This is a go to spot in Sulphur Springs, TX! Located directly across from the airport just a short walk. The staff here are awesome. The restaurant is always packed in the mornings. Service is quick. The past few times I've been, I got the breakfast combo with eggs, ham and tomato slices with coffee. I got wild one day and ordered the biscuits and gravy! Legit! Sooooo good! This "home made" cooking is seriously our favorite restaurant in the area. Excellent breakfast & dinners. Service is amazingly friendly and fast. It is a relaxed and family friendly cafe. Kids are very much welcome. The price per meal will amaze you. Today we had their special which consisted of a hand breaded Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes, grilled squash & roll. It also included a drink, piece of pineapple cake, and the tax. All for $10. You can choose your sides. My husband tried the potato salad. It was so good! Went there this past Saturday and spent just short of $30 and the lady got nasty with me about the receipt I signed when I used my card. I had laid it right in front of her. The hours says they're open on Sundays, but we drove across town to visit them and they were closed. Hours need to be updated.

FIRST VISIT: WON'T BE BACK! First visit, stopped in to try lunch at about 12:30. They weren't overly busy, but steady. No sign at door to seat yourself or wait to be seated, no greeting, no hostess. I stood inside the door for 12 minutes. Several employees made eye contact. No greeting, no "can I help", no "just seat yourself," nothing. So I left. Sad. We just moved to town and we eat out regularly. I got better service at DQ, and that ain't saying much. read more

We drove way out of our way from interstate 30 to this place. There were lots of cars here so I'm sure the food is probably very good. The steak was so tender I could cut it with a fork, mashed potatos were a bit bland for my liking, but a little salt and pepper fixed that. Whenever we come into down this is the only place we ever go too, the food is decent, but I find it so odd they only accept cash or check, maybe it's because I'm from the city. They have a good brunch menu and I have seen the patty melt, excellent. We normally order the catfish though and it's really good. The only time I was disappointed was when I ordered a salad for a meal. It was not impressive at all. So if you are planning on going here I would stick to the comfort food and brunch, and don't forget to bring your check book. read more

Very good food, we eat here at least once per week and often recognize the regulars... I love the Open Face Breakfast which is biscuit halves and gravy with scrambled eggs and sausage mixed in. I substitute crumbled bacon for the sausage. Also the BLT sandwich with fries instead of chips. My wife likes the ham and cheese omelets.
