We were not happy with the last service maintenance we did there, and they kept messing up with our repairs that we had to keep going back. We ended up not going back after we got fed up with them. Found SK Motor on Yelp and got in for an oil change. Never went anywhere else afterward. The guys were so responsive, and they just took really good care of my husband's car. They offer great promos, and you can tell they want to keep their clients happy. I'm happy to say that they have our business for sure.

Because I'm located in California, I had the X5 M BMW delivered to me. Within the first two minutes of driving it, I encountered multiple serious mechanical issues -- none of which were reported in the PPI. These included a check engine light with a Cylinder 3 misfire code, a parking brake malfunction, and a drivetrain malfunction. All of this surfaced during a two-minute drive from where the car was dropped off to my home. When I respectfully explained the situation to Joe at SK Motorsport including sending him pictures and video of said issues, he informed me that scanning for check engine lights would cost $225.00 -- literally $1.34 more than I had already paid for the entire inspection. None of this was disclosed to me beforehand. It's clear to me that SK Motorsport has a financial interest in keeping MB Motors LLC happy so they can continue receiving PPI referrals from the dealership. As a result, they perform incomplete, half-hearted inspections and deliberately omit significant mechanical issues to avoid jeopardizing that relationship -- at the direct expense of the buyer. I will be sharing photos and video documenting these issues. You'll see in one of the screenshots below Joe also charged me $223.66 when he states the PPI is $205.00. Wasn't a big deal to me but another example that's shows this shop has zero integrity. Do yourself a favor and find an independent shop with no ties to the dealership before making a purchase like this. I'll attach pictures of the PPI, Pictures and videos of the issues with car right after receiving delivery as well as Joes response to the situation.

We had been on the road for over a month and had no resources to repair the damage. Sterling was swamped when we stopped by, and I held no hope for a fix, but Mr. Sterling said to sit for a bit and he would see what he could do. Soon two of them were under my truck removing the damage board. Damon did the dirty work and I shortly I had the broken piece in my truck. He is a ratchet drill wizard! I went inside to settle, but Mr. Sterling just said to "pass it on". I will and I will not soon forget a great shop with great folk. If I ever break down in Bellingham, you are my guys!

Unfortunately, I've had a really distasteful experience just recently and am therefore going elsewhere for my future auto service needs. I called to schedule a service appointment requesting three items be addressed: install new headlight assembly (with the new part that I provided), fix front passenger door lock that had stopped working (actuator replacement), and oil change, and I was given a quote for this work. During the work, they called me and told me that I also needed a new PCV valve, which would add $173.39 to the cost, which I approved. When I went to pick up my vehicle, they hadn't addressed the door lock issue at all and said that they could offer me a quote for that. However, they had already quoted me for that, which is why my vehicle was there to begin with! In the end, they charged me the full amount without having replaced the actuator. As I look at other reviews, I see I'm not the first to have had this experience with Sterling. Lastly, when I called around about getting the door lock fixed elsewhere, it was much cheaper than the additional amount they were wanting. If you are going to go with Sterling, I would highly recommend you get *everything* in writing, even if the conversation on the phone is as clear as day. Otherwise, all you're going to hear is "oops, sorry for your misunderstanding."

I drove and dropped off my car on my schedule day at around 8am. Here are my observations. They must get a lot of business since there were tons of cars around their parking lot and both of the shops were busy with cars being work on. Khai the owner was friendly when I drop off my car and seem to know what he is doing. Confidence from mechanic is a good sign. Seem to be a "local" place because when I was there, a lot of his customers seem to know him and called him by name. Again-- another good sign. The only thing that was a bummer is that there's no waiting room due to Covid so you have to either get a ride back or wait outside. There is 1 chair for anyone who needs to sit and wait outside the office. Otherwise you will need to find a curve on the street sidewalk or a random place on their parking lot to put your bottom on while you wait. I was lucky enough I got a ride to and from so waiting there was not an issue for me. I did see people who were wait near the office. As a suggestion to the owner--maybe offer those who have to wait a bottle of water while they wait? Or some coffee? etc. Maybe even have a tent or covering with some outside seating on their lot somewhere? That is a bit of going beyond..but I think your customers (especially the ones with small kids and the elderly) who can't get a ride would really appreciate. That would have totally make my review a 5 stars for sure..even if I didn't need it myself. Just show that the owner cares about his customers during these Covid times and that there's no waiting room available.

