I have been using Guideway (formerly CA DOC Preparers) for 11 years now and very much appreciate the relationship I have developed with them. They are so generous with their knowledge and have  become my "go to" source of information when I have questions about payroll, paying state taxes, setting up my DBA, filing my divorce, setting up my Corporation, setting up my Living Trust, Deed transfers, and more! Ian especially is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help me with any associated intimidating paperwork--even long after their services have been paid for!  I swear he has a rolodex of all the different bureaucratic forms in his head as a mere hint at one will launch him into a quick run down of all the different answers I need. So long as you don't need the advice of a lawyer, I don't know why anyone would choose a lawyer over Guideway.  Most lawyers bill by the hour and are oh so happy to be milking the clock.  Moreover, they often suggest more than you need just to fatten their wallets or cover their behinds.   Not so with Guideway;  you pay them a flat rate for their services and it's on them to get it done within a timely fashion.  Moreover, your questions are patiently answered at no extra cost!  With all the stresses of starting and running a business, it's so nice to know that my legal paperwork is not something I have to worry about--not with Guideway backing me! read more

Horrible unreliable complete waste it time. They messed up my notary for passport services . Wasted the whole day at the sf passport office because of them. To top it off manager didn't bother too call back and see what happened. If they can't handle a simple notary would definitely not trust them to manage more complicated services. read more

This is the worst company with whom I've never been so disappointed. After waiting 5 weeks for a few corrections to be made on my trust, I received a draft that was completely boggled. The xhusband was not removed but instead my niece was removed and xhusband was given a piece of property. There were other errors as well. When I expressed my displeasure, they told me to make corrections on a hardcopy and send it back to them. When I did this, they told me they didn't like my corrections and couldn't understand them. Then they told me we would need another hour conversation to do what I already did with them five weeks ago. Furthermore, the woman on the phone claimed to be my representative Valerie, but instead, it was not Valerie Williams. It was Brooke Thurston. She fraudulently told me that she was Valerie. She clearly had no idea what was going on. And they were treating me poorly for some error they had made. I told them that I was very unhappy. I did not want to do business with them and I would like a refund. They refused. They were extremely unprofessional and rude and eventually they just hung up on me. They charge me $370 to destroy my trust, delayed me five weeks, And they will not refund it. I will not work with criminals so they can keep it. I have further reported them to every business Bureau possible. And I will not stop. Ripping off people who are already financially struggling is evil. read more

Horrible unreliable complete waste of time. the Oakland office where they had me go half an hour before my appointment with Valerie Jackson was a disaster waiting. at 12:30 I knocked on her door after being told to get there 1/2 hour early then was told to wait five minutes more in which I did and knocked on her door again and was told to wait another few minutes at which point, I did. After doing so I then knocked on her door again stating my client and I were leaving at which point she still did nothing to accomplish what we paid in advance for, and we left. now the so-called owner Ian Duncan stated no refunds, and I am now preparing for court and the better business bureau he can care less about you more so than his staff please heed to this advice and don't use any of his services unless you want to become a victim too. read more
