I lived here for 3 years, and unfortunately, my experience was consistently frustrating. The biggest issues were the lack of communication, poor maintenance, and management's handling of resident concerns and charges. During a bad storm, our gutter fell off and ended up laying across our outside porch. It stayed there for approximately 3 months and was only moved when new residents were getting ready to move into the surrounding houses for the new semester. We never even received a replacement gutter, and the fallen gutter damaged and broke some of my plants. Maintenance was another major problem. My ceiling fan started wobbling badly and became unsafe to use. When I reported it, I was told it wasn't an emergency and maintenance left. This was during the summer, so I contacted them again because I needed the fan. I was later told it had been fixed, but when I got home, there were random screws in my bed and the fan was still not properly fixed. After contacting them again and reporting both issues, they eventually replaced the entire fan. My roommate also had water damage on her ceiling that continued getting worse. Maintenance simply caulked the area, said it was fixed, and later tried to charge her for the damage when we moved out. The exhaust fan above our stove never worked properly either. Instead of removing the grease from the air, it essentially spread grease onto the cabinets above the stove. When we reported it, we were told it simply needed to be cleaned. We also had issues with charges while living there. After about a year, we were charged $500 for damage to a couch. However, the couch was never removed or replaced. We continued having the damaged couch in our apartment while still being charged for it. Then, during yearly inspections, they would continue trying to charge us for the same couch/damage again. It was extremely frustrating to be charged for something that they wouldn't even remove from the apartment. Management also gave us incorrect information about what paint colors we were supposed to use on our walls, which created another unnecessary issue. There were also smaller issues that showed how difficult management could be to deal with. The backyard, which was directly next to the woods, was rarely mowed, despite the obvious concern of mosquitoes and ticks. The apartment was not properly cleaned when we moved in. It was disgusting enough that we had to clean it ourselves, yet we were still expected to pay cleaning charges when we moved out. It honestly makes you wonder what the cleaning fees were supposed to cover. Another frustrating issue was that random damage fees would appear on our accounts without any explanation or communication about what they were for. Management was rarely helpful when we tried to get answers, and it often felt like nobody was available in the office when residents actually needed assistance. My frustration is primarily with management and the way maintenance requests, charges, communication, and resident concerns were handled. After living here for three years, I can honestly say that I would not recommend this apartment community. There were too many unresolved maintenance problems, unexpected charges, poor communication, and situations where issues were repeatedly reported but not properly addressed. read more

When she first moved in a garbage dump stayed there for almost a month taking up parking spots that they actually patrol. Its nasty, they have a huge trash ben sitting in front of the students apartments, trash everywhere. They towing students cars and the tow service that impound the vehicles has no compassion for the students. Students can't get in contact with the sorry ass office manager or the pitiful maintenance office for ANYTHING. They charging you for stupid shit like if you sit more than two trash bags outside your door you get charged extra. Mice and snakes have been spotted due to they wont cut the grass behind the the apartment complex. The apartments are infested with insects and Noone has seen exterminators spraying and they wont fix shit. No one is never available if you call the office. The statement "Redpoint Starkville offers the finest MSU off-campus housing experience near Mississippi State University" is LAUGHABLE. Here is my review that I left on Google Reviews: DO NOT MOVE HERE. If you look at the google reviews for this place, you will see common problems that Redpoint has ignored for YEARS. The apartments are left filthy for new tenants. The staff will ignore you. You CANNOT get through to anyone on the phone or through email. You can try to go into the office to talk to someone, but they always have an excuse as to why they cant meet with you. They will charge you insane amounts upon your moveout. We left our unit SPOTLESS, with video and photo proof (because we became aware that redpoint will unfortunately try to charge you regardless of how clean your unit is) and we got charged an ABSURD amount for "damages/cleaning fees" with "photo evidence" attached. The photos they sent as proof of the charges were false, as we have videos and photos that prove that our unit was indeed spotless. The photos they provided seemed to come from another unit entirely. This is either due to complete negligence, or attempt to lie in hopes that we never captured our own evidence. TLDR: Redpoint Starkville ignores communication attempts, has extremely poor management, fabricates false charges, and will leave apartments unclean for new tenants. They want your money and they don't care if you suffer for it. read more

