We've used Redeux's consignment sales services several times over the last "five-ish" years. Our experiences have always been very good ones. BOTTOM LINE From my perch, Redeux provides a convenient way to sell furniture and home goods for a seller and for a buyer who has the skill to shop from resale stores, a good shopping experience is had as well. As very nice add on, the people are Redeux have been very friendly, professional, and easy to do business with. QUICK SALES & GOOD PRICE FOR CONSIGNED ITEMS We've taken Redeux things ranging case goods from large retailers (Crate and arrel) like accent tables, to night tables from mid range furniture companies (Lexington) to area rugs from home goods specialty stores (Pottery Barn) to bench made, authentic antique reproduction chairs from a New England based high end manufacturer (D.R.Dimes) and in every case, they've sold our goods at a price with which we've been pleased. And in all but one of these cases, the chairs which we knew would have a much more limited audience in Central Oregon, the sale took place well within 30 days. WELL MANAGED & MAINTAINED STORE Redeux does the advertising for the biz, they operate the store, they complete the transaction for the sale of our consigned furniture or home goods an they give us a check, minus their reasonable consignment fee. The benefits to us as many - no need to pay to place an ad in the paper trying to target the right buyer, no need to have people coming to your home to look at things, no need to be involved in the (necessary) "will you take this" price negotiating. The owner, Nancy Glasser, has professional experience as an interior designer and it shows in how she merchandises the store. Attractively laid out for shoppers, including most aisle ways wide enough to provide "browsing room" for all shoppers including buyers using wheelchairs too, and kept spotlessly clean. I've never developed the knack for re-sale store shopping, but if I had that bent, this is a store I'd frequent. In fact, I learned of Redeux first from an interior designer who said she often went in there to look for specific "this or that". I am an 81 year old woman. My daughter bought what was supposed to be an original Knoll couch. We wanted this couch because my husband was an architect and always specified this design and since his passing it was extremely important to have this as a reminder of him. When my daughter mentioned that the couch upon delivery did not look like a real Knoll she asked for a certificate of authenticity.The couch was not in the good condition that was told to my daughter when sold. The owner became belligerent and did not do anything to solve this problem. We paid a lot for a couch that was not a Knoll couch. I would like to return it and get my money back. Read the contract carefully. I called every week to check on my furniture pieces and one day I was just told that I didn't have anything consigned anymore. They took possession of my furniture. They sold a table and chairs for less than was agreed upon and were not kind to me when confronted. Not an honest outfit. Such a shame, so many people use them. read more

I had a sofa on consignment here for about three months. Every step was fumbled - pick up date, our name on the invoice was wrong, the actual price it sold for, when it sold, etc. We called once and were told the sofa was still there, price not reduced, called back again and was told that the sofa sold (before the first phone call) WITH a price reduction. Needless to say, it was a difficult process. The reason I am giving then 4* is how it was handled once Nancy (the owner) found out what happened. She was so incredibly gracious, and didn't make a single excuse. She apologized and had a check for me on the spot once she found out what happened. A lot of businesses mess things up, but it's how they handle it that matters. Because of Nancy's response, I would consider going back to use them again. I understand there have been some changes in staff and wish her luck on getting things back on track again. read more

I think this place is great. I don't really understand the bad reviews, they mostly just seem to be from people trying to sell/consign furniture and not regular shoppers. First off, this place is huge with a ton of inventory. There's a lot to pick through. I would, personally, find this place a little overwhelming without something in mind I was searching for. But some people are better browsers than me. In terms of the quality of the inventory, I wouldn't call this high end by any means (IMO). Don't get me wrong I'm sure there are some nice gems in there. I thought it was a mix of stuff I'd maybe put it my home and maybe stuff best suited for a vacation rental in Sunriver. But hey it's Bend! ------ edit: apparently there's an auxiliary store across the street that has the higher end stuff. I wanna check out one day! I found the staff to be very helpful and nice. When I picked out a reasonably pieced of furniture I wanted, they kindly held it for me until I could get a larger vehicle for transport. They do offer in town transport though. Anyways I think it's fun place and definitely worth a visit if you're furniture shopping! Even if you're not you may find something. read more

