I love supporting local small businesses, and I've been coming to Red Velvet Mama since their grand opening. The owner is so sweet, and gives great recommendations if its your first time. I love that their desserts are not overwhelmingly sweet, but still satisfies my food cravings. If I'm not mistaken they freshly bake their goodies in house, and deliver to their other locations. My favorite thing to get is their dessert sandwiches, especially the red velvet oreo sandwich with cream cheese frosting. What I like to do when I can resist eating it right away. I put it in the freezer for a couple hours. The frosting will freeze a little, and the whole thing tastes like an icecream sandwich. I'm really glad despite the pandemic they are still open and well! They are such a cute little shop, and some of their locations are in mall food courts. Please continue to support small businesses, black owned businesses, and women owned businesses! :) I gave this place a chance, and now its become one of my favorite places to get a quick treat! read more

This bakery is located in the mall. Got the red velvet, strawberry, and turtle cupcakes from here. All were delicious!

I come all the way over here when I feel like I want some Whoopie, whoopie pies that is. A whoopie pie looks like a cupcake cut in half and turned in towards each other. They are so much fun to eat. The price is nice for this little snack dessert, two for five dollars, I got a half dozen of whoopie pies for $15.00. The whoopie pies and the cupcakes are very moist, they are baked fresh everyday. Velvet Mama is located inside Stonecrest Mall, they have two locations in this mall a cart downstairs on the first floor and a larger counter style upstairs with more cake selections. My favorite is lemon laughter which is offered on Thursday and Fridays. I also love blueberry whoopie pie. Keylime Is a favorite of mine also. I think blueberry and keylime whoopie or cupcakes are offered everyday. My least favorite is the Salted Caramel. The staff is always friendly. I was told they sale whole cakes also. read more

Red Velvet Mama is a cupcake counter located in Stonecrest Mall. In addition to cupcakes, they sell whoopie pies, cake by the slice and whole cakes. They also have layered treats--like cupcakes and cheesecakes--in cute little jars. Although there are over twenty flavors listed on their menu, the day I visited only half a dozen flavors were in the display case. They offer samples but by the time I got there the tray had been picked clean. I went with a Key Lime Kiss whoopie pie and six Velvet Victory (Red Velvet) mini whoopies. I'd always thought of whoopie pies as cakey cookie sandwiches filled with marshmallow crème. Instead, these whoopie pies were made from two cupcake tops sandwiched with frosting. They were slightly sticky to the touch and tasted syrupy sweet. The Key Lime was a bright green color and after a few bites my eyes watered; the same thing happens when I eat too many Skittles. The Red Velvet mini whoopies satisfied my craving for something sweet but they weren't memorable. In short, the whoopies at Red Velvet Mama were good, not great. If I visit Stonecrest Mall again I might stop by for another treat but I'd try a cupcake instead...if nothing else because the service was friendly and I like to support local businesses. read more

I went to Red Velvet Mama because a coworker told me that she tried a cake slice and loved it. I went after work on last Monday and bought 4 slices for my family. I will say that it was good but not the best. I told them about it at work on Tuesday and another coworker said she would like to try them. I live close to the mall and said that I would stop by after work to get some for her. While visiting Red Velvet Mama on this trip I was told that all the cake slices were sold out because of $2.00 Tuesday. They only had cupcakes and whoopies left. I purchased 8 cupcakes and left. When I got home I tried one of the cupcakes and was in love. OMG they were amazing! My husband is very picky when it comes to cake but he really liked the cupcake more than the cake slice. I have a new go to spot to get my sweet fix. I think the cupcakes are addictive because I'm thinking about picking some up today if their open. read more

This is the best red velvet cake I've ever had. The cake crumbles in your mouth and the icing is amazing! I'm so confident in the consistent taste and quality each time that I've asked to have this cake at my most significant event...my daughter's baby shower. I ordered a 9" red velvet cake that cost $50.00 for my twin aunts' birthday dinner but when I picked the cake up it was really small. First off the box was tape on all sides and I had to open it myself to ensure that the order was correct. When I asked the girl behind the counter if it was 9", she replied 'if that's what you ordered.' I asked to see the circular sizes hanging on the wall so that I could get a closer look. She gave me both the 8" and 9" replicas to compare. When I held them next to the cake, it was clear that I was given an 8" cake and was due a refund of the difference. The clerk goes to the back and gets Teresa, the owner, who tries to convince me that the replicas are not the actual cake size, rather the pan size. HUH??? I guess she assumed that I was ignorant because that makes absolutely no sense. I took the cake out of the box to show her that what she was saying was nonsense. Needless to say, she refused to give me a refund of the difference. Said that she would give me my money back but she was keeping the cake....did I mention that it was my aunts' birthday. I will never do business with them again. This is a perfect example of why our businesses cannot do well. She could have had a repeat customer if she wasn't trying to run a scam and deceive me. read more
