5 stars isn't enough! More like 10!! Outstanding services. Great, knowledgeable doctors with the skills to adjust my problematic L5-SI joints in my low back as well as my stiff neck that fights back. I'm not an easy patient and the doctors work with me to keep me maintained, healthy and comfortable. From the doctors to the office staff everyone is very friendly and professional. Predator Practices I have visited this location a while back after I got diagnosed with a neurological disease called MS. I was in a lot of pain and had a lot of spine stiffness and was desperate for some relief so I made an appointment (first for chiropractor). When i arrived they gave me an X-Ray of my spine and pointed out areas that were compressed. They warned me that I unless I subscribed to their care plan, which was $2000 down and $5000 total, I would not get better and will need surgery later. They also suggested that this care would have me walking again by the end of the plan specifically stating a 98% improvement. Then he had a girl with a clip board ready pressuring me to sign up. It was quite intimidating and overwhelming, and something just didn't feel right. This struck a serious fear in me and had me seriously considering the option but i had to speak to my partner first, who was a PreMed student. He pointed out some serious red flags and inconsistency between the neurological issues I had and their treatment's proposed outcomes. Still wanting to be able to walk again, i consulted with my Neurologist and told them what was promised. My neurologist explained that he has a chiropractor also and is not against eastern medicine, but warned that the treatment they offered has no scientific backing and does not logically make sense in curing a progressive neurological disease. He also pointed out how strange it was that could quote a 98% improvement when no medicine or studies in the history of MS has shown that type of effectiveness. He told encouraged me to try a chiropractor, but warned against this one. I found a different location that I go to now, and told them the same story. They also agreed with my neurologist and even stated that they cannot cure my MS but can only help with my blood flow and symptoms management which is much more realistic. I appreciate my current locations honesty and want to warn those looking for relief against the fear mongering and predatory business practices of Redwood Chiropractor. read more

Dr Rogers, Dr Joel Taajtes, and now Dr Livingston, have absolutely helped my chiropractic pain over the last few years! I've had chiropractic adjustments (gentle) weekly, and relief from subluxated thoracic ribs, and also had the T wave ultrasonic- shock wave treatment on an injured knee and ankle. All of these treatments have been helpful and have helped me deal with chronic pain and be able to be more active. This office is "head and shoulders" above the others! read more

When in there for softwave therapy and they took xrays and then began to try to convince use that we needed long term chiropractic care for muscle pain (I did not agree with their assement). Then they proceeded to try an convince us purchase an expensive package that cost nearly $8000. I felt pressured and that made me mad. I recommend staying away from this place. read more

Best chiropractor we've ever been to. All the doctors are super knowledgeable, the front desk staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. Being on any healing journey can be daunting as it takes time and scheduling and commitment- but the docs at RWC are super encouraging and going for adjustments is a welcome part of my day! Can't wait to get my body healed! read more

What a place. Even after just two appointments with Dr. Taatjes and his team, I can confidently say that I'm impressed with the level of care I've received. Dr. Taatjes' expertise and the warm, welcoming atmosphere at the clinic have made a significant impact on my well-being. In these two visits, I've already experienced noticeable improvements in my condition, which speaks volumes about the effectiveness of the treatment. The receptionists have continued to be friendly and accommodating, making the scheduling process seamless. I'm looking forward to my future appointments with Dr. Taatjes and his team, and I'm confident that my health is in good hands. read more

I followed my wonderful chiropractor; Dr. Rogers here when he gave up his a private practice in Novato. I was under the impression things would stay the same. I thought Dr. Rogers would continue treating me. Unfortunately, things were different. There was now a full office full of staff, who handled all of the front office business, as well as coming into a treatment room and encouraging patients to sign a contract, which was a little much for me. Also, Dr. Rogers only treated me once. I was used to his personality, his adjustments and treatment over all. Everyone is very friendly here, and if you don't mind a big office, with open bays, and a rushed feel to your heath care, this place is good. I like more one on one and miss Dr. Rogers old way. Things change, and we move on. This is a very clean, well managed office. They stick to the plan, and trying to get patients to pay up front as well since they do not accept any insurance. read more

Good, safe chiropractic adjustments. Will set up a payment plan. Consistent thru the years.

