WORST BOX EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I`ve visited a lot of boxes abroad during my holidays - all boxes, whether in the US or in Europe - were great and had nice and qualified coaches, but Crossfit Louvre was a disaster! At first sight, the box looks quite fancy, though a little bit Reebok commercialized. But appearances are deceitful. After paying 25 (!!) euros per person, we were on our own. The "coach" didn´t introduce himself to us nor was he in any way interested in us - in all the other boxes we´ve visited, the coaches were very welcoming, asked about our crossfit skill level, sometimes they even tried to accommodate our wishes regarding the workout.
Even though the "coach" realized that we don´t speak any French, he hold the entire class in French. We were lucky, that we had to make up teams of three and that a local guy in our team translated everything into english for us. Otherwise we wouldn`t have understood ANYTHING. And obviously, the coach could speak at least a little bit of English, but he just didn't care.
The class was really overcrowded (about 25 people), so no wonder that the coach lost track of everything. The "warm up" consisted of doing some arm circles - that´s it!! And as my previous speaker already mentioned, you have to use plates when using a barbell and there is no weight dropping allowed. What the hell??! Crossfit without weight dropping??! Furthermore, the box had very poor equipment: the "jump ropes" were home-made of chopped pieces of small tubes (?), and they had only about four little plates for the barbells, just lots of 10kg plates and more....
The entire class was really confusing (even for the locals, who at least understood the language...), nobody knew what to do, and without a clear line. The coach was very incompetent and showed almost nothing. The guy in our team had his first crossfit class, so complex movements like weightlifting exercises were completely new to him. He had to do thrusters and front squats without having anyone showing him how to do them!!!
I could list so much more things that are wrong about this box. Just one advice, that my previous speaker had given already:
AVOID THIS BOX!!! Spend your money in the nice cafés and restaurants or just save it, but do not waste it here. Or try one of the other boxes in Paris, hopefully those are better... read more
