Everything has been amazing here at The Discovery Center! Our daughter has been going for nearly a…read moreyear and a half and still gets excited to go to school each day and talks about her friends and teachers all the time at home. The homemade meals have been a great way to introduce her to foods we might not make at home, and the staff has done a great job with providing alternative food options when needed to work around our daughter's allergies. Our daughter had a reaction at home to soy and it turned out to be an allergy to all legumes. While we were figuring this out the Discovery Center staff went above and beyond and had a list of safe foods and a list of foods she couldn't have that we would update to ensure they were avoiding all potential allergens as we figured this out. This made us feel safe sending her to school during a more uncertain time. They still go above and beyond to avoid her allergies and provide other food options. Our experience potty training our daughter before she was two years old would not have been possible without the help and support of the staff. They helped take her to the toilet often and continued to help potty train her while at school. There's a great balance of education, play, and outdoor time. We can tell she is learning a lot and we know she is having a ton of fun too. Our daughter will come home and suddenly start counting to numbers we haven't even tried to teach her or sing new songs! Our daughter is insanely shy around new people, she still is scared of some grandparents. But she is very comfortable with everyone at The Discovery Center, I couldn't imagine sending her somewhere else. The classroom and daycare size is a perfect middle ground where there are plenty of kids our daughter's age, but it still has a more intimate feel where everyone knows each other. The whole place has a great "family" vibe where all the parents will pitch in. There was a time when they were remodeling the outside play area and they asked if some parents could volunteer to help put together some structures on a Saturday. It felt like nearly every dad showed up to help get these structures built and the owners provided us all a home cooked lunch for coming together and helping out. Speaking of remodeling the outside, since we started at The Discovery Center the entire center has had so many improvements. From new play structures outside, to a new outdoor infant area, to a full remodel inside. It's been fun to see this place grow and improve over the year and a half we've been sending our daughter to school. The Discovery Center has been a great daycare for our daughter, has been flexible and helpful for our needs, and we will be bringing our newest daughter to the same school here soon!

this is an update from my previous review. Unfortunately, Discovery Center turned their back on us…read morewhen we most needed. 2 weeks before our start date, my spouse was laid off and we needed subsidy to pay part of the tuition. We let them know and they immediately changed their minds about our enrollment. They said: "Either pay full price without the subsidy or we will not accept your kid". On their end, the money they receive is the same - the only issue is they had to report the paperwork and taxes related to it. School in their response claims my kids have never been part of the school: As mentioned in my original review, it is because they decided not to enroll our kids TWO WEEKS before we started. This is the whole point why we wrote the review.

I made lots of life long friends and memories! We started the quest for a preschool when my twin sons were 4. My three non-negotiables I was…read morelooking for were: 1. Play-based. I wanted my sons to learn how to play well with others within a loose structure. 2. Community-driven. I wanted to experience a group of "real" parents, who can appreciate (and at times commiserate) all the highs and lows of parenting. 3. Affordable. As a single-income family at the time, we needed something that we could both afford and met our standards. (My husband and I are both educators.) Kirkland Co-Op Preschool both met and exceeded our expectations. But the thing that has probably surprised us the most is the families and friends we've met along the way. My husband and I have expanded our "tribe" to include many of the families we've met at KCP, I'm so glad we made the choice to join. Our sons have been nurtured by not only the teachers at KCP, but also by the parents. The parent involvement piece is a big commitment, but our kids have benefited immensely from it. And I have been able to witness their growth in the classroom the whole time. It's been a really precious experience. Our twins are going to kindergarten this fall, but our youngest is going into Group II this year. If you're looking for a place for your family to find true community this is the place for you! I highly recommend it.

I can't say enough good things about Arrowhead Inglemoor Preschool. As an educator myself, I have…read morepretty high expectations when it comes to my child's education. The staff here are incredible and genuinely care about each individual student. They know the families and take time to ensure that each child feels welcome, a sense of belonging, and that they are valued members of the school. All year I have felt as though the staff have wrapped their arms around our entire family, including grandparents who regularly pick up my child. Educationally, my child is well prepared for kindergarten and he has showed excitement about his learning. From weaving in daily routines that mimic that of a kindergarten classroom, teaching, foundational reading skills and math concepts, they create a learning space that is highly engaging and prepares children for elementary school. My kid was eager to share all that he was learning and proud of the work he brought home each day. Perhaps the greatest indicator of a successful preschool year was that my son regularly wanted to go to school. He showed disappointment on the weekend or when he didn't have an extended lunch buddy day. The fact that he loved school and his teachers were proof enough that this is an incredible school. This preschool has a true community feel and I couldn't be happier about the warm environment that my child spent a year in. I wish I had found this gem sooner and can't wait to have my youngest go there as soon as he is able to.