We LOVE this shop. I just bought three antique boxes for a friend who collects them in Alaska. We've bought unique lamps for rooms that are beautiful and one of a kind! We spend a couple hours every time we visit Redeux. We really enjoy the store and the wonderful staff. It's beautifully spread out with tons of furniture and unique items. I loved this store when I furnished my apartment two years ago. Today I was looking for a few pieces for my new house, and I was shocked by the prices. No value these days, just prices like new. Used wool 5x8 carpets with wear & fade on "sale" for $220. I needed a simple 4 person kitchen table, but all the styles were "old school" (what I grew up with in the 70s & 80s, and I'm trying to get away from), but over $400. I WANT to recycle & reuse, but not at prices like new. read more

I have bought and sold many items a Redux with good results...Except for recent transaction. A dining room table that did not sell was returned without two leaves and protective felt top covers. No offer of compensation since the agreement didn't call these accessories. Advice: write down every item in detail! Very disappointed with this business. read more

It appears as though many of the reviewers are having similar experiences on all the review sites. Also looks like there is an excuse or a manager trying to poorly defend her store of "fine and luxurious" furniture that we can find at a garage sale or craigslist anywhere in town. My recommendation is to take the reviews more seriously and maybe make some changes to have returning customers or first timers with something positive to say. This is a mixed review, four years ago, we bought an Ethan Allen couch, lovely, like brand new, we loved it. We had to move and downsize, and sorry to say the couch wouldnt fit in our apartment. I called Reduex, to have the sofa reconsigned. To my surprise, i was told no, they did not want it as it was to old now. This couch still looked brand new., it did not matter. The response disappointed me, it was just hasty and rude. Needless to say, i wont go back to look for items there again, they want to sell, but not help to resell evidently. read more

The owner, Nancy, read my review and called me because obviously I wasn't happy with my experience. She assured me that the bed was sold on January 25 and not earlier. Someone messaged me on Yelp to confirm that he bought the bed on January 25. I have no way of verifying or denying this claim, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I'll accept that the bed was sold on that date. This means that my bed sat in a corner for almost three months. When I went to the store in November looking for it, I couldn't find it AND the saleslady told me they didn't have such a bed. So, I think I can at least say that had I been wanting to buy the bed in November, the saleslady would have lost that sale because she didn't even know the bed was there. That's very poor marketing and my bed ended up being sold at a 20% discount. I also had a box springs and mattress for sale. I was told on the phone this set would be priced at $120. I agreed to this price. When I called about the set, I was told it sold for $125. I was paid 50% of this slightly higher sale price. When Nancy called, she said the set sold for $150. She then gave me a check for $12.50 more. Of course, I was happy to get an additional sum, but I'm wondering, why three different prices? I realize that it's very difficult to serve the public and we all make mistakes, including me. I want to be fair to Redeux in my evaluation. So I think my conclusion is that perhaps these ladies are disorganized rather than dishonest, although I really don't know. Nancy was very nice and tried to make me happy. She pointed out that they did pay me rather than lying and saying my things had never sold and they discarded them. She has a good point there. I did get paid. My experience could have been much worse. My advice to sellers is to stay on top of every detail throughout the entire process. Go into the store often to see what price they are asking for your things. Note where your things are in the store. Know when an item is sold. IF you don't have time to stay on top of all these details, then I don't recommend that you use Redeux. read more

Redeux in my opinion offers the best quality furniture and customer service in Bend. I have consigned and purchased from all the shops in Bend and have always been pleased if not thrilled by the positive, professional customer service I have received from the team at Redeux. The sales staff are exceptional design decorators that truly listen to the customer and never push a sale. The guys are fabulous when delivering treating me and my home with respect and placing furniture in just the right spot. We have used Redeux several times with mixed results. However this time my fine furniture didn't sell and I picked it up to take it home. It had been in beautiful condition when I took it to them. When I picked it up, it was in terrible condition! My little table had cracks and dings and scratches all over it. My husband had to do a lot of work to restore it as best he could to its original condition, but it will never be as fine. Since items are on consignment, they still belong to the original owner, and should be treated as such. Since they profess to sell fine furniture, they need to learn how to treat fine furniture. If you think you'll take a piece back if it doesn't sell, think twice about taking it to Redeux. read more

