There is a mirror testing you tongue-twisting abilities, a room filled with disco lights and screens that represent you in pixel form, a room with rotating walls that you must walk on a plank to pass through as well as more standard rooms that don't move and have normal lighting. In the more normal rooms are fun puzzles like a gate that you must solve how to open and a statue of the tallest man alive. There are so many cool things to see but I won't list them here because the surprise is part of what makes this place so interesting. Kids absolutely adore it and there are plenty of historical items and stories that adults will get absorbed in. It is a great place for the whole family to visit.

Reasonably priced, considering you can take your time and easily spend over an hour there if you're actually reading about things. Although it is a place for children, I'm not sure how many kids would want to walk around and pretty much just read about stuff nowadays. There are some interactive things, but not heaps.

Nice quiet exhibition space in the middle of a busy university campus. Good place for quiet…read morereflection. They have rotating exhibits every six months or so (I think a new one is starting this week). The one I saw in 2013 was about Australian indigenous weaving practices. It was actually really interesting - they've been perfecting the art over thousands of years. Lots of colourful examples on display. I don't know what the new exhibit is, so I can't comment on that. The staff of the museum are PhD students so they are really knowledgeable and approachable if you have questions.

There are water-craft, paintings, clothing, hunting gear, a large quantity of stone tools, including grind stones and axes, and some 1,100 spears and arrows. The UQAM collection as a whole represents a rich seam in the late nineteenth and twentieth century social and cultural history of Australian Aboriginal and Pacific peoples. Many artefacts demonstrate the entanglement of missionaries, colonial officials and the indigenous inhabitants of a region. While collectors often sought to acquire objects that they thought represented the last genuine aspects of a cultural group, local people themselves creatively adapted their material culture using imported goods. The resulting complexity is a captivating aspect of many objects in the UQ Anthropology Museum and offers many opportunities for different kinds of research. The UQ Anthropology Museum is located in St Lucia , Queensland's oldest and most established university campus. There are many cafes and attractions to enjoy during your visit. The Anthropology Museum changes exhibitions every 5 to 6 months, check the Museum website for the current show.
