Redfields is a large garden centre in Church Crookham, just south of Fleet. Like many garden centres, it has now become something of a "destination", with a restaurant, cafe, and large retail area selling everything from gifts (a huge range of specialist edible goodies), through homewares, children's gifts, books, stationery and women's fashions. It's a great place to browse, and the quality and range of plants and other gardening items is excellent, though they are not always the cheapest. But in my view, when it comes to plants, you get what you pay for. It's excellent for gift purchases - Christmas, Mother's Day, etc. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The cafe is nice - a good range of cakes for afternoon tea - but it is often busy, and can get quite noisy. Service can slow up when it gets really busy but we have never had a problem. One area is given over as a young children's play area, so if you don't like the sound of children playing, be aware. The centre has level access throughout to the retail area, and a large car park at the front, although this can also get very busy. read more

Love visiting this garden centre, especially now it's received a much needed face lift. It's light, bright and airy. There's a wide selection of plants and garden equipment, as well as an array of stuff you could buy for the home. My favourite thing about this place (other than their Christmas time decorations and displays) is the cafe on the ground floor. They make amazing cakes all in-house, which always look enticingly delicious and as I have no will power I can vouch for their scrumptiousness. There's plenty of comfy seating so there's always somewhere to sit regardless of whether you're there with a large or small group. read more

Lovely garden centre but overpriced, had lunch today in the cafe, ordered brie and cranberry baguette that only had 2 small slices of brie for £8 and sweet chilli wrap with 2 salads which was a good size but the sweet chilli tasted of cheesy chicken, so size price and taste very dissapointing, will come again but only for a cuppa and sit and people watch read more

Now owned by a larger group - Blue Diamond, so it is well stocked and well displayed. The restaurant is very professional and very popular. Only wish it had wifi! read more

Great garden centre but a bit pricey. There is a great Christmas display at the moment. The cafe is very good, quick service, good staff and lovely food. Lots of parking. read more

My friend lives in Church Crookham so everytime I go down to see her I usually end up in Redfields garden centre - I don't even have a garden! It's one of those garden centres that is just great to look around for nick nacks and household items as well as gardening stuff. At Christmas it is fantastic for decorations and I have bought many slightly more unusual but not expensive decorations here. THe best thing I ever bought was a massive silver coloured vase that was about £4. Everyone admires it and I have never seen anything like it anywhere else. The plant section is large and well stocked - although I don't have a garden myself I have often helped my friend to choose some plants and lugged compost and rockery stones with her back to her house. It is not particularly cheap for plants but they are well looked after and the chilli plant I bought last year for my window sill produced a lot of chilli's for the 49p it cost as a seedling. read more

Used to be a unique Garden Centre which sold highly individual items but now much more same old, same old. Average enough but nothing special. Poor selection of Garden Pots or Water Features plus very unfriendly Plant staff almost fearful of approaching them! read more

Garden centre OK - as noted is now owned by a larger group so a bit faceless. However the cafe deserves a particular mention and not in a good way. In the past this was a lovely cafe and very popular. I've had many a lovely coffee in the past. However on a recent visit the selection was poor for children's food, sandwiches we purchased were soggy one side and stale the other, staff were grumpy and unhelpful and overcharged. Even when queried and reduced about £4 due to an error on their part, the food still came out expensive. I'll be crossing this off the list of places we visit in future. read more

just visited the new garden centre at Redfields. Only half the outdoor plant space of old one. Very, very bad accoustics in poorly organised and already 'dated' looking restaurant. Terrible queuing system for paying food bill and even worse system to pay on the way out - waited at till for 8 minutes whilst a girl 'runner' had to check vouchers and prices. Till really slow and cashier even slower. the garden centre seemed to be going to offer so much as we watched it being built but it has NOT delivered. Thank goodness we are blessed with other decent garden centres within 5 miles of Redfields. We will not visit again. read more

Restaurant is a shambles. Many different counters with no notices regarding paying. Finally found where to buy drinks. Very small counter where we were asked to move along because it took the assistant ten minutes to make a tea and a coffee. Told to pay at the till but not told where the till was. Beautifully furnished restaurant but needs to be organised much better and as soon as possible. Won't be going back read more

We arrived at Redfield this morning at 9 am to have breakfast with my daughter who was visiting from London. WE drove 18 miles to get there as we do like it. When we got there a sign told us that the card machines weren't working so we drove into Fleet and found a cash machine. On returning, we found that it was ONLY the card machine at one desk that wasn't working. This was not at all clear on the sign. A couple next to us told us that this machine was known to be out of order. When the breakfast came the plates were hot but the eggs benedict was just warm and the supposed Crumpet was hard and very small. My daughter did not eat the Crumpet due to the toughness of it. I also do not understand why the coffees are not generous in the amount served. In the States, they serve more coffee no charge once a cup is paid for......Further, we debated on the supposed 'American' pancakes but due to the last time we tried the supposed AMERICAN pancakes, we decided to opt for the eggs. I think someone needs to look at an IHOP website to see what American pancakes are really like. I tried to find the customer services on the REdfields website but to no avail read more
