes you need to make sure it's what you wanted. Revisions are quick and easy too when you need something changed! read more

We saved over $25k by having the Guideway team lead us through the process without having to hire an estate attorney. The guided us through all the steps. Also they created my sisters trust too. Lol I wrote a review for their horrible service and it literally took them 10 MONTHS to reply??!!! Insane! If that doesn't speak volumes about how much they care about their business and tell you everything you need to know? I don't know what will. read more

I had California Document Preparers (now Guideway) prepare my documents for an uncontested divorce plus a joinder for a QDRO (QDRO itself prepared elsewhere), circa January 2021. It was affordable and one year later I am satisfied with the work they did. Thank heavens it all went through and I am happily and legally divorced. But the service I received left some major things to be desired. After being meticulous checking over the forms that I and my ex submitted to Guideway, we ran into issue after issue with their processing of our information, production of filled out legal docs, and treatment of us. First, Guideway claimed there was a "fatal flaw" in our forms; after some back and forth they admitted it was their website that had a problem. Then, they took our inputted information, and then filled out legal forms with numerous typos, including name mispellings, omissions of required fields (like addresses and income), etc. And they sometimes failed to respond to requests for updates; I would give them a week, then follow up with a second email, and only then receive a response. All of this carelessness forced us to repeatedly edit Guideway's work, and indeed, their policy states that they are not responsible for errors in their own work. I remember, clear as day, when I finally got our agent on the phone, and she was hostile toward me. She said her dyslexia was why there were so many typos in our paperwork (which hadn't existed when we submitted them), and that I was overreacting. I had merely asked her to double-check subsequent forms to prevent new errors from being introduced. The repeated name misspelling felt like a slap in the face. I eventually gave up complaining because I wanted the divorce to be completed, much more than I wanted to be right. I presume this wasn't Guideway's first rodeo with divorce papers, but boy, the attitude I received on the phone from them made me feel better about my divorce--because I wasn't divorcing Guideway themselves. Given that their service, for a basic divorce with few assets, cost $1200, it may in fact have been a good deal. But I cannot in good faith recommend this organization to anyone looking for help with legal paperwork who wants to decrease their stress. read more

Was greeted by an in-experienced person that had no idea how to execute the most simple document. It's ironic because this used to be a better place. Quite frankly I wouldn't have these cowboys copy a form on a printer. Complete joke of a business. read more
