I have now eaten here at lunchtime - when the place functions as a "normal" cafe, and dinnertime, when the place functions as a (BYOB) thai restaurant. The lunch food was surprisingly good for the price - there is a real chef here and though it is simple cafe food it is really well done. The evening thai food (served only Thurs-Sat but worth a trip) though is revelatory. The starters we tried (satay, thai scotch egg, fishcakes, spring roll) were delicious, slightly British takes on Thai classics, save the scotch egg, which was a slightly Thai take on a British classic, and was awesome. The main courses I tried (Thai Green Chicken curry and Lamb Massaman Curry) were PERFECTLY flavoured, this chef knows how to balance Thai flavours properly and with finesse, and the meats were perfectly cooked as well. Really Excellent. read more
