SCAM ALERT !!! WOW $1300 to install a DROP in kitchen…read moresink??? I was quoted $180 per hour to install a new sink and faucet. I asked LORI approximately how many hours to install she said 3-4 hours. I guess they saw my house and ran with it. The workers came the first time and stayed EXACTLY 1 hour and 7 minutes. The sink was bent and a new one was ordered. The second visit I was there with the two guys for 1 hour and 16 minutes and the sink was in and they began connecting all the plumbing. I had to leave and go to work. Not quite sure how long that took but I was charged for 6 hours, that never happened ! MR. BRAD RODGERS if you needed money to charge me DOUBLE, keep the money! I sleep great every night knowing I did the right thing. I will say the install was beautiful but considering the sink and faucet was only $434 and install was $1300 , that just doesn't make sense. Don't worry a complaint w the BBB is next. Have a great day MR. BRAD RODGERS.

I called the office, and they apoligized, making an appointment for a couple of days later. This time Mr Rodgers showed up 2 hours late ( no call to let us know) and mumbled something about an unexpected meeting. Once he arrived, he was very professional, and seemed to have some great solutions. I agreed to move forward, and Mr Rodgers promised to send over a quote that evening. 2 days later I called the office, asking if the quote might have been sent to the wrong email. She apologized, and promised to have the quote sent that afternoon. The following week, I called again, looking for the quote. Again, I was promised to have the quote that afternoon. I spent several weeks with their promises to do it 'today'... It's been a month now, and we still never received the quote. I am very happy that our MS economy is great, and Mr Rodgers does not need my business. I am not so happy that he was so rude and disrespectful of my time and effort. I would NOT recommend calling this company, unless you really don't want the work done in this lifetime.

Although quick to respond to after-hours phone call, it took the guy (Scotty) far too long to find…read moremy plumbing problem. He did finally locate and remove obstruction after fiddling with things for several hours. He specifically said on the phone that I would not be charged anything extra for after-hours, and the fee would be $100 per hour. So I hired him based on trusting his statement. However, when he arrived, driving a You Haul rental truck instead of a company vehicle, he did a "bait-and-switch" on me and said the boss lady said no, he had to charge $125 per hour instead of their "usual" $100 per hour, billed in 30-min. increments. But they were giving me a break by only adding $25 an hour more. I called at 8:30 p.m., and two hours later, he arrived. I specifically said, "It's 10:30 p.m. now. How long do you think this will take?" He said, "Should be way less than an hour, but we have a minimum one-hour charge." Believing the cost would be no more than a total of $125, I agreed to let him try to find the issue. Additionally, I was never told that the time started when he left the shop, and that would be $62.50 for him driving an estimated 30 mins., from Pearl to Madison. When I got the invoice, however, on top of already charging me $62.50 for the trip, he then tacked on another $20 + sales tax as a "gas and mileage charge." I considered that to be double-dipping and gouging me for more money. When I questioned the padded bill, he said that he "helped me out" by stopping the clock a little early or it would have been even more than $422.65 to find and remove a chewed-up washcloth and chewed-up remnants of a garment, both assumed to have gotten into the washing machine drain somehow. Truth is, he spent a lot of time talking, scratching his head of what to do, searching for a clean-out plug instead of quickly finding the issue as he said he could do (on the phone and again when he arrived, reassuring me that it would likely take far less than one hour). Even though he did find and remove the obstruction, for which I was grateful, I say that "we helped HIM out" by having the toilet already removed for much quicker access and also taking care of reinstalling the toilet ourselves after he left. Us doing that saved him a lot of work and time. No, I DO NOT recommend this company based on what I believe were false and misleading representations and price gouging me as a customer! Either they're performing HVAC miracles... or someone's got a heavy hand on the delete key. Here's my experience: I got home after a week of travel to find my AC completely off. I checked the basics -- thermostat battery, breakers, etc. -- but no luck. I called around, and Reed was the only company that had time to come out. At the time, I was relieved. Now... I have an idea why they had availability. The so-called technician arrived and diagnosed the issue as a bad coil -- said it needed replacing for $280. Not great, but I figured okay, let's get it fixed. Then he went out to inspect the outside unit, called me over, and showed me some exposed wires. "Actually," he says, "it's not the coil -- the short happened here." I thought, well, maybe that's a good thing -- wires have to be cheaper than a coil, right? Nope. "That'll be $280 to fix." Funny coincidence -- same exact price as the original issue. I raised an eyebrow and said, "You've got to be kidding me." suddenly, without hesitation $180. Impressive how fast that price dropped $100. So, I said, it's hot and I'll have air. I said sure, go ahead and fix the wires. Twenty minutes later, he's back with a plot twist: "Actually, the short damaged your air compressor and is shot. He begins to explain that the unit should be under warranty and if I knew the owners name that had it installed, I could get it fixed for about $2,200 if it's under warranty, $5,000+ if it's not." At that point, I felt like I was in an episode of HVAC: The Upsell Chronicles. Not entirely convinced, I brought in another company for a second opinion. Guess what? The only issue was the wiring. Compressor? Totally fine. They not only fixed the wiring but gave me a complete inspection all for the low price of $195. No drama, no doom, no five-grand surprises. Moral of the story: If you're in or around Vicksburg, MS and you're having electrical issues AC/Heater "DO NOT CALL REED" Call: Martin Air Conditioning & Elect. You will be glad you did.