I was asked by the Scion Group to email live@redpoint-starkville.com which I did. As you might guess the email bounced back as undeliverable because (1) someone's name couldn't be located, and (2) someone else's email was full. I tried calling the number on their website and got an AI person. It gave me the number to the actual apartment. I called that number and of course nobody answered. I have left messages on Redpoint's rental portal to no avail. This just confirms ten fold my negative review. They absolutely take advantage of college students who are trying to move on in life. One star review because Zero was not an option. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. They are absolutely awful with management who refuse to get in contact with you about anything that happens. In my time of living here, I was towed out of my own apartment complex unfairly with no answer from them at all, to get an explanation or reimbursement. Had to pay the entire $250 myself to get my car back. Also they now want to make me pay $1000 in damage charges for bogus stuff like cleaning my bedroom. That is turnover fees. For new tenants. Sorry that's not my problem but yours if it needs to be cleaned to perfection for your new clients. Carpets were dirty when I moved in, they'll be dirty with new clients because Y'ALL DO NOT REPLACE THEM. You simply look at them and charge. This is a big corporation, you have no reason to steal money from vulnerable college students like myself who work for their money. Do not live here and I mean that wholeheartedly. This place has been a nightmare. They charged my roommates for couches that damages should have been covered under the egregious "Pet Deposit" they charge, because a cat scratched them. It's no wonder why they have a 1 star review. Our roof has leaked THREE times in one semester, and all they do is put paint or something over the leak, and throw a fan in the room. For the amount of money we pay a month, that is RIDICULOUS. Also, at move-in they didn't give us any inspection forms to fill out before we started moving in. We emailed them pictures of our damages, and they told us it was past due. They advertise having the "biggest pool" in starkville, but when we moved in the water was GREEN, and we didn't get to use it once. I would NEVER recommend living here to anybody. read more

Roof in bedroom has leaked 3 times this semester already. They keep spraying quick seal or something on the ceiling saying that it is fixed. There has to be mold in the ceiling now as the root of the problem has never been fixed. The pool has not worked since moving in. A complete joke of an apartment complex. I have emailed management repeatedly since Aug 2, 2024 about contesting excess move-out charges and have not heard anything back. BE AWARE of move-out charges that are ridiculous. We were charged $688 for essentially normal wear and tear of an apartment (paint and carpet cleaning). I continue to get notices and threats of collections should we not pay. I have followed the suggested protocol on how to handle the concerns but never get any traction and all the emails get bounced back now. We have called and get sent to voice mail. Roommates are also facing the same issues. This was a decent place to live (although overall the complex needs some major TLC), but the lack of accountability from management is extremely frustrating. If you get a reply, you will be told, "we are sorry to hear your concerns, if you have other issues please email live@redpoint-starkville.com, but that is the same email address that gets a bounce back, so you are trapped and have no way of rectifying any issues. read more

I am currently renting here at Redpoint and my car (along with AT LEAST 22 OTHERS) got broken into yesterday morning. Our vehicles had their driver side windows smashed and all of the valuables stolen. So far, all I have heard from anyone who works here is that they had no control over whoever broke their gates (which they neglected to notify anyone about) and that they couldn't help the fact that some people from Corinth decided to come break into people's cars. Firstly, they should have notified everyone about the gates being broken BEFORE signing contracts. Secondly, they should have put in a curfew so they could manually close and lock the gates at night. Thirdly, the workers claim that they have no clue what to do or how to handle the situation and are telling me that their boss will not be back for another week (conveniently) due to having Covid. All of this smells like it came from the backside of a horse, and I wouldn't rent here again if it was the last place on Earth. read more

I am very dissatisfied with my living experience this past year as many amenities were not as advertised or unavailable, and communication with maintenance and office staff was repeatedly difficult and dishonest, maintenance requests were not taken care of in an appropriate time frame or manner. As far as I am concerned rent went up and the quality of life went down. I was charged rent when it was outlined in my initial lease that I had deferred rent and when I tried to reverse the charge I was told it could not be done. This is a clear illustration that property management was not clear on the terms outlined in my lease. When I moved out I was charged close to $600 in damages, but no one would provide an itemized list of damages or photo evidence of them. Phone calls were not answered, and no one would respond to emails. My roommates and I were told that the property manager was out of the country and could not be contacted to resolve this matter, but when I went to the office she was there and refused to help settle the matter. I absolutely do not recommend Redpoint to anyone I encounter looking for an apartment. They are dishonest and do not care about their residents, only how much money they can make. read more

this apartment complex is a joke! they do nothing but trump up charges when you move out, and they do not contact you when you have a complaint! their staff is such a joke as well. the general managers are never available, and the flunkies they hire to answer the phone at times (most of the time, you get the automated service) cannot assist you with anything but to give you the response "our general manager is not available at the time" or "our complaint department is being inundated with emails and will respond back to you when convenient." if you're thinking of renting an apartment here, don't, unless you want to be taken advantage of and lose money in the process! i love how they try to appease current and former tenants with nothing but lies! hire an attorney because you'll need one when your son/daughter move out! redpoint and it's owners only care about two things...themselves and money! also, wait until your car gets towed or your car is broken into!! they don't give 2 hoots about it!! move to a better complex!! read more
