Now that we have teenagers, we just come for a fun time once in a great while. My favorite part is the lazy river. I could spend hours relaxing f there and it has this super fun tube slide too. For the toddlers, there's a zero depth entry part of the pool, with a cute mini slide and splash pad. For the grade school kids, there's slides are always a hit. For our tweens, they loved the deeper part of the pool with the super fast slides. And of course we all love the lazy river. The season passes also include unlimited mini golf on their super cute 9 hole course that includes a fabulous waterfall. I even love that they have mandatory safety breaks at the top of each hour to ensure the lifeguards get a break and gives our kids a chance to reapply sunscreen.

We went and experienced the Lagoon on the 3rd of July which is when TI was doing their fireworks and the hotel was completely sold out, so it was certainly busy with everyone decked out in their red, white and blue. We changed in our room as we had read there is no locker room and the lockers are paid lockers (confirmed that). My husband was excited about the swim up bar so we headed to the adults only section which is really amazing when there are a lot of kids. To get into the lagoon as a hotel guest, we needed our IDs so they could match us to our room and give us our wristbands. After you go sign waivers on ipads right around the corner. This got a little congested as there was a mix of technology users and all the Ipads were on a table and everyone stood at the table. They had free towels to use which was really appreciated, they are not big by any means but towels provided is fantastic. We dropped our coverups and shoes in a corner in the adult section which is what most people appeared to do. We spent the majority of the time in the swim up bar. The water was very comfortable. They had a assortment of canned drinks and 2 cocktails that were on draft (strawberry margs and blue razz lemonade). No mixed drinks or anything else. There was only 1 bartender working plus a bar back and she was getting worked for sure. When we were closing out 2 others were coming in. They only take cards and you can not charge to your room which seemed to create a lot of confusion since I think a lot of people wanted to charge to their rooms. We wanted to go the lazy river and there were enough tubes, however with the volume of kids in the river, we opted to just stay in the swim up bar for this trip. They had a pool you could splash around in, adult only hot tubs, lazy river, splash area for the littles and water slides, so really there is something for everyone.

They also sell some boxed snacks, which were on the pricier side for what it was (gummies, nerds and animal crackers), canned alcohol (no shots) and drinks. Located in the middle of BW Riverfront Hotel, an unusual spot for a "mini water park" but anything to keep my little miss wants to be a fish swimming and happy. It's free to guests of the hotel and $7 for non-guests. My oldest and I soaked up the sun in some lawn chairs(free of charge) while my little fish slid down the slide a dozen times, played volleyball with other kids, and waited for the giant bucket of water to dump on her over and over. They also have a pool table if you want something to do outside the water. They don't sell any but you can bring drinks in but no food allowed, don't let the umbrella covered tables fool you. They do have a small room just outside the gate with a few arcade games and a table to eat at. They also have a bathroom with towels, shower, a blow dryer and a mirror. I liked it because it's not crowded, easier to keep an eye on my little fish and they have a life guard on duty maintaining safety on the slide and adding an extra pair of eyes. All in all a nice little spot to go when it's hot. A great place to go when you're in Wisco!

Definitely worth the trip especially if you are visiting nearby Red Wing. My only criticism would be that the maps along the trail didn't have a "you are here" marker, but that went away once I figured out each intersection being assigned a letter. Will have to come back in the warmer seasons for a hike and/or camping trip!

We had our daughters birthday party here. Prior to the party I called to ask about Gluten free…read moreoptions. I was told they had hotdogs, french fries, and pizza. So I pre-ordered a pizza (along with the gorilla for other guests). The day we arrived, told "no gluten free pizza was available" so we ordered hot dogs and fries...told as the pizza's were being served "oh, no fries as it is broken". So our daughter had 2 hot dogs while everyone else enjoyed pizza (was told we could not order in a gluten free option). We booked the party and were given 10 passes, we also had 5 coupons for free entry. We told the front desk to use the 10 birthday passes first, that way we could use the coupons at a later date. When we left, they had 5 passes left and no coupons...they gave those first and refused to change this. We spent well over $300 for this party. Not once did we get "How did we do?" to follow up. Very disappointed. Good place to go if you are just going swimming, do not book a party here.

Staff is friendly for the most but but I don't recommend the pool for toddlers. It is set up like a beach and gets very deep even in the "kiddie" area. Killer waterpark, petting zoo, bowling alley, arcade, mini golf course, big playground for the kids... And it's right on the lake for fishing. There's a tram that drives by every 5-10 minutes to bring you anywhere in the park. Kamp Dells is easily 5 stars for me. For this part of Minnesota, it doesn't get much better on a hot summer day. Seasonal spots are expensive, which seems to be what a lot of the complaints are about. But if you accept that the price is the price... I really can't imagine what anyone would have to complain about.

On the plus side, it is pretty big, so you can spread out, but that is also a bit scary as there can be a lot of kids in the water and you really work to stay on top of your kids to make sure they are safe and/or playing nice with others. They have some big waterpark-type slides but those were closed for some reason. The staff were really nice and gave us advice as to the best times to come to beat the crowds, etc. There is also free parking, but it is somewhat limited, so best to plan your visit accordingly.