So far so good. I have only been a couple of times but the doctors are very knowledgable, full x Ray's they walk you through everything and how you body is affecting your organs, yes it is expensive but it is so worth it not to have back surgery, as I said they are very knowledgeable, everytime I go in I am treated like family and I have noticed a significant change in my movements and pain allready. I get the impression they really care for their clients. And want them to have the best possible life I highly recomend read more

I'm surprised this place hasn't been shut down for malpractice. They have a sign out front that drop ins are welcome. Drop ins? Victims would be more accurate. They won't see patients without advance payment of thousands of dollars. I asked another chiropractor in town and was told they are well known for taking advantage of people for profit. When I said I wasn't interested in their "deal" ($2-3000 plan up front) they sent me what read as a threatening letter in an attempt to scare me into signing up for their treatment plan. My impression as a senior--and most of their clients when I was there were also seniors--is that they are manipulating a demographic of older people who are already vulnerable and fearful because they are in pain and dealing with the difficulties of aging to take financial advantage of them. It seemed to me like an example of senior abuse masquerading as health care. read more

Dr. Drew and his team are fantastic. They are a laid back creative group of people that make you feel relaxed from your entry through the door. I would not recommend Redwood chiropractic. I was there two years ago because of neck pain. Halfway through the treatments that I had paid $6000 for, one of his associates Took my neck and yanked it. I was in so much pain I had to go to the ER. We never had a scan or anything but I was in pain for several weeks after that.. recently, I had a CT on my neck and found out that at that time the doctor had slipped a disc in my neck. Be careful!!! Do your homework. read more

These people are amazing! First, I want to say that all the ladies working the front desk, booking appointments, and handling finances are incredibly efficient and friendly. I always felt welcome as soon as I stepped through the doors. As far as the Doctors are concerned, they are so knowledgeable and attentive to the patient's needs. When I first went to Redwood Chiropractic, I have a bad limp, among other issues. Within a few visits, the limp went away and never came back. I also had a decrease in migraines and low back pain. Special thanks to Dr. Rogers! I would highly recommend this company and all the Doctors. read more

I have placed my entire health's trust and well-being on the chiropractors at Redwood Chiropractic. Dr. Taatjes, Dr. Rogers and specifically Dr. Lorenzen have been a great blessing for my overall well-being. I've been seeing Dr. Lorenzen for over one year mainly for stem cell therapy and adjustments. With a combination of both of these therapies, my health had overall improved. My mood and attitude was noticeably better, my flexibility and mobility was slowly getting better. After a few months of treatment, I could notice slow improvements, so I knew the treatments were working. I decided to enroll my entire family to see the doctors at Redwood Chiropractic. Then, after one year of seeing Dr. Lorenzen, I noticed great improvements with my health, mood and attitude was great, my flexibility and mobility was better than ever before. I was extremely happy after one year of therapies. Then, I was unfortunately involved in a multiple vehicle accident. I was moderately to severely injured with many bumps and bruises throughout my entire body. The x-rays showed quite a bit of damage. So, I was now back to starting from a position, where I was much worse than ever before. Dr. Lorenzen has been seeing me from the day of my accident several times each week and I have slowly started the healing process once again, returned back to work on a part-time basis and starting to feel better about myself. I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for the doctors at Redwood Chiropractic and especially Dr. Lorenzen. Thank You for all you folks do to keep us healthy and moving forward. Nokila P. read more

I would like to tell my experience with this place today. I called yesterday to inquire about their services because i have knee pain. They told me i could come in for a free consultation. Today, when i was done with my consultation i was told i owed $49. I asked why since i was told there would be no charge. They said since the doctor used the machine on me, that i owed this money. I decided not to argue and pay the $49. This is not how you do business. I would not recommend this place. This is false advertising. read more

Tried five or six chiros for back pain... all fails. Then found this office after reading a full page ad. It took nine sessions but their treatment brought me out of pain! Dr Joel Tatjes explained that he attends monthly seminars to keep up to date. They take xrays, explain things and this all builds a trust so necessary to making a commitment to their treatment. Their work has made a huge difference in my flexibility. I highly recommend them. I was so fatigued only part time hours could be worked. After three months, my stamina returned so I could return to full time working hours! read more