Prior to AIP I had my children in a co-op, but with more kids it was challenging to work in the classroom. My first draw to AIP with 3 kids 3 and under was that they have DRIVE THRU drop-off and pick-up, so I didn't need to get my other two kids out of the car. Now that my older 3 are in elementary I don't need this as much, but it still can be a great option (especially if I'm running 5-10 minutes late!) They have a lot of great enrichments across the year (these vary depending on what class you're in) field trips: pumpkin farm, farm, Kirkland Storybook Theater, Children's Museum, fire station, pond, as well as lots of incursions: bunnies, reptile man or lady, police officer, fire fighters, dentist and then of course mommy and muffins, daddy and donuts, Valentine, Easter, and harvest parties as well as an end-of year carnival in 4s and 5s classes. They also have a Christmas and end of year program. Note, this program only runs through May, this surprised me the first couple years, but they have offered a 2-3 week "summer camp" extention into June for those who want a longer year. My two oldest boys and my youngest will attend the 5s class which is a great option for children that need an extra year before kindergarten or are on the older end. They have a great balance of educational curriculum which addresses kindergarten readiness through zoophonics, writing their name, numbers and colors (again, based on age), daily art and lots of play (rotation of toys and sensory activities). They will meet with you in January to let you know how your student is doing, but they are very responsive if you have a concern or want to know more sooner. They either go outside or set up indoor movement play activity, this isn't an outdoor preschool so if it's a rainy day they won't necessarily go outside. They regularly post photos to their private Facebook group so you can see what's going on inside of the classroom. We love Arrowhead Inglemoor Preschool, it is has been a great fit for our family! Note: This is a preschool that runs out of Epiphany Lutheran Church and they will sing Christmas songs, and go to chapel once a month and learn a Bible story. If that is something that bothers you, this probably isn't the right preschool for you!

Alinne cooks amazing and healthy food from scratch every day that my son just loves. They do daily educational activities that have really furthered my son's learning and have helped him prepare for kindergarten. Alinne is so creative with all of her activities and my son brings home a ton of awesome crafts at the end of each week. In the summer they do water activities outside such as a slip and slide and water balloons. My son has had an absolute blast and made so many friends. We will really miss Love, Laugh and Learn now that he is going to kindergarten!

I'm so impress how they handle to make it feel like a home, a family. I was reluctant at the beginning to a home daycare but can't be happier with the decision, my little one - who used to be full day with me for 18 months- loves this place and hardly never wants to leave. The facility is always extra clean, the food is home-made daily, there is a low ratio of kid/teachers, it's bilingual, flexible with the hours to pick up and drop off and an amazing backyard for outdoor time. The teachers (and owner) are wonderful, they come up always with some fun idea for theme days, they plan field trips (to the farm!!) and they even celebrate each kids birthday! It's a safe and loving environment for kids, can't recommend it enough. If you are looking for a place where your child feels at home and have a blast, this is it.

In some ways we wish we would have kept her in through the primary grade. Our experience was so positive. She needed extra care and nurturing in the infant room. She just wasn't the kind of baby you could easily hand off to others, but the teachers in the infant room held her constantly and really went out of their way to help her to settle in. They would even hold her while she slept which was amazing. She progressed through each class really well thanks to the care, kindness, expertise and nurturing of the teachers. What we really loved was that they could accommodate the individual needs of our child in a way that helped her to make friends, while growing her skills and confidence. The focus on, kindness, life-skills and academics is perfect. Now that we've moved on to a public school we truly see the value of the school. Our daughter is reading more than a grade level above her class and doing math that is a grade level ahead of her class. She is testing higher in nearly every academic area than her peers. We feel we owe much of this to the work of the countryside teachers who were so dedicated to her. We recommend Countryside to any friends looking for schools.

I have so many positive things to say. I looked for a long time and visited, interviewed and…read moreconsidered many options before selecting this academy. The curriculum is advanced and individualized to a degree you won't get in public school. The staff takes time to ensure all children are taught how to learn, learn, and (most importantly) to enjoy learning and staying curious. I won't say more about the academics, you can look up how great they are online. But I will say they don't break kids like other aggressive academic private schools, they make them love learning. The nutrition is top notch. They feed them "home cooked" healthy organic meals 4-6 times a day. Allergies accounted for. No cakes or sweets allowed and each child gets a classroom bday celebration. Arts are built into the curriculum: culinary arts, painting, music and dance with performances, gymnastics and you even get a speech therapist. Kids are with two teachers: English speaking and Russian speaking. This was a major deal for me in terms of importance. The school is high in security and cleanliness. I know my kids are safe and I get photo updates of their time here. The school doesn't teach religion, politics, or gender stuff. That stays with the parents. I love this. It's one of the main reasons I'm here. But they are still teaching kindness, diversity and are strict on anti bullying. The school has hundreds of options for after school programs and care inclusive of science, robotics, musical instruments etc. But most importantly... I love the people. Everyone knows my kids from the daycare to the administration to the cooks to the director of the school. It feels like a warm and safe home. My kids feel comfortable and safe. They are welcomed with kindness. And I feel like they really care. The director of the school called me on the phone to tell me about my son's Iowa test and how she was concerned that someone as smart as him wasn't trying harder to take it. That level of care is so impressive to me. Hands down one of the best decisions I've made for my kids coming here. It is expensive! But very comparable to other private schools in the area. Only thing I can say is I wish the big school events (like graduation and festivals) were a bit more seamlessly organized.

From the moment we walked in, the administration did not seem welcoming or friendly. The communication felt rude and uncomfortable, and instead of making us feel welcome and explaining the school, we were immediately met with many questions in a manner that made us feel uncomfortable. The school itself looks beautiful and attractive from the outside, which is why we were interested in learning more about it. However, the attitude of the administration left us with a very negative first impression. For parents, the way you are welcomed and treated from the very first moment says a lot. Unfortunately, after this experience, we did not feel comfortable considering this school for our child.
