Redbones is a smart and friendly carribean restaurant tucked away in the upper section of Haymarket walk, which is located between Broadmead and the BRI hospital. I went there for lunch today and was made very welcome, I ordered a chicken stew and a guava soda, and my colleague had a jerked pork dish. The portion sizes were generous, the food was beautifully presented and it was absolutely delicious. The food is made fresh from scratch on site and cooked while you wait, but that said we were not kept waiting long and a visit to this restaurant can easily fit within a lunch hour. I thought Redbones was very good value for money, a typical dish is currently around £5.99 with soft drinks £1.99 each. There were a range of starters and desserts on offer too. I would like to visit again on an evening and would recommend this restaurant, I thought it was better value than other Caribbean restaurants I have tried in the area. I asked about whether alcoholic drinks were available and I was advised you can bring your own, there is a Tesco very nearby and for a small corkage charge Redbones will supply glasses. This would make it excellent value to visit for an evening out. read more