I haven't received treatment yet because they require two consultation visits, which they did not tell me first! I had asked for one spinal manipulation without a long term program. "No problem!" they said. So I patiently waited through an exam and x-rays and lo' they told me to come back later so they could propose a long-term program. I wonder if they're not an actual doctor office because 1) they made me watch a super cheesy video and 2) they won't bill my insurance company. I don't have time to submit claims and I really just want an adjustment today --not three days later... To top it off, they charged me for the free consultation. No thank you! I found someone else, very helpful, happy to bill my insurance company and good at listening to me: I got a same-day one-time only appointment just as I asked. Whew. read more

Redwood chiropractic is great. The doctors are very professional and know how to recover people from their injuries. If it wasn't for Redwood chiropractic, I wouldn't be able to continue my job as a registered nurse. Through working with them, I have been able to Get adjustments that have resulted in a better quality of life. When I went to Redwood Chiropractor two years ago, I could barely walk in the office. It's ironic...I've lived with pain for so long I made it my "normal". When it finally began to interfere with the work I needed to accomplish, I took my dad's recommendation to check out Dr. Linzey. I was driving home tonight, after one week of intensive, and somewhat intimidating, treatments, when this warm thought spread through me: I feel good. Really good. Pain is "common", but I'm just learning what "normal" feels like. I did read these reviews, positive and negative, and went in fully informed, thank you Yelpers. I was nervous. And yet, I am very satisfied and thankful. It occurs to me that the negative reviews were about business practices, not on physical results of treatment. It seems that this office may have relaxed on the hard-sell approach, because I never once felt as if I was without choices. read more

My entire family is being treated by Dr. Joel and Dr. George. I personally would recommend Redwood Chiropractor for manipulation but not for spinal decompression. I have had both of these treatments here and feel they are very good at adjusting people. As far as the spinal decompression (DRX), it was very expensive, and it did not help me at all. I am still in a lot of pain from herniated discs. The only drawback about being a patient is that you have to expect to wait at every visit because the office is soooo busy. read more

As the daughter of a chiropractor and someone who has worked in chiropractic offices for five years, I tend to be picky where my chiropractors are concerned! When I moved to California, I was looking for a chiropractor to continue my lifetime of care...someone who measured up to my expectations; a doctor who truly cares about his patients as individuals-not dollar signs, a doctor who can educate his patients on the benefits of their treatment and teach them that chiropractic is good for more than just aches and pains, someone who takes time with me and listens to my health concerns and knows exactly how to "fix" them. ...Dr. Luke Phifer is that doctor!! Dr. Phifer is gentle and caring with his patients. He knows his craft, and has a true knack for finding exactly where I am hurting...even without me telling him..and alleviating my pain. As someone who has had free chiropractic care since birth, believe me when I say Dr. Phifer is worth every penny!! In fact, he is the only chiropractor that I will ever pay to see!! read more

Dr. James Rogers is one of the best chiropractors I have ever seen. I've been seeing him for 20 years for many injuries and he always helps me profoundly. He is a great listener, and excellent as diagnosing and treating me. I cannot recommend a better chiropractor, as he's the best. I drive 1 hour to see him and it's worth it. I always feel better right after he adjusts me. The office staff is very helpful, organized, courteous and extremely pleasant. The office is very clean, nice decor and very comfortable chairs with AC. read more

I am sure they have helped some people. I was discouraged on my 2nd visit when I could see that Dr. Taatjes would not even vaguely acknowledge the fact that damaged/torn muscles can cause pain. I also mentioned Dr. John Sarno who is renowned in clearing up all kinds of nonsense surrounding the issue of 'back pain' and should be a household name and also be required reading for anyone considering allopathic medicine (sorry you need to include chiropractors in this category) for anything to do with one's back or spine. I think Dr. Taatjes said "Oh yeah" when I mentioned Sarno and then he just returned to the canned pitch. The myopia was overwhelming and I was no match in my condition so we made a hasty exit and it looks like I saved over $5K that I didn't have anyway. read more