Be honest: how many mechanics have you dealt with who actually aim to reduce the cost of the service?! Alex did!! My old '99 Voyager was acting wonky; it would start but then some components would work while others wouldn't.. one day the windows operated, but the wipers or heater fan wouldn't; the next day NONE of them worked; the next day they all worked fine.. and so on and so on Got a brand new top-of-the-line Napa battery.. didn't help .. so then I had the alternator tested by 3 different places who all said it had a bad diode, so I reached out to a few companies here, got quotes, and Armstrong's was the most reasonable price (plus nearby my place) so I brought the Voyager in, crossing my fingers that some unknown -expensive- additional work wouldn't be urged on me, as I've frequently experienced with other repairs Long story short, Alex told me it actually wasn't the alternator being bad, it was the ignition switch, and I gotta be honest and say I was hugely skeptical because the other companies had advised me to get a new alternator, why would they recommend it if it wasn't the problem? ...but I decided to trust Alex, and the repair cost was literally HALF the cost of replacing the alternator (which was already a very reasonable price!) But this morning was the iron test: would everything work like it did when I picked up my vehicle? IT SURE DID --the wipers, the windows, the heater fan ALL WORKED AT THE SAME TIME!! That hasn't happened in forever! LOL This review is getting long but I wanted to share the deets because frankly, given the symptoms, the tests AND my belief in the test results... Alex could have very easily done the cheaper ignition repair but said nothing and charged for the more expensive alternator replacement that I was asking for -and I wouldn't have known the difference and would've just been happy to have things working- but he was honest and upfront and didn't take advantage of my ignorance.. like other shops around here have done or tried to do to me in the past How awesome is THAT?! So believe me when I say that everyone reading this who might be searching for a mechanic they can trust as much as they'd trust a friend to do the work (if they had the skills) .....look no further This is a good person who does good work! ~~listen to Grandma, now~~

All the attempts to start had drained what charge was left from the battery, and I suspected the starter was bad and possibly draining the battery. To their credit they got the car started, but the only change was slightly different cable angle on the starter & alternator, and severely damaged battery terminals that look like they have been smashed in with a hammer, and tightened so tight that they can no longer be removed. I took before and after photos of the engine, and these are the only things that were altered, so I can only determine that they charged my battery successfully and slightly changed the angle of the battery connections, and then smashed in my terminals so they could no longer be removed. I was then charged $280 for this privilege. The only saving grace was that they also confirmed the starter was bad, which I thought was the case anyway, and once I swapped out and reinstalled a new starter it functions properly. (The starter ended up melting the testing device used at the location I bought the starter...) TLDR: They recharged my battery, shifted cable placement, smashed in my battery terminals so they are now permanent battery fixtures, and charged me almost $300 for that amazing service... Edit for owner response: Which specific wire are you claiming to have melted? There are only three wires/cables that connect to the starter, the positive battery cable, the starter solenoid wire, and the negative battery cable to ground. None of which were replaced OR melted. Do you have any pictures of these melted mystery wires? The bolts were also not tightened to the point that the report claimed, as my wireless ratchet wrench is not physically capable of tightening them to that degree, as it automatically stops when it meets resistance. It cannot overtighten things. The alternator was also installed correctly, there are only two connections to the alternator and both were fully connected and in the same locations before and after pickup. "would never damage parts of the vehicle to get things back on." My mangled battery terminals beg to differ, as my attached pictures can attest. They were brand new and installed that same day actually, not a scratch on them until they were brought to you guys. The damage didn't just magically appear on its own.
