I've been doing business with Steve for over 30 years now. As a matter of fact, he's done all of my tree work and I have found him to do great work at a reasonable price. I presume that because he is so busy that I've had to wait for him to service my trees. He's always been worth bothering wait. After the last big storm, my neighborhood was particularly damaged by the falling trees. One of my neighbors was hit by two very large trees. They called Steve at 5:00 am and Steve was there with his crew getting the majority of the damage taken care of that morning I had two trees that were leaning badly but posed no real threat to my property or my neighbors Steve told me that I would have to be patient but a lot of properties were in worse condition than mine and I had to wait about three weeks for him to be able get to me. We had another storm a two weeks later that brought down some limbs and I was concerned about damage to my home and my neighbors. I didn't have to wait to call. Steve anticipated my call because he was there the next morning. What a relief! Damage control is a big part of the tree business and I know how difficult it must be to manage it. I know that it may be hard to appreciate for some folks what aren't used to waiting fo service. I can't say how glad to have Steve in my address book. read more

I have used Redmiles services services several times in the past when David Redmiles was running the business. He always offered a great service. Recently I asked Redmiles tree services to trim some of the trees around my house. Came to find out David is not around anymore. All I can say the service was not the same. The job was not completed on the first day. Workers did not clean the area before they left. I gave the young guy who was running the job a check. When I had a chance to inspect the work I was not satisfied. Call ed my bank and stop the payment. I called the company and asked them to come back and finish the job. They came back next day and finished the job but still did not clean the area as David used to do and any other contractor will do. As a mater of fact the young guy argued with me and gave me variety of excuses, why they can not clean. This experience cost me the fee for their service, fee for stopping the payment with the bank and another $200 for someone to spend several hours to clean the mess. In addition they damaged and destroyed some of the plants and ground covers in the back yard. I guess you can say my experience with this company was less than pleasant and very costly. This company came recommended from other people in my neighborhood. The owner, Steve, came out and gave me an estimate on May 8th this year. Estimate was good, we agreed to hire him, sent back the required signed estimate and they literally have never come back to do the job. Today is August 25th. I have repeatedly contacted the company by phone and e-mail and they keep telling me I'm "on the schedule, but can't give me solid date." "We have many other jobs that, unfortunately are taking precedent." That's code for 'We're not making enough money on your little tree removal, so we don't want to come back and don't have the b*!!s to tell you that.' I cannot describe how incredibly frustrating this is. The tree in need of removal is over 40 years old, over 50 feet tall and is dropping giant limbs in my yard near my pets, but it's not important enough for them to do anything about. Steve & Chris have the experience & the equipment to do any job the right way. It's a small company, but that allows them to give personal service. In a tight space, you can be sure that they aren't going to drop a tree on your house or your neighbor's. They even do a good job of picking up the scraps before they leave. Me. Redmiles and his son-in-law have been taking care of the trees in my yard for over 30 years. They are efiicient and really know what they're doing. They'll do what they can to save a tree and will tell you when it has to go. During Tropical Storm Lee this past year in 2011, Mr. Redmiles called to say that a neighbor's tree that he had looked at s few days before would come down in the next storm, and sure enough, it did the next day. (He was worried about it hitting somebody's property.) While he may not always come in at the lowest price, you're paying for quality service + they clean up afterwards like nothing had even been done. HIGHLY reccommend them! read more