Pretty disappointed with this place. I went in about a year ago, did the whole assessment and a few appointments. Due to time served in the military, everything was in bad shape. I was deployed, and came back and was going to resume treatment. I called them to make an appointment, as well as get a copy of my records I could give to the VA as proof of my back issues. However, they had ZERO records of me ever being there, and told me that if I wanted to resume treatment, I'd have to pay to be reassessed. I was pretty shocked they don't keep records, and if they do, they had zero records of my appointments. What kind of medical establishment doesn't keep patient records? read more

I see a lot of people complaining about price, I've been to multiple chiropractors over the years and they are ALL expensive... the staff at Redwood actually worked with my financial situation and helped me tremendously. Everyone is so friendly, kind, and genuinely wants to help. I was a competitive gymnast and have landed on my head quite a few times and was also on bed rest for over a month with my daughters birth. I recently came to them with severe back and neck pain to the point where I couldn't move my head. I've been going to them for only two weeks and feel completely better and my posture has already improved. The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because it does feel a bit rushed- during busy hours. If there aren't very many people there they do take their time talking to you. read more

I first found Redwood Chiropractic years ago when I had a friend who suffered from lymes disease and her adjustments were done by Dr. Taatjes as part of her treatment. Years later I was pregnant with my daughter who was frank breech and would not turn, so I was sent by my midwife to be adjusted to try and get her to turn.To no avail. Skip to present day, there is a groupon ad for $75 for exam, x-rays, and 4 adjustments. Sounds great right? Too good to be true. I should have read the other reviews on yelp before I purchased. As I am on my feet on concrete all day and suffer from a mild case of scoliosis and cannot afford chiropractic on my own, I decided to go for it. I showed up to the office, greeted by an overly enthusiastic front office staff, and proceeded into consultation and x-rays. They made the next appointment for ASAP for adjustment and review of x-rays. At the next appointment, before even getting started I was put in a room, alone, again, to watch "informative" video about how important it is to continue your chiropractic treatment. I was then consulted by one of the office staff who presented me with a financial plan that felt much like a pitch by a used car salesman. I hope she saw the disappointment on my face. She recommended a financial plan of $5500 for the next 6 months of treatment. She recommended that I borrow money from friends or family. She recommended that I take out a "credit card" for which the payments would be "like making a car payment". Like $250 a month for chiropractic adjustments.WTF!!??? And then wanted me to show up every day for the next week. Sorry, but if I could afford a car payment I sure wouldn't be driving my 1997 volvo. If I could afford to pick up my kids and drive from Sebastopol to Petaluma every day and pay for $5500 worth of chiropractic I would not have bought a $75 groupon. If I could afford the time and energy it took to sit and eat the load of bullshit that they fed me about how my health is the most important thing therefore I should live in more poverty to be adjusted on their terms. Well, they can keep my $75. I'll go someplace else. Thanks but no thanks Redwood Chiropractic. read more

