    EASTSIDER pizza

This new Savoy just opened recently, even during the pandemic. They have takeout only from this location. We called in our order from home and timed it to get there when they said to. When we got there, it was a few more minutes to wait as they were very busy. The server asked if I wanted some free wings for the extra wait. I was floored as I didn't think that waiting a few minutes was any problem at all. We received the pizza and wings and went to a picnic table to eat. The pizza was absolutely wonderful. It has lasted for at least three meals. The bbq wings were good also. I have to say that Red's Savoy is definitely on our "frequent dining " list.

Disgusting pizza, rude employees, overpriced. Don't bother, there are better pizza places nearby.

Giuseppe's seems perpetually busy and the crowd starts very early. When we arrived last Saturday, there were only two tables left and one of those was a quirky half table. What makes this restaurant popular is the consistency of the food, the good service and the focus on popular old-school Italian food. All of the favorites are there and they are done well. My go-to is often the spaghetti and meatballs, which is so easy to prepare at home, but still worth going out for if the restaurant does it right. The entrees come with a soup or salad, both of which are good. On this particular visit, it was really cold outside and the Minestrone was hot, chunky, and full of fresh vegetables. They also serve (an increasingly rare) bread basket with a variety of different fresh baked breads, which are perfect for dipping into the olive oil. The chicken marsala and the frequent special of Chicken Parnassian are excellent too, as is their pasta. Pro Tip: They don't take reservations, so go as early as you can, even on a week night. They are not open on either Sunday or Monday, so factor that into your visit. They open at 4 pm and close at 8 pm, so the total open hours for the week are 20 hours!

The menu is fairly basic, but the selections did taste great. We liked the garlic bread the best, we were able to eat the whole thing with just the two of us as they are so addicting! We also enjoyed the chicken Alfredo and like the meat sauce. It is downtown parking so street parking can be limited. Service was a little slow, it did take a bit for the garlic bread to arrive. It's a small little place that you would probably miss unless you really took the time to look at the building. There were six of us, and I loved that their menu was straight forward with about 10 main dishes to choose from. I got the cheese tortellini with steak. We also got the breadsticks as appetizers and I got a side cedar salad. The breadsticks were big and fluffy and it came with red sauce, but we also asked for Alfredo sauce to dip it in. The steak on top of my tortellini was cooked great! Was probably cooked to about medium-medium rare. The Alfredo was top tier. I loved the flavor and it was very creamy. They gave you a lot too which was nice. I liked the size of the Caesar salad, not too big, and the dressing was great. I wasn't a super huge fan of the croutons because they were a rye type of bread. We tried all three desserts and they were all very good. The lava cake was my favorite. The waitress was also the hostess. She was very nice. The only thing I would say was that it was a bit odd that she was wearing leggings and a crop top. Just felt a little unprofessional seeing her belly button piercing. She did a very good job serving us though. The food was very well priced and good portions because I walked away with extras. The place was relatively quiet for a Friday night. Please go check this place out!!

Looks like they have patio dining in the summer months. We came NYE so service was a little slower but friendly. Someone was making sure our waters were filled and used plates taken away. Food was definitely freshly made. We ordered the mussels for appetizer. We chose the spicy tomato sauce and it was yummy. My husband ordered the veal Marsala and it came with choice of soup or salad and a side of pasta. Penne with red sauce was the standard or upgrade to fettuccine Alfredo. Creamy clam soup was delicious. Nice and rich. Fettuccine noodles were over cooked but the cream sauce was so good. You can taste the fresh cream. It was slightly under seasoned but nothing a little salt didn't fix. The veal was nice and tender, lots of mushrooms, and a side of steamed green beans. This dish was also slightly under seasoned. I ordered one of the specials, a pasta bolognese. Supposed to come with penne but I requested it with fettuccine. Noodles were cooked better than the Alfredo but still slightly overcooked. The bolognese sauce was so delicious. They give you bread for the table but it was dense and lacked flavor. Glass of wine, appetizer, and two entrees came out be a little under $100 before tip. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. Not a knock your socks off place but nice and cozy with freshly prepared dishes.

Spaghetti was the winner of the various foods we brought home I would definitely order that again. The Filetto had too many mushrooms and not enough beef or Gorgonzola for us. Alfredo was tasty enough, but not as good as the spaghetti. Service was good and the staff were very friendly. Ambiance is small, family, local feel. It is a small space inside so definitely suggest reservations if you're dining in.

The Rosè I had was pretty good and the Cab Sauv my date had was good too! The music was pretty loud - only on weekends I think , but when the crowds dispersed it felt more like an intimate wine bar- so I imagine during the week this would be a great place to meet up with friends and family. Did not get to try any food as we had just come from dinner but they did have some amazing smelling bread boards I would be willing to try!