As long-time second home owners in the Bend/Sunriver area, we have been shopping at Redeux for 10 years or more. In that time we have purchased some lovely high-end furniture - and even an extraordinary crystal chandelier. We have never attempted to sell anything to or through Redeux, so can't speak to that aspect, however I will observe that Redeux isn't Sanford & Son. As a buyer I've found that it is well worth my time to stroll through the store each time we come to town. We're generally delighted with one "find" or another. The owner and the manager are very well versed in the furniture/decorating industry, and the inventory reflects it. The prices are fair for the merchandise offered. If you are expecting to furnish a dorm room or to find a place to finally offload that couch you bought at Levitz 15 years ago, this is definitely not the store for you. On the other hand, if you are looking to enjoy big savings while purchasing quality furnishings, you can't go wrong here. read more

Crabby people who think they're doing you favor taking your goods. They need a down market to remind them that they're NOT the customer and to treat their consignees better. Take your stuff to Deja Vue, or better yet, drop your price 40% (that's Redeux's cut) and sell to people on CL who can really use it. You make the same, give buyers a break and don't have to be treated like you're being done a favor. Sigh............ read more

My favorite place to shop in Bend. I'm addicted to the variety and can't shop anywhere else for furniture.

They screwed up our furniture pick up in every way imaginable. They saw pictures of the office credenza we wanted to sell along with the dimensions. They showed up without the proper equipment and not enough guys to move it. They broke the leg and left it sitting in the middle of our room. Upon the managers apologies, she assured us that her "main moving guy" could handle the job 5 days later. An hour before the "main mover" was scheduled to show up, he called and stated that he won't be coming because he can't move the piece up and down stairs....WE DON'T HAVE STAIRS. After many excuses and apologies again from the manager, the movers came. They broke the other leg and then said they couldn't move the piece without another guy...which they didn't have. UGH! My husband said he would rather hire movers and donate the credenza before ever giving Redeaux another dime!! We will not be shopping or selling there again. read more

I currently live in Boise, however I lived in Bend 7 yrs ago and had excellent service with the staff and was treated very fairly. I came to Bend today to visit friends for the weekend and playing with my IPad I saw this review and was terribly upset when I read what Shannon had to say! I truly don't understand that review! Let me start by saying Redeux is HUGE. They have a very large facility with a vast selection of very good quality used (some looking even new) furniture. On top of the large selection, many things are reasonably priced. So why did I give it only three stars? I went in yesterday, a relatively slow day looking for something specific. When I walked in, another couple walked in before me, the owner warmly greeted them, then looked at me and said nothing. Okay... I walked around for 10 minutes or so looking for a headboard and footboard. Passed by the owner a few times. I heard her ask others if they were doing alright, but when she saw me she didn't say a word. After I made my way through the whole store, I headed towards the exit. While she was saying "goodbye!" and "thanks for stopping by!" to the other exiting shoppers, I was once again ignored. I am not sure if this was because I am not your average used furniture shopper, being 21 and moderately tattooed, but I was put off by the blatant avoidance of my presence. While I would recommend the store to those looking for a quality piece of used furniture, I myself will not be returning to Redeux. read more

I took in a chair to resell that I purchased from a design furniture store on Wall Street in downtown Bend. I paid $700 for the chair there about 2 years ago. Whoever bought the chair from Redeux got an exceptional deal since I noticed the design studio on Wall st has the same chair in stock for 3 times the price the lucky person paid at Redeux. Folks, if you are furniture shopping, you are crazy not to check out this place first! But, as far as the girl with the tattoo in another review, I don't blame her for not returning to Redeux. People are way to quick to judge someone from their appearance. My friend, an exceptional and highly successful artist, who gets 6 digits for his work looks like a homeless person. You can't judge a book by its cover as the saying goes. The lady that day was probably a low wage paid employee and that's too bad for the owner. If it was the owner, shame on her. I urge the girl to go back one more time and if she gets the same response, ask to speak to the owner. I'm a business owner also and I'd love to know if one of my employees was rude.