It has taken me a long time to gain the courage to write this review. Dear Dr. Rona Thau, I am writing to tell you that you have affected my life in a very negative way. I see you often around town. Every time I see you I feel a deep anxiety in the pit of my stomach. Please let me explain why. Shortly after we moved to Petaluma I started looking for a Chiropractor nearby. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do very much research before I needed a chiropractor in an emergency situation. My daughter jumped off of her bed and landed hard on her tail bone. I immediately called and asked if someone in your office was able to see us asap. You were warm and friendly and asked us to come right away. During this visit my daughter fell in love with you. You were kind and engaging. She is very shy but you made her feel safe. Because this was my first visit I asked all of the regular new client questions. Here are the questions I asked: How much will this visit cost? How much will it cost for a visit for myself? How much is a first visit with X-rays? When I told you I was very interested in seeing you on a regular bases you told me that I would pay $100 for my first evaluation. This would include X-rays and a plan based on my needs. When I asked you how much my adjustments would be you said it would "depend on your needs". I felt uncomfortable not knowing how much to expect. When I pressed you for more information you said "adjustments would be between $35 and $70". You told me several times that the price varies because of what I would need as a patient. To me that means that if my problem is minor and it is a short adjustment time it would be cheaper than someone who has a big problem that takes a longer appointment time. This first conversation made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I was concerned that I did not have a definitive answer so I would know what to expect. My family is on a very tight budget since we are a military family and we had just moved so our savings was pretty much gone. After you finished adjusting my daughter you told me that if I signed up to have the evaluation for myself you would not charge me for her adjustment that day. We went up to the front desk and you charged me $100 for an evaluation that had not happened yet for myself. As soon as I left I immediately regretted it. I paid $100 not knowing if I could even afford future adjustments. Several days later I came for my evaluation. Just like the other yelpers say you put me in a room to watch the video. You then took me in to a room to have X-rays. You were not willing to adjust me that day because you said you needed to look over the X-rays and then we could make an appointment for an adjustment. I left that day still not know how much this was going to cost! I came back for my discussion of my evaluation. Almost immediately you took me back for an adjustment. I was so stupid for not insisting you tell me what it would cost! After the adjustment you brought in a woman who was 100% a sales woman dressed like a nurse in scrubs. She informed me of your very simple sales tactics. If you pay as you go the adjustment is $70. If you pre pay for months worth of adjustment it will equal to $35 for each adjustment. SIMPLE. This has NOTHING to do with what the patient needs! This has NOTHING to do with the length of each session. It is a simple plan that you offer everyone. You lied to me! You lied you lied you lied! You made it seem like it was some random price based on the patients needs. If you had told me that unless I pre pay I would be paying $70 for a 10 minute adjustment every time I would have walked out the door immediately. In the past I have prepaid for chiropractic work with Dr. Battaligno. It worked out just fine. He was totally up front with my options before I signed up for anything. I have nothing against prepayment. In this time in my life I know that getting over $3,000 in a lump sum is not something I can do. I am not willing to take out credit because we have worked so hard to be debt free. You were warm and engaging. You were kind and sweet to my child. You were a liar. Are you a bad person? I don't know. I have worked for some terrible salons in the past. Some would require us to pressure our clients into services they didn't need and retail purchases that were not necessary. Does Redwood Chiropractic force you to scam people? Do they force you to lie? Do you enjoy this high pressure sales tactic they force you to do? If you really are a good person stuck with a terrible company I highly suggest you find another office to work in. I left your office having paid $170 for nothing. I could have used that money toward a business that would be up front and honest with me. At this point there are two things that would make me happy. A refund and news that you have moved to a more reputable chiropractic office. read more

In early February we were at the Petaluma Outlet Mall and there was a stand advertising this place. We sat down and talked for a few minutes and agreed to come in and have an appointment two weeks later. We were required to put a deposit of $50 down via check for our appointment. The very next day the receptionist called and asked if we wanted to reschedule our appointment because we had missed it. I explained the appointment was for the following Monday not that Monday. After thinking about all that could go wrong, and being worried that if they could not remember what day of the week our appointment was we probably didn't want them working on our backs we called and cancelled the appointment. Now, 60 days later to the day they have cashed our $50 check. Really great customer service!! They will cancel your appointment (the second one, you know the one that you made, not the fake one that you missed) but they are still going to cash your check. read more

I've known Dr. Taatjes and been a patient of his since I was approximately 8 years old. I'm now 35. Dr. T has always been warm and welcoming when I needed to see him for one issue or another, despite not being a regular client due to financial issues. Dr. T and his staff have always been great with me, and when I was seeing him more regularly I never felt as if I was being pushed to buy into one plan or the other, he would adjust my back and neck, tell me what I could do to address muscular inefficiencies in my training to further stabilize the problem area, etc. while he would always suggest that I come in more frequently to deal with some of my neck issues, it was never something where either he, or his staff would pressure me or sell me into doing something that wasn't what I wanted, and if I wanted to schedule a follow up, we would, and if not, we wouldn't. it was always 100% up to me. That's why I usually recommend him, and a select few others who I know from going to him, because I feel that whether it be Joel, or some of the doctors that have interned with him, they've always had my best interest at heart. read more
