Since day 1 of training at Reding Martial Arts, the instructors have been not only welcoming and kind, but also very knowledgeable and eager to teach. The Reding brothers are both world class competitors and champions (both with almost 20 years of martial arts experience) and give nothing but the best to their students. I've been with RMA since 2007 and have never had a complaint. Great instruction and they bring in world-renowned experts on a regular basis - and the seminars are ridiculously cheap. No idea what went wrong with that Mike guy but Mark has never been anything but helpful and accommodating. The contract does not require extra billing after you quit - it just requires that you give three months' notice. If he kept getting billed, it's probably because he didn't communicate as well as he claims. Who allows an invalid bill to keep being withdrawn every month for over a year anyway? Most gyms require you to sign a 1-2 year contract, hit you with high-pressure sales and complex pricing plans, and then make you buy gear at inflated prices. None of that here. Mark's running a business and imho he picked the most reasonable way of balancing our freedom to quit with his need for somewhat reliable income. Also, the place is open six days a week with tons of lessons and open gym time. You'll never find a place that offers more potential training time for your money, especially not with such excellent quality of instruction. read more

I have been training with Mark for nearly a year now. I have never met anyone as dedicated to the art as him. His passion for bettering his own understanding and the understandings of his students is unparallelled. He seeks more than impermanent monetary gains, but devotes himself completely to his trade on all levels. I have known both Mark and Nick on a professional and personel level for over ten years now. There character is displayed in their passion for the martial artist and what they bring to there students. Both of these guys have traveled all over and trained with some of the best in the world and competed in the best tournements there are!! With that said, I am also a Martial Arts School Owner that utilizes direct billing. My company is the same way, when you cancel, the student is to contact the company. We utilize a 30 day cancellation notice. Once the student/member contacts the company, they get a cancellation code which the student emails back to the company to confirm. It is that easy!! Mike R. maybe should have asked more questions if it is not clear. To allow it to go on for a year is your fault!!! I've been training with the Reding Brothers for many years. Their modesty and work ethic is inspiring and the talent at the school is strong. If you are a beginner or experienced, everyone is more than welcoming to you and respectful. The brothers continue to train with the best which in turns helps as grow and learn new techniques daily, it's awesome. We are family there and all is welcomed, as long as you don't have a negative attitude. As far as the previous review, Mark is upfront and you sign a contract when you join. I've been with the gym for over 3 years now and my only complaint is that I can't spend MORE time there every week. During my time as a student our facilities have been upgraded beautifully, membership has grown steadily, and the quality of instruction has been top-notch every step of the way. My training at RMA changed me from an unathletic person, to a competitor at the Pan-American Jiu Jitsu Championship tournament in Los Angeles. The monthly fees are highly competitive with other high quality martial arts gyms, and the owners are flexible to your scheduling needs. My Brother and I have trained at Reding Martial Arts for four years now. In that time I have made some of the best friends i have ever had, to include Mark and Nick Reding. I am a paraplegic and Mark and Nick have modified the art of American Kenpo so that I could do legitimate training in a martial art. They accept everyone and we are proud to train with such a diverse and dedicated group of people. As for the EFT issue, I would encourage Mike R. to look at his bank statement, call the number and tell the EFT company that he was no longer training with us. I have been a member of Reding Martial Arts for 6 months and have loved every minute!! As a woman, I was very nervous to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as it is a close contact sport, but Mark, Nick, and the entire RMA family has gone out of there way to make me feel welcome and valued. Shortly after joining, about 2 weeks, I realized that I was pregnant. I thought my training days were over, but Mark has modified my workouts so that I can still train in Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Kenpo :-) The gym also offers an amazing Pilates class that will truly kick your butt into shape! Mark and Nick are amazing instructors and excellent guys. I trained at RMA for over three years before I moved away from the area. Over the years I've observed their Kenpo classes, their kids classes, and spent a lot of time with them. You can't find better martial arts instruction, especially in BJJ. Mark does have an EFT clause in the contract, but the terms are very clearly spelled out. Read what you sign and know your rights. Mark a great guy, and everything he does is above board.
