I tell him I'm miserable, I can't sleep and my left shoulder is killing me. I tell him I've tried everything OTC. He gives me a med that doesn't help. I ask again and I get generic Alleve after telling him no OTC med works. Doesn't he listen? I ask again for help and I'm told that I need to go to the ER for help. WTF? What kind of patient care is that? I see this loser has 2 other negative reviews here. I used to like EFP but I'm done until they get rid of this douce.

My review is only based on seeing Dr. Caroline Conner, which is why I'm giving more than 1 star…read more At my most vulnerable I've ever been Dr. Conner was the least compassionate doctor I have ever seen. I went to EFP due to a car accident I had (which I was not at fault for). I was on the job during the accident so I had to be treated through Worker's Compensation, and the sent me there. It was serious accident where I t-boned someone going 50mph because they didn't stop at a stop sign. I had sprained my ankle, but had incredible bruising all over. She prescribed physical therapy, which I went to for a number of months. My physical therapist was incredibly helpful, EPT Rehabilitation. There were a few issues I had with her. I had pain and numbness in my right hand and arm. I asked her about it and she acted like it was no big deal. She barely acknowleged it. When I went to EPT and told them about it they said it was due to my right shoulder taking in the most impact, which damaged the nerve bundle in my neck, which connected right through the path of where my pain and numbness stared and ended. Again, I brought it up to Dr. Conner and she did nothing. Luckily the pain has subsided, but often in times of stress it itches really badly. About 6 months into treatment Dr. Conner prescribed another 3 weeks of treatment, but it took well over a month for it to be approved by WC. I had another appointment with her before it was even approved. At that time she learned I had a lawyer. Who wouldn't after an accident like that? She actually came out and accused me of only trying to get money. She said I was fine and I didn't need any more treatment. Even though I was still waiting to see the PT from the last time she prescribed it. I told her about a spot in my back that really hurt. She pushed on it really hard, told me I was fine. My back was in even more pain from her pushing on it for TWO days! It was so frustrating and still is. I still deal with a lot of back pain. I feel if I were to receive appropriate treatment I might not be in as much pain as I am. I didn't care about the money. I was only 25 and wanted my health. To this day I get migraines related to the pain in my upper back and I have sciatica that comes and goes. It's been 7 years. I would strongly advise, if you go to Eureka Family Practice to stay away from Caroline Conner, and see someone else.

I've found the Eureka location able to better schedule appointments in a reasonable timeframe. The Eureka location is part of the Providence residency program for family medicine. This means that more often than not, you'll be seen by a resident physician that is still in training. While some might consider this a drawback because they're not a "full doctor" yet, I've found residents to take an interest and convey empathy and enthusiasm in a way that my prior, attending PCPs have not. One of the downsides, however, is that when residents graduate from the program, you'll be forced to switch doctors, building mutual trust, etc. all over again. I had a tragic bike accident three years ago where I lost most of the function of my dominant hand. Even after four surgeries, my function was still highly restricted, but my physician at OpenDoor, Dr. Mchenry, crafted a holistic treatment plan including medications, topical patches, and osteopathic manipulation therapy that's allowed me to regain most of its use--I'm even back on my bike. Your mileage may vary, but I'm very grateful that our little rural community has OpenDoor.

They mention "no news is good news" regarding test results which is the first time I am hearing this from the last time I was there in 2020. I did not have a good experience getting my blood drawn last time (it was a new nurse who poked me multiple times with no success), I was referred to an outside clinic Humboldt Phlebotomy who drew my blood and then never received an update on my blood results even after I called both clinics multiple times. It was strange but oh well, I just wish they communicated a bit more last time but they seem to have improved so I have hope! It's a good affordable health clinic with a staff that truly does care for women health needs.

They were looking at the wrong patients' medical records!!! We thought it was weird when we returned to complete the 2nd twins' shots and they said he was "all caught up and didn't need any" which was weird considering they gave our 1st twin multiple shots a week before. Even scarier, I'm not sure if they even know they made the mistake. We realized it months later when we found the other little girls' medical records in our paperwork and connected the dots. The hospital staff knew what medications my family member was prescribed by their doctor and was taking before being transferred to their ICU, but they were not giving my family member their prescribed medication as they are required to do. My family member was cut off of their medications instead of tapering off which could cause stroke which they should have known working in the medical field. Putting any patient in a dangerous situation is not acceptable. My family member did survive septic shock after being in the ICU at St.Joseph Hospital which I am very thankful for. The bill they received just for the ambulance ride from the hospital in Fortuna to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka and their care for not quite 24 hours in Fortuna and part of their care at St.Joseph Hospital was a million dollars. They had not received the bill from the doctor yet as they bill seperately. Other than one nurse who was very rude and them not giving my family member their prescribed medication because they didn't think they needed to take it, they saved my family member's life. They need to work on not going by their own opinion when taking care of their patients though because that is dangerous and could potentially be fatal for the patient.

On 05/2/2022, approximately 3 months after being submitted, I was informed that The Providence St…read more Joseph's Sleep Disorder Center had received the referral. I was required to call the Sleep Study Disorder Center to schedule the study. I called several times to request an at-home study as childcare issues made it impossible for me to have an in-lab study. Several weeks went by without any call-back for the center. It was finally arranged for me to have the requested in-home study. I received that referral on 07/19/2022. I had to do two in-home studies due to equipment failure. I was informed of the results on 08/31/2022 which indicated both studied were insignificant and made it necessary for me to have an in-lab study for more accurate results. Finally, on 12/11/2023 I was again notified on MyChart that the Sleep Disorder Center had received the referral for an in-lab study. I again made several calls to the center with no call-backs. After many failed attempts to reach someone at the center to schedule the in-lab study, someone actually answered the phone. I almost fell out of my chair being so surprised to actually speak to a live person. Incredibly, I was able to schedule the appointment for 02/18/2024. I unbelievably had the study on that night. Upon arrival I was politely greeted by Mark the technician. He was friendly, professional and polite during the entire study time, which was the only positive experience during this whole ordeal. I realize some of the fault for the prolonged delay was due to my PCP and Insurance issues, however for the life of me, I cannot overlook the neglect on Providence St Joseph's Sleep Disorder Center for not returning any of my numerous calls to schedule the in-lab study. The wait time was both irresponsible and aggravating. They blamed it on being short staffed due to Covid. Hardly an acceptable excuse for waiting so long.
