Has been doing the job over 4 weeks, yes it rained few days, the insulation he suggested and would only be what he paid for material. He charged me 1800 for insulation I checked on cost 900. Not paying is flat out lie, he was paid 9000.00 for a job that he quoted 10,000 and he was paid up too the last day, which had been over 2 weeks since they had done anything.Yes the job was going over and asked him to come out and figure what it was going to be. He never checked the job. The so called metal ordered was never done. The few sheets of metal has been there 3 weeks, I asked his workers why they wasn't putting the j channel around edge, said they was just putting up what they had and would take the metal back off and put it up when they got it . He gave me a bill for that days work, with overpriced material and charged for hours they didn't work . Told him I wasn't paying anymore till job was done and right. The 9 pieces of metal they put will be took off and put out to be picked up , which looks like the wrong gauge. They used my material and made a break for metal because said they didn't have portable one. He took a job he wasn't qualified to do. Warning to homeowners looking for a contractor: Beware of Reed construction & land clearing. We hired them to put tin siding on the house and it was a huge mistake. He estimated the job for 10 thousand and we had already paid him nearly 9 thousand with still no tin on the house and the attic exposed since March 20th. We called several times about birds in the attic but he never closed it up. On April 16th they came back and started on the tin. They were trying to bend the tin by hand. When it didn't work they took hinges off our door and took wood out of our basement and made themselves a tool to bend it with. They have it bent to hold water instead of run off. They got up nine pieces of tin that day. My husband asked why there was no channel behind it. They said they didn't have any and would have to take it back down to put it up when they got some. ?! They still didn't work on the open overhang. Then they came up wanting a bunch more money. My husband refused to pay any more until they finished and did it right. He didn't work on it himself. He had a guy named Roy overseeing everything. Roy is incredibly incompetent. His main concern is gaining access to your bathroom. He demands access even if you aren't home. Jaron Reed does not supply the crew with a portable toilet. Also Roy doesn't listen to anything you tell him. I texted him a picture of the style door to get. It was window on the top and panel on the bottom half. He brought and installed a full glass door. It takes him all day to work on one door. They don't open and close right. He lost the plate to the deadbolt. And on the two doors he changed out he put both door knobs on upside down. Yes Roy there is a certain way they go, you should Google it. They spent six days that they actually showed up putting the foam insulation up. They didn't put enough screws in. Some boards had only one screw. This is the quality you can expect from them. I wouldn't hire them to mow the grass. They get one star only because I can't leave less. read more
