Redcliffe Cinemas is in the long forgotten Kippa Ring shopping centre. Sorry, I shouldn't say long forgotten. People still go there and I'm sure it's fine enough for locals. But I don't remember the last time something new happened there. This goes for the cinemas. It looks the same way it has for years, except for a slightly new front on the candy bar. Which is where you buy tickets now by the by.
I try to avoid going here. Partially on account of not living close anymore. And partially because tickets aren't that much cheaper than anywhere else. I feel like to travel out of my way to a less than great cinemas I should be getting a cheaper price. But no.
I'm not really sure what they pay their staff to do, either. My friend and I turned up at 12:35 for a 12:45 movie only to be told that the cinema wasn't ready yet. Oh, then we waited through a good half an hour of ads. And not even good ads! Just ads for shops. (Good ads being movie trailers, by the way).
So all in all it was an average experience. But I guess parking is free, and there are shade cloths up near the movies so you can always get a close park. Hooray. read more
