"...YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE I'D WANT TO STUFF AND MOUNT OVER MY FIREPLACE." (GRUMPY OLD MEN)
For my 100th review, I considered performing an interpretive dance number about fishing. Unfortunately it seems both jazz hands and wading boots were picked off the shelves along with the Charmin and Purell, so no dance will be forthcoming.
We may not be able to watch a movie at a theater or find basic groceries in these worrisome times. But you know what we can still do? Go fishing.
Minnesota has over 10,000 lakes in and on which to play, swim, and fish. But Pottery Pond is unique in that it is four acres of angling fun created to provide fishing opportunities for those who don't have access to fishing elsewhere.
It was also designed to teach children the basics of fishing--there's nothing like watching their faces light up as they catch their first...or fiftieth lunker! Tournaments for kids are held here twice a year as well.
Just don't expect to find the ghosts of Jack Lemmon or Walter Matthau casting around for trophy blue gills, crappies, or rainbow trout in the pond. They're too busy telling fish stories down at Slippery's in Wabasha.
If you aren't into fishing, just visit to enjoy the gorgeous views from the pond, with the scenic Mississippi River, Barn Bluff, and houseboats visible off in the distance.

Overall this is the perfect spot for kids to fall hook, line, and sinker for the sport of fishing. My family has only used the pond during fishing tournaments with my nephew, but I still give it 4 Rappala Rippin Raps and a bobber to boot. *Jazz hands* read more
