I brought three vehicles to this shop. They gouge you on the bill. They don't test the cars had to bring two cars back!! Only drove six miles from their shop and the code and the switch they put on did not work correctl. They charged me over $1,100.00 for work that did not fix the two codes that I brought the 2004 Jeep in for (P0172 and P0 175). They are no more than a throw a part at it to see if that works and if it's a part that would cost them more time to remove it they just bill you. I work on five cars myself that are in my possession and I do a better job than these techs do!!. They charge you as though you walk into an attorney's office and discuss what is wrong with the car UNBELIEVABLE I just hope this review is looked over very carefully! I am a retired Master Copier Technician that worked on high end Canon and Oce' brands. I am also a Christian and I would only tell the truth, so please take into account what l've said here!! read more

Redmond has serviced my VW Jetta here for at least three years and I've never had a bad experience. They've done oil changes, replaced lights and windshield wipers, and fixed my water pump system for hundreds less than others quoted. Cody & the Redmond's team offer fair, personable service that is hard to find anywhere else! They keep me updated on everything and get my car back in a timely manner. I just wanted to share an experience I had with a local mechanic . my son had an issue with his brakes and they were literally going down to the floor. I was very worried. My husband contacted Redman's auto and they took very good care of my son . They were personal, professional and got him in quickly. They were very fair with the price as well! The never ending question... Who knows of a good mechanic? I do! Redmond's Auto is amazing. The couple that run Redmond's is so nice. I recently had a problem and they let me have the car towed in and looked at it. The "real" fix for the car was going to be $800 which I couldn't swing right now but they cleaned the parts out and that will hold as a temp fix until I could save up. The quote they gave me seems reasonable and the labor costs always seem lower than other places. They are also honest about what needs to be replaced or worked on immediately vs. what could wait. I don't know them that well as I've only taken my car to them twice but I trust them. When I do have issues with my car there is no where else I'd rather take it! Love this place. They do great work at very reasonable prices (considering especially they're in downtown Columbia). I live not far away and have been taking my cars here for a few years now. They don't try to sell you on stuff you don't need--just straight to the point and won't charge you an arm and a leg. Can't ask for much more than that. This has to be the most friendly shop in town. The mechanics were very honest, and the prices are reasonable. Though I didn't ask for it, they called me with a quote for service before they did any work. When the parts I needed weren't available, they had them delivered so that I could get on the road before the holidays. They also gave me a call the moment my car was finished rather than making me stop by to check on it before they closed (as so many other shops tend to do!). Instead of just telling me what was wrong with my car, they took the time to show me exactly what the problem was. The only think I'll say is that this place seems a bit old fashioned. They might not have all the bells and whistles and fancy computer read-outs of the larger shops, but they seemed to genuinely care about my car. I would recommend Redmond's over any other shop I've been to in town, and I will bring my car here again without hesitation. read more
