I haven't been to Enos Farms's actual farm, but I have had the pleasure of eating their catering…read moremany times over the last couple of years that they've been setting up on Wednesdays at the Shitty Barn. They're always experimenting, and I don't think I've had a bad dish. My favorite: the bacon and asparagus sandwich. I'm not even an asparagus fan, but I am so pumped whenever I see it on the menu. Their bacon is literally some of the best I've had - crispy and rich and full of flavor. Their desserts aren't anything to sneeze at either - definitely try their staple chocolate chip cookies, and if you see their scotcheroos buy the whole pan. It's been more than a year since I've tried that amazing creation and I still fantasize about it. The cherry on top of their catering outfit is that whoever's behind the table including owners Jeremy and Erin especially are the sweetest. They're always kind, they clearly take pride in their work, and they are generous. I once took napkins to one of the artists who had performed because they asked for them and Erin offered me free dessert for doing so. Not necessary at all but such a kind thing. I think that little gesture says a lot about them as a business.

One friend said it was the best meal he'd had all year. I'll totally use them for my next marriage.

One customer ahead of me, talking to another customer who already received his order. Two servers, both making his sandwich. One standing at the register waiting in his being completed, while the other takes his order. 3 min. later after he's paid, my sandwich is begun, while the other again attends to the register that's not going anywhere or even being rung up. Knowing that my Ham and cheese is the only thing I'm going to purchase, she still waits for it to be wrapped and delivered to my awaiting hand, before she rings up the order, again inquiring (third time) if I would be ordering another sandwich, or drinks, which I already walked towards the soda fountain and bottled drinks cooler, and returned empty handed. The good part is the sandwich is great and the over slathering of the mayo done against the wishes of the man ahead of me, (which I made sure was stated in a voice not to be unheard, but still politely) was not a reflex motion, which by the girth of the two ladies suggests they inhale condiments as a dietary component. The store is clean and the work area is not cluttered or even needing any replacements. A nice tidy subway in a very nice place. Spring Green is a wonderful little town, unlike its neighboring Arena which is something not a place I could ever want to call home. I toured both of these two places last summer with my thoughts on perhaps the idea of relocating. Too small and distant would be the only thing negative about this one, while Arena, was several miles closer towards Madison, it was not terribly unlike someplace I think of when I was in Kentucky years ago.

Also had no brown mustard so I said skip it. When I asked for the store number I was refused that. I had to go back inside to get my receipt and was denied that but finally got another employee to give it to me or I was literally going to lose my cookies. Never had I wanted to teach two children a lesson in common courtesy more but I kept reminding myself they were children. Who runs this store? They need to have a serious conversation with how customer service industry works with these two employees.

It had a good amount of veggies, and overall felt healthy. I also went for a seasonal peach pecan pancake. That was good one as well. Hot cocoa was a nice drink.

What an awful, stupid experience…read more This all started because their lattes DO NOT COME WITH ESPRESSO. The staff acted like I was an idiot for asking if the iced lavender latte I ordered had espresso. I'm 40 and have never ordered an "iced latte" from a cafe just to be served cold milk, but that's exactly what I got. I asked if I could get it remade with coffee, and they again brought out just iced milk with syrup. This time I asked for just a couple shots of espresso on the side so I could add it to the drink. They eventually at the end of the meal brought out a mug full of lukewarm espresso - probably 4-6 shots! I added a splash to my drink, mixed, and it was (finally) really tasty! But then I got my bill and they had tacked an extra $5 ($2.95 for the espresso + another $2.00 for ???) On top of already paying $4.95 for just cold flavored milk, I guess? When I tried to explain what happened, the cashier, I assume Karin, got combative and that's when I learned this entire weird experience was because they simply don't include espresso in their lattes! At any point somebody could've cleared this up, the cashier knew exactly what the issue was as soon as I asked about the charges, and was ready to argue! I was told "that's just how they named it" and I should've "read the description". So I would've known they're the only place I've ever encountered that considers just flavored iced milk at $4.95 a "latte". She said "chai & matcha lattes don't have espresso" therefore it shouldn't be assumed a "latte" comes with espresso. Chai & matcha have their own caffeine! It's the caffeine that makes a latte, not milk. Why in the hell am I literally arguing the definition of a latte with this lady??? I was really chill up until this point. I was more incredulous than anything. Served just iced milk twice? Takes almost the whole meal to just get gross overload of espresso? Whatever. But to then be charged an extra $5 (making this drink almost $10!) and argued with by staff? That was a bridge too far. Went from just a weird, bad time to a positively nasty time. Top 3 worst dining experiences. Good job, Spring Green General Store, these out-of-towners definitely won't be back, which seemed to be the point. Hope the extra $5 you bullied out of us was worth it!

We had the pick of our table in their small but nicely decorated 50s style dining room. Our server appeared a minute later to give us menus and take our drink order. Their menu offered burgers, hot dogs, chicken and wraps. We had our minds set on a burger but couldn't decide among the several choices available. Querying our server, she pointed us to the Marilyn burger so we each got one of those with a small green salad and onion rings to share. Tempted by their floats and shakes, we didn't buckle and got glasses of waters. Our burgers arrived piled high with yumminess including grilled onions, cheese curds, bacon, more cheese, bbq and rumble sauce. Looks like they will put their rumble sauce (spicy ranch?) on anything you let them. The actual patty hiding under all this is thinner than you think and made it possible for us to finish it without too much trouble. The small salad was enjoyable topped with tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and cheese. It was big enough to share fir us and they kindly each gave us our own choice of dressing on the side. The onion rings were fine but not great. We enjoyed our meal and the fine service.
